The Smash Brothers: Documentary series
Fused King replied to jayseven's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Been going through this with my girl (we're at M2K episode now) and it is soooo incredibly fun to watch! I had a friend a few years back who I helped get into NINTENDO gaming, which led to him getting into Brawl and into the competitive Brawl scene as a result. He started putting so much time in Brawl that he soon became better than me and his knowledge about the Smash community grew substantially. After he had done a few tournaments locally, in Belgium and when he had hosted some he got into contact with someone in New York who happened to know the guy who would host the first APEX (in 2010, I believe). This host his nickname was 'Alex Strife'. So my friend, another smash friend of him and myself signed up for Apex 2010 and we were hosted by wonderful smashers in New York who would also help us get around and show us parts of the city. We got to meet Japanese people as well, one of which became 2nd in Brawl. We rode back from New Jersey in a van with 12 TVs and 6 smashers (one of which was the grand champion of Apex in Brawl who was a really cool dude) and arrived back at Alex Strife's house at about 9 o' clock in the morning ready for bed They were mad times. Looking back at it now I feel so grateful that I was able to experience those two weeks of Smashing (even though I sucked big time compared to the avid players) and sightseeing, but then it was quite an ordeal and rather tough to go through. Still, even though I wasn't there for competitive smash, I met such awesome people and it be times like those that I truly thank the wonders of the internet and the ways in which it can bring people together from all over the world. I saw Armada play, Mew2King and Mango. As well as sick ass Japanese players and brothers from the West Coast. Such an amazing array of people, such an amazing series. -
Oh dear, I'm afraid Sakurai has opened Pandora's Box here

Pikmin Designer Working on Original Nintendo Game
Fused King replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
My thoughts exactly. It definitely doesn't sound to me as 'something new' but more like 'something NINTENDO ownes'. -
Keep aiming for that 150 hours

I get what you're saying, this NFC stuff should definitely not hinder the accessibility of Smash, nor should it restrict a full gaming experience. However, if they could perhaps use it for a fun and quirky mode, purely optional and thus only for the collectors, it could work. I must say, I would never spend my money on figurines and whatnot, but Smash would be the only franchise to convince me to buy some. Having various of NINTENDO's greats standing next to eachother in awesome smash trophy form would be aesthetically pleasing to my eyes... P.S.: AMAZING how smooth this Wiiu internet works!

Such beauty, such beauty!

I don't know. If it's just for something extra it would be awesome, but a mode you would miss unless you were to collect figurines would definitely not go hand in hand with Smash Bros. That's not Sakurai's style. It would be damn awesome to collect all sorts of small NINTENDO figurines though, even though it's a bit sad to do so.

Huh? Really? He explained it quite perfectly, didn't he? Press C button simultaneously when you have 100 bananas, Diddy + Donkey Kong = All enemies on screen turn into balloons. Dixie + Donkey Kong = All enemies on screen turn into golden hearts.

Welp, finished this bad boy today (Story Mode anyway) and it has been both a treat and an ordeal throughout. But mostly a treat thanks to the credits reminding me. A Game which had Keiji Inafune as its Executive Producer. Times have changed indeed. Went through most of it with my girl, but she couldn't be bothered anymore at the end of the 4th world for some reason (probably exams:laughing:). I really liked the overall feel of the game, but the trail-and-error way of playing takes some getting used to. Sometimes you figure it out all by yourself only to make a simple mistake near the end, and BAM! their goes your life or a lot of HirameHQ. Lowpoint was definitely the swordfighting with Barbaros's goons near the end. If people say Skyward Sword's motion controls are bad, then you should seriously play that part! Waving that non-Wii-motion-plus-wii-mote around took a lot out of my arm and practically made me half cripple Highpoint was definitely Barbaros himself and the various collectibles which were throwbacks to old-school Capcom games, I believe. A great, colourful work of art and Zack and Wiki ought to be present in Smash one way or another!

