  1. Unless you were talking about coffee, there's an inconsistency in your testimony.
  2. Damn you jayseven, I can only think in iambic pentameter now! Anyway, bonus question: 15.
  3. 6. Here we go: You see a man who loiters on a stool, Why he is seated there you do not know, You'd think that it was not seemly at all, Augmented by the ever falling snow. "Why is he there, what does he do?" you think, and pull your hood around your tired eyes. You watch as he reaches out for a drink, "Oh great; a drunk," - well, that is no surprise. But then he undergoes some kind of shift, A god, of sorts, lurks right beneath his skin, You see his soul, somehow it is adrift, The world departs, you sense an actual sin: Beneath his shawl a song of evil breaks, And in your heart a deadly pain awakes.
  4. Yeah, I'm useless at anything involving rhythm... I failed my grade 1 trumpet sight reading.
  5. My (gaming) friends are all that guy for GH3... they laugh at people who fail to get 70% or better on expert mode. Note: I have played the game once, on easy, and didn't manage to complete the song.
  6. The last thing I queued up outside a shop for was a Tamagotchi, and I must have been about 7. If I really wanted something though, I wouldn't really find midnight a problem - hell, I've stayed up until 6am on a uni night before now. If worst came to worst, I wouldn't go to bed at all... I do that fairly often.
  7. Reading that page Gizoogled had me laughing for about 10 minutes.
  8. Right, so I've finally fully sorted out my change to linguistics. I can do it, but only if I get a 2:1 or better. I should hopefully be able to manage that *touch wood*, but it'll be horrible if I don't. Oh well, all the more reason to work.
  9. I didn't mind it, but it was nowhere near as good as season 1. The finale also seemed rushed, presumably because of the writers' strike.
  10. Today we have the epic day after St. George's day pub quiz.
  11. Good god people this is the internet, everyone's an attention seeker of some sort.
  12. I haven't seen the first episode, but I think the writing's a lot better this season, especially in terms of dialogue. "I'm Spartacus." "Oh, so am I."
  13. To be honest, applications of maths annoy me, and I'd rather it stayed protected from the nasty world in a little glass tower. (sorry, I know you're a physicist and all... ) But then I think that about all subjects.
  14. It's more fun than curly arrows...
  15. FP3 is win, though I didn't take the exam and only learnt the juicy bits like group theory. Even so, the idea of doing it without first doing FP2 seems slightly insane to me... but then again, it sounds like I was on a different board to you. (OCR MEI)
  16. If her team loses then she'll probably be for it... otherwise, maybe Lucinda, assuming she's not on the same team.
  17. Between those two steps I simply multiplied top and bottom by t^2. You have to be careful in questions that give you the answer, because you need to make sure the examiner knows that you genuinely know how to reach the answer. This means it's generally best to try and work out the answer, then compare it with the one given in the question. However, provided your steps don't make too large jumps (i.e. you are able to reasonably do them in your head), then your working should be fine. This can be a problem if you like to do loads in your head, because then you have to remember to write steps that the examiner will believe. But means you're less likely to make errors, anyway.
  18. Are there even any St. George's day traditions? Sprouts ring a faint bell... *wikis* Hmm, nothing doing. Ah well, happy St. George's day anyway. I shall wear an imaginary rose in my lapel.
  19. Wow, that chemistry just took me about 7 hours... it's satisfying when you work out what they want you to do though.
  20. They say that in... Pokemon? Seriously, it sounds more like some dodgy porn or something.
  21. Like Sanchez says, Kyoto Animation. They're famous for doing very good Key visual novel adaptations with brilliant animation. Other series they've done incude Air, Kanon (2006), The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi, and Full Metal Panic: Fumoffu. Anyway, when I say illusionary world I mean the place with the small girl and the creature made out of junk. I don't see what else there is not to understand - I'm just listing characters.
  22. Ah, jolly parametrics. well, dy/dx = (dy/dt)*(dt/dx) = (dy/dt)/(dx/dt) dy/dt = 1 - 1/(t^2) dx/dt = 1 + 1/(t^2) thus: dy/dx = {1 - 1/(t^2)}/{1 + 1/(t^2)} dy/dx = {t^2 - 1}/{t^2 + 1} dy/dx = (t+1)(t-1)/(t^2 + 1) (using difference of two squares in that final line) It is a differential equation, but separation of variables isn't going to work and the question specifies use of the integrating factor method. Separation of variables is by no means the only way to solve differential equations; in fact it's merely the tip of the iceberg. Anyway, I'm afraid your equation is too evil for me to solve...
  23. Peter Crouch became enraged when he discovered he had been turned into a small girl.
