The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess
darksnowman replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Just spent the avo playing this again after a good whiles absence. Did Snowpeak's Mansion. What a level - these have all seemed huge so far. I'm still loving the game - especially that item I got in the Mansion... needless to say, I trashed the place with it. Ooh, and against the boss, I went in with just four or five hearts and just sneaked it with half a heart left - great feeling! I missed two chests in it - next time I play I'm going back in to see if ones a heart piece. I sure hope so! -

I think Telma wins that accolade. The afro gal is in no way a Zora, lol. Do you mean you thought so when you saw her back when you were a wolf going up there? -
Well then, the lady wouldnt give such a favourably response. Hush up would ya, you're spoiling the ray of hope I'm trying to give to these Friend Zoners.
-
Come now, lass. Even if a lady was wearing a skirt (and why should'nt a lady?) then she'd have plenty of layers under, suitably guarding her modesty.

You gotta have charm to get a girl. Try something like this: "Might I recline briefly at your feet, miss? Your beauty has loosened my knees. I'm sure a few moments spent looking at your profile from below, with the back of my head on these cool tiles, would put me right." Then you're destined for her to look favorably upon you.

FIRE EMBLEM: A blockbuster made on a shoestring...
darksnowman replied to Zechs Merquise's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Ooh, playing it on normal! Let us know how that goes difficulty-wise wont you, I imagine that it'll be horrendous come the latter half of the game. I missed the odd character when I played this. I think two maybe, that'd be why I'd replay, though I'd probably need to check some tips to see what I didnt do to not recruit whoever I missed. -
Technically not the last film I saw, but still. The Pursuit o' Happyness. Really a great film, I wanted to see more of it and I think this is a contender for a DVD purchase. It was painful to watch but thats what makes it so great. Will Smith and Jaden were great, as was pretty much everyone else. The homeless guy who thought the bone density thingy's were time machines was amusing. I reckon this deserves a good 8.5/ 10. Tis definitely atleast an eight but not quite a nine, so I split the difference. Worth seeing, so please, be sure to see it.

Overrated and underrated Nintendo classics
darksnowman replied to mcj metroid's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Overrated: Metroid! Underrated: Duke Nukem 64. Majora's Mask. (I'm sure there are plenty more for both categories, I'll check back with more when they come to me.) -
Yeah they do. Ive tried searching for devices and they don't pick each other up. Bit of a weird one and theres nothing extensive in the instruction books. Any other ideas guys?

Who knows Bluetooth? Eh? Well this is where I need your aid and expertise. In short, I have a Samsung mobile phone (not sure which model number) and my sister has a Samsung laptop. Right, on my USB data pen I have a ringtone saved. How to I send it to my mobile? Do I need a cable or anything? I would've thought that sending it wirelessly would have been pretty straight forward, but as usual, things dont seem as smooth as one might hope. Anyone got any solutions?

My Wii's extremely quiet, apart from the discs churning in it from time to time. I think the disc noise is acceptable, I mean, the wee Wii has to read the info off it somehow. Jeepers, its not like the whole machines constantly whirring and buzzing and squeaking constantly.

Whats The Nerdiest Thing You've Done In The Last 24 Hours?
darksnowman replied to ReZourceman's topic in General Chit Chat
I guess coming here is pretty nerdilicious. Instead of getting to bed at a reasonable hour last night I stayed up, messed about on the laptop trying to bluetooth a ringtone to my mobile (that CTU one, just to add extra nerdiness), failed miserable so that subtracts some of my computer nerd qualities so Im gonna have to check the instruction book for the mobile next week. I mean, search for devices, using a Samsung mobile and a Samsung laptop should be a pretty straight forwards caper, no? Well after that, I watched Muse's Glasto DVD, while putting Zelda stuff from the NOM DVD of yore to my USB. Exciting? -
The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess
darksnowman replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Pit Jr, I agree that Zelda was probably wonderful in the 80's but I just never played it when I was a wee tike. Played some Zelda II, though minimal. We were chatting in the Meaningless Post Thread about the first one, I got it with my NES SP t'other year, and I really just dont know what to do in it. Ive just dandered about in it a few times, found nothing much... and died. If I want to progress through it, I think a walkthrough will be needed, and I dont like that idea. -
Yeah, I was kinda hoping to see it, I didnt realise that making reservations would be necessary? Strange one, but if its full or all reserved then theres always the Pursuit o' Happyness and Ill see Rocky another time.

