They should be arrested for stupidity (I am so angry!)

The banner I do not find offensive. Now a remake of the Omen on the other hand... -
£400? Actually, that's not at all bad. Sony must be prepared to make a huge loss on each sale at that price though.

Leave for about a day and try it again - if your fan has failed, (which may happen occasionally) your processor could be pretty badly overheated, and you need to let it cool for several hours before trying again.

Definitly that great Fair-Trade chocolate. All the competition tastes like synthetic crap in comparison - because they are. Look at the ingredients on a Mars (what the hell are emulsifiers?). Fairtrade choc? Coa-coa butter, sugar, and assorted forms of milk. Like the great confectionary angel intended.

The forgotten war- Korea 1950-1953. That last picture is the signing of the truce in 1953, both the Allies and N. Korean & Chinese fearing a perlonged war with each other.

Ayrton Senna hit the wall in Imola in 1994 at a speed in excess of 192 miles an hour. What actually killed him was his brain disintigrating against the wall of his skull as he hit the wall. Suspicons ranged from muder by sabotage, to negligence and even suicide. After a great deal of investigation, including a high profile court case with the Williams team on charge for manslaughter, it was revealed he was unable to steer or break, as his car had lost all downforce when the bottom board of his car touched the road going into the corner - in essence, he quite literally flew into the wall. That corner has since been changed into a chicane, now called the Senna S.

This was a pretty tragic event in formula one. A lot of safety, car and track design rules were changed drastically after this. Some people still believe Ayrton Senna was murdered. I recall watching the whole thing live. He was a legend of his time. You can see footage of the crash here.

They can't just stick so rigidly with the same format though. because a) it would start to become stale and b) it wouldn't make any sense in terms of character development. I mean, c'mon, Leela finally fell for Fry properly at the end of season 4. Lets face it, it was going to happen eventually.

Is there reason why Hollywood hasn't made a major blockbuster about the civil rights movement?

Hmmmm, I'm not so sure about this. Futurama was great, but I felt it went out on a high and I was looking forward to see what Groening would do next. Still, I'm not expecting the quality of the show to disapate anytime soon. I hope they do an hour-long "wedding episode" or something - they seemed quite intrested in doing that on the directors commentary in season 4.

Is Britain sleepwalking into a dictatorship...

That's a very bleak and simplistic view of local and national politics. First of all, there are still plenty of channels through which the public can air it's grivences to their representives at local and national level, including lobbys, parliamentary commities, and so on. Ever watch the BBC Parliament channel? It's the greatest channel in the world. There's everything from debates over hospital trusts to local school authorities, ministerial investigations, sub-office debates and regional policy as well as the usual like Prime Ministers questions. A recall a few weeks back watching the lobby fighting for compensation for ex-coal miners pitch their case to the parliamentary commmitee. The means for ordinary citizens to represent themselves in an official capacity are redily available. Furthermore, if people want to move away from a two-party system, why not vote for a third party? I mean, why doesn't anyone? Even with the first past the post system, if they only win by a small margin, their real political power could be next to nothing, especially depending on the council ballot. Imagine if a small number of the population in a single area finally saw sense and voted Green? Even if they failed to get the national seat, they could overun the local council ballot and claim a huge amount of power with even a handful of council seats. If your worried about party politics, why not vote for an independent candidate? Hell, stand yourself if need be. Alternatives exsist. USE THEM. -
I don't care what anyone says, gaming is not a sport. Sport is designed in order to push the mental and physical limitations of the human system in a competitive enviorment. I just don't think gaming does all that.

You faff on about 4D all you want, in the end there are only three actual physical dimensions that we can interact with. I also don't trust something which has spent the last couple of weeks screeching around the Gamespot PS3 forums from someone calleing themselves "noob". Don't ask why. I've just got this gut feeling.

Is Britain sleepwalking into a dictatorship...
gaggle64 replied to mario114's topic in General Chit Chat
I must say, I agree with you there. I believe in a free democracy, but there's a point where it stops being a clean, organised democracy and just falls under a mob mentality. You're also quite right that people probably should vote for who they want to win, not who they think will win. I personally make it a point when I vote. Besides, even the smallest parties have a decent shout in the local council vote. I suppose who will get X amount of seats and who will get Y seats might change who you vote for though. Of course, that's their business. Secret ballot and all that. -

At least you're voting. There's no shame in a protest vote either. I'm currently almost past caring who people vote for, so long as they vote. I think I'll start some kind of cheerleading group next election or something - just to get people to take some intrest and action in their democarcy. -

To start off, I think we need people to sodding vote. I'm sick to death of people complaining they don't have say in their democracy, and then only about half the populoce actually turning out to vote at all. As the mighty Rory Bremner noted during the 2005 election: "After over four years of complaining bitterly about the Blairite government, the electorate finally get a say in the matter, and what's their reaction?: 'Gawd, I wish they would hurry up and get this election over with.'" Final voter turnout? Up over 2% from 2001 to a mighty, er... 61%. Great. Oh c'mon, it's not as if there isn't enough choice. On the right you have New Labour and the Tories. Centre you have the Lib Dems. Go left you find the Greens (who I may vote for come the next election), and on both extremes you have the likes of the BNP and the Socialist Party. Ever looked at a ballot sheet? Trust me, it's longer then you think. This is why Peter Snow has an "other" column. EDIT: Also, I'm not sure a preportional government system would work very well. I personally feel it would cause political instability, but that's just my opinion. -
F Zero GX - Have you unlocked the AX tracks?
gaggle64 replied to david.dakota's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Arrrgh, screw this, I'll come back to those AX racers later. I think I'll kick back and start unlocking those disco videos I've been hearing about. -
Shit, that's not right. That's worth reporting to the cops - it's not high priority obviously, but it's still intimidation. With a bit of luck, thay may send one of their community officers if they're available. Best make sure your with friends when you go out - these assholes love to intimidate people, so do everything you can to show your not controlled by them.

Although I'm not big fan of Labour or the Iraq war, it was quite honerable of the Blair government to take it to vote, even though they were not required to do so. Although if they had lacked the support of the Tories, I do suspect they might not have bothered. I feel quite confident with current Palimentary procedure as it stands, all being said. I just feel, god forbid, this or similar legislation is succesfully smuggled in (in a similar American fashion to Blair's early terror laws - although a failure, it's clear he's spending to much time with Bush) it can only be the start of a long slippery slope to the demise of a currently stable democracy.
