@liger05 - it wasn't just the characters that let it down. That hub world was terrible.

But yeah I really can't wait for this. I was never a huge fan of Sonic until a few years ago really. I played and enjoyed Heroes when it first came out but could never get into the 2D games and only liked the first couple of levels in 2 Battle. But about 2009/10 I got loads of the old games on VC, the original, 2, CD and loved them all. Then it grew almost into an obsession with catching up and in the last few years I've played (and enjoyed) - Sonic CD Sonic R (to an extent, but moreso the music :P) Sonic Adventure Sonic Adventure 2 Sonic Colours Sonic Rush Sonic and the Secret Ring (was okay) and most recently... Sonic Colours, Generations, Transformed and M+S@London 2012 (which is far better than people give it credit for) - All four of which have been some of my favourite games in years. I'm totally in love with the series now! So I'm dying for this new title. Other Sonic titles I've played in the last few years (which weren't so great).... Sonic Episode 1 and 2 Sonic The Hedgehog (2006) The Black Knight Sonic Fighters Sonic Riders Sonic and All-Stars Racing (love Transformed but find this one incredibly dull). So yeah, some really bad ones in there too. But whenever I hear the '3D Sonic games are shit' debate I can't help but think they haven't really given the series a chance. Its sure had its ups and downs but there are definitely far more great 3D games than bad ones. So yeah, I'm excited.

I got to page 5 and had to give up I'll never view Sonic in the same way again.

I've only played the 3ds one weirdly enough and actually really liked it. That could be because I have nothing else to go by though. Is the N64 game on Wii virtual console?

Just watched this and was very impressed

Yeah, I heard a lot of complaints about the sea and how long it took to get from one place to another but I've never felt so free! It was also so exciting finding those tiny islands that weren't marked on the map.

Played Balloon Fight today, after dying a few times I angrily turned it off. That damn game is worth no more than 30p!! (I love it really, it's just way harder than I remember)

I was bored on Netflix a few weeks ago and stumbled upon a show called Freaks & Geeks. I reluctantly gave it a chance... fast forward to right now and my god... I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S OVER One of my favourite tv shows in a very long time, so it's a tragedy that it only lasted for one season. Check it out if you've got the time! This feature looks really cool. I also thought that one shot of the Pikmin hiding in the bush was so cute :P But really, it would be great if they had this feature as standard in every Wii U game, it would be great looking through Miiverse posts.

Unfinished mess?! I can barely read this thread without turning back into an angry 13 year old fanboy :p WindWaker may not have been completely finished (they missed two dungeons I hear?) but as far as style, gameplay and open worlds are concerned, Wind Waker is incredible. It's the first game that got me into Zelda and my favourite in the series. But I do think the game would have been fine without the triforce hunt, Nintendo don't have any excuses for expanding the title in such a cheap way.

Can anyone remember the game WALK IT OUT!? It offered great gameplay features such as 'walking using the Wii Balance Board!'. Sadly, you couldn't actually walk using the Wii board and instead had to stand on your tiptoes and then back down to replicate walking, whilst also destroying your feet at the same time. This feature could be fully realised in the next Zelda game, I feel. EDIT: Perhaps that's what the horse riding peripheal was all about. My Pet Epona: Mii + U

That's why :p EDIT: As a comparison, each Pilotwings game sold about a million each (the 3DS title slightly under). Yeah, it's not always about sales, but with the Wii U as it is Nintendo need to do all they can to get the casual crowd back on board

Yeah, if Amusement Vision did still exist we'd also still be enjoying great Super Monkey Ball games. And I'll be honest, I haven't been a fan of the last few Zelda games, so I'm far more hyped for this Wind Waker in HD than the other mystery Zelda title they spoke of.

That's exactly what I thought, the new trailer reminded me so much of Viewtiful Joe that I just have to get this game now!

The first one was really fun in multiplayer (more so than Mario Party, at least) but the video for this looks far from exciting :p

The music in Metroid Blast is so good, it's one of the reasons I keep going back to play it :p and I have to disagree about the controls, I thought the wiimote controls were amazing. That said, I usually hate dual analogue so I suppose it's just what you're used to. I totally agree about the lack of online, it's ridiculous, with Miiverse and such, that friends high scores don't appear on the minigames!