Any local boys in the Ireland team or are they all still frozen out? Humphries is the best, but doesnt seem to play. I dont really follow rugby at all by the way, I dont think Ill vote.

I was talking to old man Ulrira there on the dog and bone and he gave Twilight Princess his full endorsement. : peace:

The Legend of Zelda:Twilight Princess
darksnowman replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
According to that site calculator Im a mere 26% through it. Ive done up to and including the fourth level (desert) but I guessed the number of hearts, bugs, poes and all that I have. Apparently Im only a quarter of the way through?! Jeekers. -
Good question, Id like to hear how it plays as well. It really is the Wiimote that makes the one I have such fun to play. Gesturing is much more natural than button pressing and brings a new dimension to the mini-game genre. On PS2 it must just be like some kinda Mario Party with no boards?

I was meaning to ask, see the wee bits that you've put on the Nunchuk joysticks, does it make it more difficult to use? Like I mean, does your thumb slip off it now or anything?

What Defines Nintendo To You? (Podcast Hot Topic)
darksnowman replied to Mokong's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I agree with the above. Nintendo are all about the way they seem to keep improving on what they've done in the past but still retaining that Nintendo feel. We all know about Mario games, he's been with us forever so he's instantly recognisable but what about Pikmin? Its the new kat on the block, but the thing is, if you had no idea who it was made by until you first read about it or watched a video, you'd be inclined to guess it was a Nintendo game. Its the way they fill their games full of charm and character. And being different too. I suppose the Wii and DS are the ultimate departures so far from what we expect games to be, it makes you wonder what will happen on down the line. What you can be sure of though is that there will always be nods to the past, be it a remixed tune or just a little Easter Egg of some sort, it always brings a smile to our faces when we find something that Nintendo put there just for us. I could go on a brave bit more, but yeah, I like that idea that even though playing Nintendo games is the only way we really know the company, its that nice warm spark they put in their games that keeps us coming back and somehow makes the whole experience more personal. If you know what I mean? -
Just had a gander at it... quite long winded but cool to see none the less. Since you said they're easy to remove, I might check them out... but I'm really happy enough with my Wii being white for now, Ive not many complaints as far as that goes. Yeah, I'd be wary as well about getting water near my Wii, could result in catastrophe!

Super mario bros3 or super mario world
darksnowman replied to THE ganondorflol's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Just realised Ive not offered my opinion on this debate! For me, Id say that Mario 3 beats Mario World. They're both top notch games but I thought three had alot more content. I really liked the item set up aswell. Mario World, dont get me wrong, I love it to bits and I completed it totally on lots of occassions. All 96 exits isnt it? Well I used to delete my save file and just restart, confident in the fact that Id redo it all. What a game, not many Id do that with nowadays. I dont even think I completed Mario 3, and if I did it was through the use of the flutes... there were three werent there...? I definitely mind where two of them were. Really liked it as a game though so it would get my vote if this thread included a poll. Edit: And just for the record Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, trumps them all! -
Just read that review - they make it sound great and like I must own it. Im still put off by the price though, if it was priced like the Cube one then Id have it. Interestingly, my girl was questioning me about it last night. Well, the question was... Why do I not have it?! I was like, er it only came out today dear. She wasnt convinced but had to take my (truthful) word for it. I asked how she knew about it and she said isnt it the one where you do such and such (I cant mind now) and so I agreed. Apparently she saw it on TV. Urgh, what an annoyance this marketing malarky is. I tried to get her to play the Cube one but I didnt think she liked it at all. Hmmm. Well its not like shes played my Wii more than once yet so Wii Sports, Wii Play and the Rabbids will be enough to keep her going for a good while at this rate. If she wants Warioware, she can buy us it.
