  1. Spent the night watching the Olympics coverage over a particularly difficult level of Advance Wars. Excellent silver medal there in the cycling time trial, and special props to Phelps, as well to all his dripping, wet, firm chested, half naked, throbbing, washboarded colleagues across the world.
  2. Woo, the British mixed Badminton double made the last eight. I remember the final last times in Athens, highlight of the entire games it was.
  3. The Cat Returns. School girl rescue cat prince, gets transported to the Cat Kingdom, turns into a cat and gets rescued by the statue of a cat, a fat cat, and a crow. Not bad. I'm filing this one under "WTFN" (Why the fuck not?).
  4. The also faked the footsteps element of the firework display with CG. Anyway, Britain seems to be doing reasonably well. I enjoy the canoing, the strength, stamina and technical skill clearly required is very impressive.
  5. It's been, like, three months, since I even had an excuse to get up the morning. I've just stopped eating out of boredom.
  6. It's not supposed to be funny, it's just totally freaky.
  7. Yay! The local tool and ironmonger's opened up again and let me purchase the fuse wire I needed! No more pooping by candlelight for me!
  8. It was about 4am I believe. The Olympics seems to have coincided wonderfully with the total destruction of my sleeping pattern recently.
  9. Sirens wail, military personnel deploy onto the streets, parents grab their children and flee for shelter. Not even Bruce Willis and his team of all-American blue collar space men can save us now.
  10. Werd. Pay your gas bill and inhale that - central heating and dangerous levels of hallucinogenic intoxication. What more does a body need?
  11. Am I the only person who watched Britain's Gold/Bronze swimming haul live?
  12. Sounds like it. Next time the DJ puts "Soulja Boy" on again I'm going order a large Bicardi just to ram the entire glass down somebody's throat out of disgust.
  13. Interestingly enough, girls hate me! We should team up!
  14. South Ossetia won a degree of autonomy following a civil war in the early 1990s and declared independence but have never been internationally recognized. Georgia did break a 24hr ceasefire, which Russia almost certainly used as an excuse to move in. The Georgian president was elected on a mandate of recovering territory lost during the civil war. In recent months Russian support for the separatists greatly increased after NATO suggested that Georgia could one day become a member, which would make Russia completely surrounded by NATO territories. This attack on Georgia will almost certainly discourage NATO from accepting Georgia as a member, as NATO are eager to avoid a major conflict. Also a new pipeline running across Georgia from the gas fields, bypassing Russia, considerably reduces Russia's influence in the area.
  15. I'm simply adoring the multi screen options available online, the Beeb have got this shizzle cranked to eleven, as the kids never say. Enjoying the sailing highlights right now. Boxing went well today I see. Shame about the hockey result mind.
  16. That old quandry, eh? You have several options: a)Invite him to come to the pub for a drink after work. b)Invite him round to your place to "listen to some music." c)Club him over the head. d)Hire a team of mercenaries to kidnap him and come to his rescue. e)Hire a team of mercenaries dressed as Daleks to kidnap him and come to his rescue. f)Hire a team of mercenaries dressed as Daleks to kidnap someone else while you watch and use the anecdote to strike up a conversation with him. All the classics really.
  17. The default answer is Diana Rigg playing Emma Peel in The Avengers, in case you ever get stuck.
  18. Blah. Sod my brother and sod his late-late-late-night/early morning stir fry addiction. So many dishes! I hate doing the dishes just before I go to bed, but I hate having to deal with it first thing I wake up to. Sometimes he's a really nice guy. Sometimes he's an ass.
  19. This is what I found so amazing about Wall-E, you can watch it almost any way you want to, it's just so captivating. I looked at it as a spoof of Blade Runner myself.
  20. Dreamed the whole thing, but it didn't feel like I had a presence in the first bit with the beetles, I was just sort of watching it all. I think you're right actually, it did feel like a really surreal movie. Get Jim Carry on board, could probably make something out of this.
  21. Wasps are OK, just as long as you leave them alone. Bees tend to be the more vicious ones, they got territories to protect. Just don't get in their way.
  22. I had the weirdest dream last night, woke up feeling like I had been drinking all night.
  23. I like to watch the Olympic games, as others have said, it's always great to see new and unfamiliar sports, and it's great to watch the best in the world doing their thing. Also, the BBC's promotional for it this year is just sublime.
