  1. Some peoples comments in amazon reviews for Elfen Lied really crack me up: "Most of the main characters, in essence, seem to have some serious mental problems that will really hamper them in later life (assuming they live that long, or don't end up with greater problems like running out of limbs). " "I have never watched an anime before so when i heard of this cartoon movie i thought it was going to be like something Disney made. Well i was wrong this moive is not for kids at all, full of blood and gore and nudity it might be a bit overpowering if like me you were not prepared. " "hi i have seen the whole series in japanesse and apart from the fact i couldnt understand the launguage i found it the best japanese anime ever the whole base story line is so emotional it proabably would make you cry but maby im just really sad but its good i advise any one who likes other things like outlaw star love hina and other anime to definatly buy this product it rules"
  2. I have a scar on my little finger from a laminated M&S label. I should sue.
  3. Happy birthday, Aimless. I present you with this fine aim.
  4. I disagree with him, so try it out for yourself. In my opinion, it's not as good as AzuDai, but still pretty funny.
  5. I quite like where I live: I'm in a village which is quite close to various towns and train stations, so it's very easy to get somewhere if you want to. The only bad thing is that there are a few leary kids. Oh well, it'll all change in a few months when I go to university.
  6. Well frankly, bullying him back isn't the way to procede. If he really is acting like such a cock, then just forget about him, even if he used to be your friend. Ultimately, the best way to cope with such things is to ignore them, and not to take yourself too seriously. It's always worked for me in the past.
  7. That's a good point, this pretty much is bullying.
  8. The only person on here who I've ever met in real life was Surrealist, and that was because I got him to join. Anyway, he hardly posts here now.
  9. This sort of thing (as in pictures being stuck up) happens all the time at my school. People take the piss a little for about a week, and then that's about it.
  10. There are a lot of otaku in-jokes, so some people might not pick up on them... I'm sure I missed/didn't get quite a few.
  11. It's not about jokes, it's about atomosphere. Plus, some of the jokes are pretty funny, like the hikkikomori who became a hikkikomori within a MMORPG.
  12. That sounds (intentionally?) like one of those old text-based games.
  13. About to finish A-levels and go to university, so it's a turning point for me as well. And I am fully content with this.
  14. I did note the strange and twisted reality of printers about 5 years ago, but was under the impression that they've been better behaved recently. Perhaps they are biding their time...
  15. Try asking on the anime identification thread on animesuki, they'll probably work it out there.
  16. Thaks for that link, I've been looking for a website that ships things like menma to the UK.
  17. Not terribly suprising. When you're dealing with anime, don't mess with 2ch.
  18. For those who are interested, the second series of Higurashi will be starting in July. It's 24 episodes long, and there will be 3 arcs: Yakusamashi-hen, Minagoroshi-hen, and Matsuribayashi-hen. That first one is an anime only arc, and the other two are the remaining visual novel arcs. Edit: I've just watched the first episode of Lucky Star, and I have to say all my predictions were correct... it's great! Half of the episode is a discussion about how to eat food.
  19. As far as I can tell, Lucky Star is a bit like Azumanga Daioh for 50 year old otakus. Which means I'll probably love it.
  20. I love it, it's great... however, I'm not too keen on sushi. (It's alright, but not delicious or anything...) Yeah, you're right, 238.132 according to my sources. Ah well, I did say rough and ready... By the way, natto is something I really want to try. I hear from many sources that it's very much an acquired taste, and most foreigners find it vile, so I'll probably hate it...
  21. Games based on wars like this have always seemed wrong to me, as it's just too close to something real.
  22. By the way, rough and ready conversion from yen to pounds is quick and easy- simply divide by 200. I assume (and hope) that ramen is cheap... am I correct?
