In the majority of the quests you have to be good either because you are forced to or because being bad just doesn't make sense.

Yeah ps1 is the way to go. I had it on PC and it's pretty much the same, bar the controller. I don't want Raving Rabbids, I want my classic Rayman!

Never played any of the games but what was awesome about that? And Fergy I think you can download it from the US store, problems only arise if you buy an game with an online mode IIRC.

Some cages were well hidden. Great once you had all of the smiley faces on the map though. I thought the evil Rayman chase was scary.

Well I didn't see why they changed it. It works perfectly, and hampers aiming slightly, You may say that you have not issues with it but everyone could perform better with constant aims. All games have their issues, but that's not the point, we're talking about the aiming/controls.

Yeah I think I had both versions at some point. GBA suffered at running it. I don't suck! I used to be pro at it when I was 8! There was one boss that pissed me off though, and one platforming level with falling drums. Although I found that easier when I was younger. Platformers can be frustrating because they are full of temptations for you to fuck up.

Well aceleration/deceleration same difference. It should be constant. No-one complained about Resistance controls and Insomniac hasn't had to offer different methods.

I'm glad they are reducing the armour. As well as the Air Support being more powerful. I don't think the controls will be that much better, it doesn't say that it won't be accelerated... Give it R2 controls!

Yeah it looked decent, hover boots interesting but still focuses on weapons unsurprisingly. Uncharted 2 will be game of the year.

Well I think if the PS3 can do all that stuff then obviously they should have it, but it does still baffle me. They could make it sleeker still, for example instead of listing every option, divide it into advanced options etc.

I know. I played it today and some of the stages are rock hard! It's so simple yet to date no-one has quite replicated it. I think it is better than the 2D mario platformers even. Maybe it'll have to remain just as a good memory, some things are left in the past. *Sobs*

Rayman 1 Thinking back, this is probably one of the biggest games of my childhood. Played it last night and today and it is still a marvelous game. Very retro in places but that's what gave it charm and is still bloody awesome to play today. More platformers should take note of this, because I want more of the same type of style this game stood for. It was difficult yet rewarding. Rayman 2: The great escape I guess we may also use this thread for Rayman 2: The great Escape which was the first and in my opinion the only good 3D Rayman. In fact it was brilliant and I remember being exited when I had the demo for it on PC. I jizzed when the final copy was in my hands after I finally got it for PS2. Did anyone else play the 2D Rayman that was about numeracy and literacy?

See I didn't think it was worth £8. You can get better games for that money, it's not exactly a remarkable game, and neither will it be a game you will play online for that much time. Still need to get flower.

I was playing Rayman earlier (the original 2D game) and christ it is good. Love some of its retroness in design. The platforming is solid, the bosses are fun and has great sound. GIVE ME MY PLATFORMER!!!
