What I don't like is that this gives the industry and not the consumer control over where revenue goes. How do they monitor the most popular artists for example? Surely they'd just be guessing, handing cash over to the pop-rap-Xfactor-mime-shite producers and probably disadvantaging smaller artists? It's like a weird form of corporate Communism.

I love the Keanu Reeves-esque emotion in the voice acting.

Nuts, how'd I only get a draw out of that?

You and Rez are the town fools. You get drunk a lot and keep accidentally getting into mischief which regularly brings great misfortune upon the town. In my head, you once accidentally urinated on a sleeping dragon and the whole village was nearly destroyed were it not for a mysterious stranger with a golden sword and breastplate who warded it off.

Wall-E Superb, it works on so many levels. On the one hand it's quite a cheery romance, on the other, it's an unremittingly bleak warning as humanity continues to spiral into it's own commercial squalor. We had to skip early to catch a bus, but I can't imagine what it could do to spoil what had been a sublime and magical tale up until that point.

Definitely getting Left 4 Dead, I'm moving into a house with a couple of mates with Xboxes, and this game is going to rule hard. I didn't particularly like GoW either.

I've always analogised this forum as a village (New-Europe) living on the fringes of one of three war torn magical medieval dystopias, and then daydreamed stories out of that. Characters include Jordan (blacksmith) and his mildly unsuccessful Alchemy girl Lettice ("Look, it's blue!") Fierce, the mythical warrior, Artie and Dan, a pair of young, rambumtious twins, Eenuh the artist, Bluey the cross-ocean explorer, Raining the melancholic bar wench, Mr Fish the demented mayor, Rok the misunderstood rock monster, Vicar the Vicar, blah blah etc. and so on.

Which forumites would you take in to a zombie apocalypse?
gaggle64 replied to Dan_Dare's topic in General Chit Chat
My team: Jordan: His mad tech skilz would come in handy if we needed to bust into secret zombie-making facilities, and he's worked customer support, so he should be well used to mindless monsters spitting and screaming at him. Dan Dare: Being brain twins, we could easily blast away any zombie hordes with our unstoppable psychic energies, but the others will have to hold them off while we hover in the air, our muscles bulging and screaming "kame-hame-ha" at each other for three straight episodes. martinist: "Just give me a gun and I shall shoot stuff." Suits me. He is my buddy after all. How else are we going to incorporate a scene where I have to shoot the zombified corpse of someone I love anyway? -
I'm bored with that though. Touching somebody else is much more fun.

Lonely Guy Only Steve Martin, the true Steve Martin, the Steve Martin that used to run wild and free in the bush lands around LA and hunt yuppies for meat before he was finally subdued by daring executives and fed from a box made of money, only THAT Steve Martin could do a brilliantly surreal and hilarious comedy about loneliness and the related suicidal depression. Beats the shit out of Bowfinger.

They seem to be rather missing the point of homosexuality. "Since you lust for men, here's a steamy communal shower full of physically fit young males, who all suffer from the same urges. Make sure you help each other scrub up! I'll be back in twenty minutes, I'm trying to get this all-female cooking class to lick each other's cream puddings."

Secret Rings was easily the best Sonic game in the last decade or so. Secret Rings was an OK game. OK, but not great.

Well that was just a superb second half after Glock's suspension failure. Lewis had to pull a big drive when McLaren's strategy went slightly awry but pulled a couple of superb overtakes to take it. Excellent result for Piquet too. Better from Kovi as well I thought, more attack in his drive. Still a bit to go, but better.

Think you'll remember this place in years to come?
gaggle64 replied to Wesley's topic in General Chit Chat
I'm not convinced I'll survive long enough in the real world for it to become an issue. -
You'll want to go through the full beginners tutorial at least once.

I've long since convinced myself that the entire Sonic franchise is now a bet to see how far they can push the public. Right now the mere fact that there are still people prepared to buy their games is the single most impressive feature the series has to offer.

I think Alonso will stay at Renault too, the way everything is stacking up he has nowhere better to go anyway. I think we'll see some really big moves across the teams in 2010, as old, young and all new blood comes, goes and gets shifted about. Heikki's got next year, but only next year to start punching big (as he really should be now) and I'll be surprised if both Honda and Toyota aren't already eyeing up Nakajima.
