  1. I've said before that I don't think the power is the big issue, it's that the architecture is too different to the other consoles, so the porting of games isn't just scaling it back and toning it down, it's building/modifying an engine to work on it as well as that. The devs see it as too costly and resource heavy to be financially viable. They need the architucjeture to be similar to the other consoles, not necessarily as powerful, just similar enough so that ports are easily and as cheaply as can be done. I really do believe this is the only way they'll get 3rd Party Devs back on board. I think they should make the controller uniform in the number of buttons and analogue triggers. ...but I do like the idea of another Wiimote-nunchuk combo (not with the same design though and both would be Motion+ standard), effectively 2 nunchuk controllers, with D-Pad and buttons off-kilter. The size of the New 3DS XL D-Pad and buttons should suffice. That controller talk is because I still want pointer controls in FPS games, haha. I'd be ok with a standard pad (analogue layout as with the WiiU though).
  2. We really need class slots in this. I'm wanting to set up numerate ones for different maps and playstyles. It's beyond frustrating having to back out, change stuff and then come back in again.
  3. Again, I think you're wrong. If a team is colouring the map and coordinating together, these things do help. When I died in my example I gave, if I hadn't told Zechs he might not have known immediately and then two people would have got behind our lines and started colouring in our territory. Yet I told Zechs I died and where the threat was and he stopped their advance and made them respawn, which in turn allows us to gain even more territory because there are fewer of the opposition in the battlefield... it's as plain as day that it works. Killing doesn't count towards points but if you kill the entire team then you have free reign whilst they respawn so you can advance even further down the map, pushing the enemy back and reducing their territory. Killing is very important still. Come the august update when you can party up and search games as a team you'll see how tactics come into play if you game with us.
  4. I'd completely disagree @Kounan, the more I play it the more I see the need for voice chat. It's not too fast paced and that the games are short doesn't mean that you can't have tactics. Even something as little as quick call-outs help. When I was playing with @Zechs Merquise the other day I spotted a roller drop down from a higher platform and go for Zechs, I just said "roller behind you Zechs" and he quiclly turned around and dispatched the roller. Another time I'm pushing my way down a flank on one of the maps and got taken out by two of the opposition. I simply said two coming on the left flank and Zechs turned, whipped out his bubbler and killed them both, stopping their push forward. Having gamed with Zechs all throughout the CoD days, we know how to work well together which helps us communicate but also, it's the forward planning prior to matches even starting that is most important, so that you can make little adjustments on the fly with simple call-outs like we do.
  5. @Kounan, I'd recommend Batman Arkham City of those listed.
  6. I only watched the first season thankfully so my interest in this is probably higher than what it would've been had I continued to watch it.
  7. What's her excuse for not wanting friends talking to each other whilst they play?
  8. I'd have chatted on Skype, haha.
  9. I'm about to head out shortly so I'll post again later but I played CoD on both the 360 and on the Wii. I had a blast on both but it was on the Wii that I gamed with other N-E folks... and we had an absolute ball with CoD! @Zechs Merquise @lostmario @welsh_gamer @ben @Nightmare @Mokong As the N-E Clan on the Wii, we completely dominated online. Black Ops being my stand out of the series online.
  10. @Rummy the Zechs and my posting wasn't trolling and it was confirmed not to be. Zechs posted how he thought Mario Galaxy (2 if I recall) was Game of the Year for him in a thread where, at the time, the topic of conversation was if the game of the thread should be Game of the Year. That's not trolling, it's just an opinion. His post got deleted, so I posted the same thing (it was my opinion too) and it didn't get deleted... we just pointed out how some people get unfairly moderated to which it was said they thought he was trolling, just because it was Zechs.
  11. This is the truth of the matter. I've been as harsh on Destiny as I have with Nintendo and online, yet on the Other Console boards there's no Ronnie making snarky comments to my views only to antagonise. When discussion does break out it's actually a discussion, as I found when I was posting in the Last of Us thread giving my opinions (I felt it was insanely overrated) there. We actually talked about it as opposed to snide remarks. Over here we tend to get the back-handed comments and baiting from Ronnie. Now when I say this, please note that I actually quite like Serebii and feel he sometimes gets unwarranted flak, but also when he does defend Nintendo, he pulls out the most outrageous and sometimes blinkered views it's beyond me... but the thing is, he is never an arse, he nearly always says his views in a manner befitting the place. Yes, Nintendo have got me down this generation. I feel they've lost sight of who they are and who their actual market is. As a fan of theirs, I feel disappointed and angry at times and I vent. I should probably try and be less colourful in my language when doing so.
