Apparently the EU beta holders have found it hard to get a game whilst it's pretty easy to find one in US.
-
Well here's some footage of beta. Nobhead commentary though.
-
I have tested it with bots and it is much better. I think medium sensitivity with the precision aiming thing turned on works best for me. The difference is actually amazing. I don't know why they didn't have it like this earlier. Aiming with iron sights is a piece of piss. I think more deaths per game will result, but also more kills. It's now feasible to turn and shoot quickly.
-
Yeah I can't actually get online though, it times out. I'm glad that they have made air support better, (more accurate, more durable, turrets don't track it as easily) reduced Assault armour resistance and friend joining is easier. Need to check out the control scheme but I can't if it's not logging in! Could do a skirmish.

Patch 1.27 is now available. Here's information: http://n4g.com/ps3/News-339966.aspx

IGN are doing one with fileplanet but it's US only. Can't believe the misfortune, if my english exam was earlier in the morning (ie. 9AM as usual) then I would've got this Will have to try and get one if there is another site doing it. I guess one man's bad luck is another's good luck, so I hope you enjoy it Deathjam.

FUCK OFF DEATHJAMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please Aimless, you know what's right! If I had woken up normal time today that beta was mine!! Why do I never get them?!
-
Oh god that is desperate. Pretty much everyone was in agreement that the controller was good, I was always saying it would be great if the PS3 could use the Wii remote and it looks like there's something like it now. Sad one-upmanship, noone 'hates' the Wii, and it's not like Natal is anything like the Wiimote anyway.

I've used this word already today but it's games like this which just undermine trophy/achievement systems. Obviously it's hard to get difficulty level similar across the board but 11 golds is too many for any game let alone a 4 hour length movie-game tie in. Just shows it's the actual trophies that count, not the overall number. I mean Buzz has a gold called 'Lonesome and Loving it' for playing 250 games on your own or something. Pathetic.

I thought Choze was hyping this vid but I decided to watch it and was actually very surprised with the graphics. That's similar to GT4 surely? I recognise the track. Thing is if you get GT you may as well get the full experience on a home console, doesn't seem like the best portable option. Arctic Edge definetly looks worth a look. Going to get back into PR.
-
No but I said for a decent 360. For £180 you get more things that make the 360 worth having i.e. online and HDD. DS is £150, whereas the 360 tends to be pushing £200 to be worth buying.
-
Yeah it's disturbing how I want that female character strip. No questions what I'll do in my first play-through. I'm an asshole. Does depend on what the game allows.
-
When is it sheduled for release. I haven't really bought many unconventional non-formulated games before, so it's going to feel like spending money in a different way. I think I can tell it's going to be worth shelling out because of the experience it puts you through. Non-game of the year 2009?
-
Well it's just the fact that Drake is so eccentric and slapstick. No-one in real life would make comments like 'Oh boy' and 'Here we go again' whilst jumping from rooftop to rooftop at the same time as being gunned down by a chaingun.
-
It'll be £180 just like the original PSP. They wouldn't sell any at a higher price - you can get a decent 360 for that, which is much better value. Although you are comitting to buying a lot of stuff for it.
-
Yeah Sony really fucked that side of it up. They got the interface and online right but for some reason they didn't make total BC standard (probably because 60GB models have flaws - and don't even play all PS2 games) which was a Daft move seeing as they sold millions of PS2s. They could have thrived on their PS2 market but no.
-
^^ Up two Except the users that own PS3s and use it as their main system actually have a brain. I was quick to put down Sony's attempt to do motion controls, but it turned out to be decent. I'm critical of some things playstation, but when I see bullshit posted on the forum by mindless wannabe nintendo desciples that now think that business acument is better than talking about fun then it needs to be stopped before this whole forum collapses because of it's nonsensical members. The arguments have always raged and always will, this isn't too much different from the normal cross-board discussions, we even have the democratic figure coming in the form of Dohnut trying to stop stuff in a pointless attempt to cool things, but stuff like this has to be debated and resolved. However it's like arguing to David Cameron's devil child right now.

I think it is about time I dipped my toe into the handheld market once again. Despite selling all of my portables prematurely (excluding original gameboy pocket) i.e. the GBA and DS, there are always games worth playing on them, and if I can pick up one on the cheap from a trustworthy seller (probably Go second hand) then great. It still depends on support and game cost. I think if big titles cost £15 then I'd be sold, however the lack of second-hand games market does worry me because i don't like paying RRP unless it's a good title.
-
Is it this one? If so it made me realise how awesome this could be, the whole story control element - it will be gripping. I don't know why I got turned on by the fact you could make that woman strip in order to change events...

Please write it again. More impressions are good.

Well you didn't realy say that, you said Which is short-sighted because it simply isn't true. Sony wouldn't bring it out if they didn't think they could benefit from it. It can basically enhance games that were already good on PS3 and make them even better if the controls are suitable for it. How do you know Sony won't release another major innovating title like Flower and make it mind-bendingly innovative? Believe it or not Nintendo aren't the only innovating power, maybe in hardware terms often but software innovation comes equally to all consoles.
-
Who cares if you know most of the games before the conference? The fact is that the trailers looked sublime, the motion controls were a massive surprise and well demoed, 2 unheard of exclusives were shown (FF14, Modracers), and there were tonnes of games that little was known about that were revealed further. The fact that many Wii owners from the Wii board were convinced that they needed a PS3 shows that the conference was a hit.
-
Well graphics were just a bad example (but relevant because it isn't what Nintendo are excelling in atm) but if I like the look of something they do I will say it and have said it. You want to not like something despite your best interests. You feel like you need to tell everyone that you aren't impressed despite the euphoria that the conference caused. It was unanimous that the conference was funny, well presented and layed back. For example when you saw Trico or Guardian whatsitsface you at first said it looks good but then followed by making it sound dumb... It's exasperating.
-
Look, if Nintendo came out with an amazing graphics system that topped the other consoles I'd take my hat off to them, maybe even rejoice. If Sony does the Nintendo fans sneer and can't swallow their own pride (as if there is pride in being with a company) and say that something looks good. Shino and Zechs I'm talking to you, and you're bound to deny it, but it's just so blatant.
-
Those 'issues' are so trivial Zechs. At the end of the day, as someone else has said, why should Sony not use this? If you're bitter that the PS3 has this and it looks decent just say it aloud instead of hinting it. Knocking it before it even has a proper reveal...
