Yeah, some of the cards are way over-powered, they try to correct that by banning certain cards. Dark ritual is banned for being one of the most insane cards ever, though you might not initially think so... it turns out three black mana for a single swamp can let you dominate early on. Anyhoo, they banned Pokemon cards at my school, because they banned everything popular. This sounded like we weren't allowed to play Magic either, so we drew up a list of reasons why we should still be able to play it, and presented it to the headmaster, who ended up giving us special permission for Magic only. We were awesome like that.

Count me in this time round - I finally have both a camera and free time.

Fair enough, though most of the examples you give are of involuntary changes in appearance, which are more likely to effect you as you didn't instigate them in the first place. That said, I probably over-simplified - I'd be unlikely to let my appearance alter my personality, but maybe others would do so.

I think it's easy enough to argue that the way you choose to look is effectively an extension of your personality in the first place. For a less controversial example, let's try my facebook profile picture - I have a fucking strange personality, which results in me looking fucking strange: Now, I may not have realised this personality by dying my hair, but that doesn't mean it can't be done by someone else without them being shallow. And however I end up appearing, it has no (or very little) effect on what I might talk to you about. Personality defines customisation of appearance, but customisation of appearance has a negligible influence on personality.

I mainly collected and played Magic: the Gathering, which was a far deeper game, though I did collect and play Pokemon cards for a short period of time. I tried to sell some of mine on ebay a few years back, and got hardly anything for them.

This would be a great idea, providing they managed to stop illegal downloading... which is pretty impossible.

You have to admit though, it'd be awesome. I can't see it getting as far as a flash animation, but I'd like to write stuff.

A flash animation would be awsome, but if we were to do such a thing we'd need some kind of focus. A nub joining up? Hmm, crappy. The only way I'd be able to do it is by writing one... actually, I'd love to do that. Someone think up a decent premise and I'll write the story in installments.

Sonic hedgehog is just plain awesome, I love the way those chicken embryo experiments correspond so well with Wolpert's French Flag model, especially with the low concentration -> keratin, intermediate concentration -> brachyury, high concentration -> goosecoid. (incidentally, relative "digit" size actually means something in a flying bird, again suggesting some degree of vestigiality in humans) And Hox genes in general are cool - I love the way they are expressed in the order they appear on the genome, both chronologically and positionally. Fun things to do with arthropod speciation too... [/geek]

Knowledge != intelligence. Additionally, would well-rounded people want to be adequate in both? Based on my experience, people almost always wish they were both more intelligent and more attractive.

It'll probably be a (more or less) direct translation of something like wareware, which can be used much like the Royal we in English.
