  1. Hmm, more idling on my part... but nearly done this maths paper. Was researching echinoderms, and came across some crazy page about a random village in Japan where they cook and eat starfish. Anyone fancy some?
  2. I understand nothing about how this works legally, but I advise you speak to someone who does, seeing as I fail to see a way in which they can prove what isn't true beyond reasonable doubt.
  3. Day of procrastination for me. Ideally, I should be working for another 3 and a half hours, but I am free on Tuesday...
  4. You may not realise it, but his pearl of wisdom is highly relevant to the discussion.
  5. My dad once caused a bomb scare in Kings Cross... back in the days when most people didn't know what computer monitors were, a box he had containing a CRT was stolen, and got left on the platform, presumably when the thief realised it wasn't something they could sell. And the whole station got evacuated until they sorted it out.
  6. I'm guessing Gonzo were outsourcing for the Mouse Road arc - look at things like RomeoxJuliet (lol) and you'll see they can animate... to be fair, Mouse Road is probably the worst arc of the show. It's not nearly as bad a sin as some of the things DEEN did for the first season of Higurashi - for instance, they in-house animated the water pistol fight, then outsourced the key roof scene in the last episode...
  7. Yeah, the animation and sakuga quality is hardly sublime, even if the story is. But it's fine if you're not spoiled by Kyo-Ani or Makoto Shinkai or somesuch. Hmm, perhaps I should investigate the manga...
  8. I've seen the anime and would strongly recommend it - it's easily one of my favourite shows. I hear the manga has less inhibition.
  9. Yeah, for people doing natural sciences or maths... I actually have 3 on Saturday. Nobody has any on Sunday though.
  10. I get a broken link... Anyway, will look more into this S85... what does it do that a cheaper model wouldn't?
  11. How do you know it's not why you like Letty?
  12. I don't hold much value in appearance - it's the person that's important. However, note that if you really like someone, you will start to find them attractive for biological reasons. I hear the brain effectively programs itself to overlook features it doesn't like. So there shouldn't be anything to worry about.
  13. He gave a presentation at my school (it's his old school), and a couple of people in my year ended up having dinner with him and the headmaster. I suppose if I really wanted to eat with him I could go to Caius formal hall...
  14. Hmm, not too bad. Had an awesome lecture in the morning - it was so good everyone applauded at the end. The provisional subject was genetics, but it was actually about all sorts of obscure things like Aristotelean theores and the like. And we have this guy for another 6 lectures! Then I spent ages in a bookshop (Heffers) waiting for my friend to be ready for lunch, ended up buying Nabokov's Pnin and a book about linguistic misconceptions. Had Pizza Hut buffet, talked about a load of crap as per usual. Then I played some online go, which was awesome as ever. Then we had a bop (party thing) in the evening, which was fun despite being unable (read: not bothered) to procure an 80's costume. Got pretty pissed, ended up playing ssbm on a projector until about 2am. So yeah, bit hungover now... have decided to miss out on the always fun optional maths lecture.
  15. Hiro clearly has the best power.
  16. A little. Now next time I go into Canadian byo-yomi, I'll have to try not to laugh.
  17. Often said to be the greatest chess player ever. I don't play chess, so I don't actually know that much about him... but I think he also invented Fischer time.
  18. Current rules are one change only. Do you still want to change?
  19. Have you read the novel? I read it over Christmas, and thought it was utterly brilliant, but I have yet to see the film. I hear it's good, but I fail to see how it could be as good as the book. /"What is this pink spider thing, and why do I have control of it?"
  20. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7195840.stm So, apparently the chess player Bobby Fischer died today at the age of 64. Despite being a chess legend, and inspiring many people, he had extremely controversial views, such as supporting the September 11th attacks and being anti-Semitic... many people think he had gone slightly crazy in his old age.
  21. Sounds like the definition of a meme to me.
  22. Awesome, there's one catchphrase. Edit: On second thoughts, I think "Pedants' society" or "Pedantry society" is more acceptable.