  12. If there's one thing that's really annoying me with this (other than the lack of voice chat and partying up) it's that you have to back out of lobbies to bloody switch weapons! ARGH!!!
  13. One thing that must be true with the honest trailers video is that 90% of people that play this are awful... I got it this afternoon and have been completely owning almost every game. Scores ranging from 1000-1500 and top of the team almost every time. That Bubbler though, it is a beast special. Can't wait to hook up with you guys on Skype and dominate the opposition. Still desperately needs voice-chat and partying up with friends though... and class slots, more maps on rotation, changing class set-ups in game and in lobbies etc etc.
  14. @Serebii, he did say he wasn't clued up on sales figures, your post doesn't explain much. Yes @Ronnie, they'd be happy with that, it's a decent enough timescale to reach 1 million.
  15. Of the games released on WiiU this year, regardless of review scores, only Xenoblade looks AAA to me... so in that respect I agree with @Wii.
  16. Kav

    Destiny

I'll put this on at some point to play through the second lot of DLC but once I've done that I'm trading the fucker in. I don't think I'll ever touch a Bungie game again, robbing cunts.
  17. They need to add a number of slots to set up different classes. Having a lot of weapons is great but annoying if you have to keep backing out and changing equipment on the one character.
  18. Here's the thing @Ronnie, NOBODY at all has said the WiiU has only platformers. They've said it has many and then too many more are on the way, not enough other genres.
  19. This statement isn't correct.
  20. Even though I have huge objections and find things infuriating about the game, I have just bought it after @Zechs Merquise twisted my arm.
  21. Going in with an "open mind"..? What are you guys on about? I know motion controls, I used them for bloody years on the Wii and still on the WiiU, I can safely say that I think they're not done well here. It's not about having an open mind, it's about knowing they could be better. It's about seeing how uncustomisable they are and wondering why Nintendo restrict you to their way and not let you adjust them to your preference. It's about them not allowing you change them on the fly during matches to make sure you're playing as comfortably as you can be but forcing you to wai the whole 3 minutes until you can back out and adjust them. It's more bad design! If a 3rd Party developer was doing that on the Wii but Nintendo themselves don't do that on the WiiU, it's not that I don't have an open mind, it's Nintendo's fault for being shit!
  22. It's daft, it's infuriating, it's NEEDLESS! @Serebii, if I can change sensitivity on the fly it'll take mere seconds, it's not screwing over the team. I'd change the sensitivity and then I'd contribute for the rest of the match, don't be silly! @Ronnie, yes, fuck this game. I don't care that people enjoy it, I care if I enjoy it or not. I'm sure I will when I eventually get it and set up the controls to how I like, but as a first impression it really is a backwards, unfinished and, as a result, an under-par game. CoD on the Wii had better motion controls (fully customisable). I do think it will get better mind, come the August update I reckon it'd be worth buying.
  23. So I played a couple games at @Zechs Merquise's and my first impression is that the motion controls are dogshit. I'd love a Wiimote on this but how they've set it up with the pad is terrible. I'd like to use the analogue sticks for full control of aim and motion control to fine-tune, but that you can only do it so you can only use the stick to look on the x-axis and then the motion control is for the y-axis isn't natural enough, it's jarring. So I switched it to analogue (no way I'm using motion control when it's not done well) but the sensitivity was so insanely high it was terrible... I know I'll change the sensitivity... oh, I have to wait until the game ends. Fuck this retarded game, cannot be arsed with these shitty design flaws! Cannot be arsed!
  24. It's not about the controller or thinking you'd "lock" the 3rd Parties into developing. It's about offering them far greater reduced costs in porting a game to their console. This is the only way Nintendo have a chance of getting 3rd Parties back. It's all well and good if the console comes out a powerhouse, but if the architecture isn't similar enough to the other platforms then it'll still cost too much to port games across the platforms and so it's too big a barrier of entry. They need to remove that barrier!
  25. You don't listen. It's like me saying Splatoon is the same as CoD except you can turn into squids and paint the floor. I don't see the difference but you do. You're not taking any of it onboard, it dramatically changed the way you play the game is what Hero and I are getting at, but for some reason that is beyond me you cannot understand this simple thing. Maybe you've head a brain injury or something, I don't know, but my word you just cannot comprehend the most simple of things.