@Wii, I know, I know. I already saw that before I made the statement, because, going by recent events, I wouldn't put it past NINTENDO to not milk the hype around their biggest franchises.

Oh, yeah, now that you mention it, Aonuma did wanted to show something of Zelda WiiU whilst in Germany. Could be, could be... Or perhaps they'll make everyone wait again and reveal that a Mii is playable in Smash. An epic Smash-character related announcement would be epic though. RAYMAN!

If I had to guess it would be for some kind of new trailer regarding Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Cheer up ol' lad. At least there's Wart in Super Mario 3D World....

For a split second there I thought they made Toad playable

What better way to celebrate than with this: I'm officially 'with the times' now,

I don't think I've ever had a chance to complain ever in my gaming years. Now I'm not much of the complaining type, but ever since I got more seriously involved into gaming (since, well, ... when I had the ability to handle a mouse and keyboard) I have never had the feeling that I was lacking in things to play. To this day it astonishes me how people can finish, say, the upcoming Zelda in a week. Given my backlog, other gaming project etc.. it would take me perhaps a month or two at best. I mean, only now have I finally gotten my hands on Eternal Darkness, but before that I am going through Beyond Good&Evil. Heh, I'm actually playing Gamecube games on my Wii before I can even start with the likes of Kirby's Epic Yarn, Sin&Punishment 2, Opoona, Another Code R (Will play the first one on DS first though), Eledees, Deadly Creatures, The Blob 2, etc... I already have a backlog on my Wiiu now for crying out loud! and I don't even have it yet! And when that is all said and done there's still tons and tons of DS games to go through like Radiant Historia, Monster Tale, 999, Contact, Pokémon Conquest, etc... and a whole lot of Japanese games as well. And then there's the 3DS as well, ......and then there's GTAV, and then there's a quirky eShop game. Why must I enjoy gaming so? WHY GOD!?!? Fuck this, I'm off to finish Zack&Wiki now.

I'd say we're naturally curious, but to say that we naturally want more and new things would be indoctrinated values of the capitalistic system talking. However, I must agree that it is of course no fun to play the same game over and over again, so seeing new things is obviously a nice thing but in no way a deep-rooted 'want'. Anyway, so It's been a year then huh. How wonderful it then is that this is the week I will finally be getting my Wiiu (The NSMBu + NSLBu pack) with Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends and Pikmin 3. I've decided to add an extra year to my studies so I now have more free time to finish some older games on the ol' backlog such as Beyond Good&Evil or Zack&Wiki and a whole lot more. Hopefully I can find the time to enjoy HD graphics on a NINTENDO console for the first time

Man, dat shit is the shit! I am soo getting this soon! Great stuff!

Haha, had the exact same thing happen to me near The Louvre when I was a few years younger. Still, I would argue that Paris is just your typical Big Metropolitan area with busy streets, pickpocketers and bull shit stores. It's not all bad, Dazzy, it's not all bad. Can't give you any good advice though, except that I really dislike Paris for some reason. The atmosphere is just a bit rushed and grey, but it definitely depends on the parts you'll be frequenting. Away from the busy centre you can find some well needed peace of mind. Not a big fan of big cities in general though. And I would second Rummy's statement about language. All the times I've been to France the people weren't always happy to help in English. You should come to The Netherlands for that! But still, it all depends on the places you'll be visiting, and I bet you'll be able to find a nice pub or two where you'll have more internationally oriented people. Oh yeah, welcome to Euroland : peace:

My God! You're not wrong there, mon brave. Could this be 'Panic Mode NINTENDO' at work making everything epic? Next up: Kirby's Epic Yarn 2: Epic Rage Needs more brown! Or all this might be related to the BrawlInTheFamily Halloween special!

B-E-A-utiful! Seems like a mix of Mario Galaxy 1 and 2. Now come on Rosalina! It's high time she laid down the law on Princess Peach and Zelda, resulting in an epic showdown between Rosalina and Sheik
