  1. Provided they are being tested for drugs, rather than stuff like make up, then I'm with it all the way.
  2. Higurashi, Mai-HiME, Azumanga Daioh, Welcome to the NHK, School Rumble, Honey and Clover. That's what I like, anyway. Plus, I'm watching Elfen Lied at the moment which is brilliant, providing you have a strong stomach.
  3. I can blow air out of the side of my left eye. I have a "tattoo" where I got (accidentally) stabbed with a pencil by my friend.
  4. Yes, well, some people like to make other people think that Japan is worse than it is. God knows why.
  5. I've started watching Elfen Lied... so far, it's pretty screwed up. But good.
  6. A happy birthday to all six faces.
  7. My preferred analogy is to think of it as water flowing through pipes, with the width of the pipe being resistance. Water will flow faster through two narrow pipes at once than through one narrow pipe. (I know this analogy is a bit flawed, but that's what makes it an analogy...)
  8. To be honest, they are probably funded by bacon companies.
  9. Yeah, they always churn out this pointless stuff. They probably get paid more than people who do useful or interesting stuff though.
  10. Interesting... how does one find out member number?
  11. I got a chocolate orange egg. My mum told me about it beforehand, but she bought it without consultation. I had the same one last year, so I'd have preferred a different one, but at the end of the day it's still chocolate.
  12. I think this is fundamentally flawed. If you have 5000 WoW gold to give away, why do you need sex?
  13. Actually, they love people visting their country- they get to be all welcoming. They sometimes hate people living there permanently.
  14. Well, as for weather, I think October is the right time to go, as it is apparently swelteringly hot and humid in the summer if you're somewhere like Tokyo. Also, don't make the assumption that everyone will speak fluent English to you- that's like assuming everyone in France is fluent in English. Get at least a phasebook, and practice a few common phrases. (assuming you don't know any Japanese)
  15. Doesn't really bother me, if it is true. But yeah, Japan is known to be very expensive. You have to decide for yourself if the price is worth it. Though apparently, nowadays, Tokyo prices are about the same as London prices, as Daft has pretty much confirmed. They do charge ridiculous amounts for some things though. For instance, anime DVDs have 2-3 episodes on them, and cost about £40 each. (compare to the UK where 4-5 costs £15)
  16. Some of them are racist- racism is a bit more prevalent in Japan than other countries, with signs such as "Japanese people only" in shop windows and the like. I sometimes think Japan has a similar social atmosphere to 1930's England. As for liking UK meaning you hate Japan, I think that's an unjustifiable sweeping statement.
  17. Yes, you do that. Long ago I realised that this is the road to victory. In fact, as soon as I got past 1000, I stopped caring about post count. +1
  18. Well, merry 1000 posts. My celebration was concealed in grey beneath my post... and I never made it on C-E.
  19. Targets attained: complete phoenix wright 2. Targets started: learn kanji, study go, play go, finally sort out Minish Cap. Targets I'll be starting today: Play FFXII. Targets for next week: Go to my 18th. I've already been on holiday for a week, but that doesn't count as I was dragged on a holiday with my parents that I didn't want to go on.
  20. Right, I get the biochem and all, but I don't know what the hell you're going on about here.
  21. Haha, you're right. For those who don't understand, go up to two books on a shelf, and look at where the inside of the front cover of the first, and the back cover of the second, is.
  22. The bookworm question is yet to be correctly answered. A hint: think about the books on the shelf. It is hardback, it takes an hour to chew through any cover.
  23. That's strange- are they both the same complex, or is the iron in a different oxidation state? The polydentate organic ring thingy (can't remember the name) presumably has the same structure in both. Now, for my question (not quite trivia, but it'll have to do)... Two volumes of a dictionary are sitting in order on a shelf. Each volume has 3cm of pages. There is a bookworm inside the front cover of the first volume, and he chews through to inside the back cover of the second volume. If he chews at a rate of 1cm of pages per hour, and one cover per hour, how long does it take him?
