  1. That's cool... good luck with sleeping.
  2. I know, you know, but that was advice for people who couldn't speak Japanese at all...
  3. Good name, what kanji are you using?
  4. I know it's a good idea, but lol at the thought of someone shouting "EIGO GA WAKARIMASU KA" in the street. By the way, if you don't want to sound like you're attempting to imitate non-Tokyo dialects, that's pronounced "A (the letter) go ga wakarimass ka".
  5. Here's a good one to try on people: "What is the integral of 1/(cabin) (with respect to cabin)?" "Um, logcabin? Haha." "No, it's a houseboat. You forgot the c."
  6. It is entirely possible to learn Japanese at university without an A-level in it. However, an A-level in a language, even if it's an ancient language, tends to help.
  7. Very true. I feel like killing people who say "it goes positive when you move it to the other side"... Why use parts, when the answer is lnx (+ c)? Wait, that maths makes no sense whatsoever. Was that the joke?
  8. Wow, thread hijack... Remember, if (Japanese) people tell you your Japanese is skillful, it means it's bad. And ask policemen if you get lost.
  9. Just this one: Two atoms bump into one another. One says "Are you alright?" The other says "No, I lost an electron." "Are you sure?" "Yeah, I'm positive." It's old, but it always makes me rofl. Okay, okay, no more. Edit: I feel geeky for getting all of these... I thought for a second I didn't get the mu one, but then I remembered...
  10. All the functions go to a party, and there's lots of fun going on, but then ln(x) sees e^x standing all on his own in the kitchen. He goes up to him, and says "Come on mate, try to integrate yourself a bit more." e^x looks backs forlornly, and says "I keep trying, but it always ends up the same". And one for Chris: Number 6 is running fast down the street, and bumps into e^x, who says "What are you so flustered about?" Number 6 says "There's a differential operator after me, if he catches me I'll be nothing!" e^x says "Don't worry, I'll sort it." He goes up to the differential operator, and says "You can't do anything to me." The operator replies "Nice try, but I'm dx/dy." More? No, thought not.
  11. Yes indeed. We asked our maths teacher if there was a binary operator that was commutative but not associative. He came up with something that worked after a few seconds, something to do with a modulus. Can't remember it though... Edit: Remembered it- |x+y|. Easier than I thought...
  12. That's a coincidence... I was doing partial differential equation last Friday. Heat distribution along a metal bar and all that.
  13. Ginger Chris speaks the truth, as he usually does with such matters. And there is no need to put in brackets, as the order of operations is clear. Also, this is boring.
  14. I agree with everyone's sentiments on the first AzuDai episode, though I do find myself inadvertantly singing the cooking song sometimes.
  15. Not counting shounen, pretty much every anime is 26 episodes long, as this means it lasts for half a year if an episode is broadcast every week. The only non-shounen exceptions I can currently think of are Suzumiya Haruhi, Honey and Clover series 2, and Elfen Lied. And they're all significantly less than 26 episodes.
  16. Those things are so cool. Giant woodlouse = win.
  17. "Gaggle Birthday Happy64!" is what the title made me think, for some inexplicable reason, though probably something to do with the fact it's twenty to 2. Anyway, happy birthday.
  18. Somehow, NE helps me do work. If I'm getting a bit bored in the middle of some coursework, I quickly check this site, then go back to the coursework. So oddly enough I am most active on this site when I have nothing to do and when I have too much to do.
  19. Another thing I have heard is that it helps to get your destinations written out on a piece of paper, so that you can show it to people if they don't have a clue where you're talking about.
  20. He would also like to add that he deleted Zelda Freak from his msn ages ago, and doesn't agree with him.
  21. I don't buy the thing about stopping teaching English. This is the closest article I could find, yet it doesn't say anything of the sort.
  22. Good buy with the second, but the official DVDs look nicer. (which is rare)
  23. Happy birthday, Mr. 19!
