  1. I'm secretly extremely selfish, in terms of my own safety/life. Unless it was like, the population of world dies If I live, I'd choose myself everytime. It's not like I'm going anywhere after this...so I kinda have to stay around as long as possible.
  2. Dear Miami by Róisín Murphy is my new favourite song about Global Warming.
  3. Walk The Line I only knew a little about Johnny Cash, and only knew Ring Of Fire and Walk The Line by him, which I think is a good thing. I had no expectations. I thought it was great. Quite a sombre tale in parts, but the music was great, as was the acting. I'd only ever seen Jaoquin Phoenix in The Vilage, where he kinda had no room to act. 8.4/10
  4. A few nights ago, I had a dream that was one of those long storylike ones. Only one, very strange, bit remains though. I was making out with Adele. As in the singer. Now, I have no idea what that would be. I knoe one of her songs in passing, don't find her attractive in any way, and haven't talked about her, in, like, ages. So that was a bit weird. Then last night, I had some horrific dream about my exam results, which just made me sad, as I know they're going to be awful.
  5. What would the point of him being a villain in the future be? In the comics, he's kinda crap...most of the time, he just commits dull crimes, and just ignores whatever result he gets on his coin, and kills innocents. Never liked him. They did him perfectly here, and Two-Face had to die along with Harvey. Therefore neither good nor evil wins. (Although, good won over Joker, as had Two-Face lived, Joker would have had a small victory) ----- And Joker dying would, to me, be unfulfilling. Batman is a rookie, he's learning to keep his rage in check (the Batpod scene demostrates him losing his cool for example). He doesn't want another Ra's Al Ghul, just letting him die. Joker laughs as he falls, indicating that he has no qualms about his impending death, but Batman can't let him have his way. Think about how ecstatic Joker was when he was falling to his death compared to how silent and perturbed he was in jail. Joker lives = Batman wins.
  6. Deadshot was in the Gotham Knight DVD release, which is based in the Nolan-verse, probably indicating that Nolan had no intention to use him. Also, Prometheus would be a more interesting character to take down that parallel route, although, I think that's already happened with the Joker. Chaos vs. Order and all that.
  7. Bring It On 5.5/10 Not as funny or clever as it thinks it is. Refreshing to see a teen film my sister own that actually has swearing/sexual innuendos, rather than everyone magically having no sex drive or temper. Gets above a 4, due to the opening sequence.
  8. But that would destroy his whole bag. As is said in the film (and is a staple of the comics), he and Batman are two sides of the same coin (See Two-Faces metaphorical prescence in the film having a point? ). Batman will never kill Joker (in both comics and as evidenced in the film), and as Joker stated, he doesn't want Batman to die, either. --- Read the IGN article, and I don't agree with Talia's prescence. She's never been mentioned (unless you count Ghul's brief mention of "having" a family in the past, which in any case sounded like they'd died), and rehashing the originals story is a bit rubbish. Riddler I like, and he;s the one everyone thinks will be there, but if not, I want the other idea, of the gang wars, featuring Black Mask and maybe other "named' villains, like Penguin and Ventriloquist. I think having Black Mask would allow for a decent, Nolan-esque origin for Catwoman too, going by the relationship they have in the comics. Though his torture of Selina's sister could be off-screen/in the past, in provides a realistic origin. Like in Returns (and Catwoman ), instead of being a plain old thief, she could be out for revenge, using espionage and thievery to do it, until she teams up with Batman to try and bring Maskie down for good.
  9. I need to go and buy the DVD of Batman Forever. Considering I watched like every Batman thing I had before seeing Dark Knight, and still am (Moved onto the 90's TV series videos I have), It's a glaring gap that needs to be filled in my collection. Plus I'm in a Riddler mood now.
  10. How come you have such good music taste?! ---- For me, it'd be Björk, Tori Amos, Portishead, Antony + The Johnsons, CocoRosie, Goldfrapp, Radiohead, Tricky I get lost in their music, you have to draw your own conclusions in each song, which I value. Music that lays it all out for you always gets somewhat of a thumbs-down from me, compared to any of these artists. Seeing Björk live was probably the best night of my life. It was too good. Most current/new bands I find very dull. I generally dislike the new thing of singing-not-singing in a think accent. I'm bored of it now.
  11. My hair doesn't hang long, like Haggis, it was just all big and masses of it. That, and I don't do any sciences. That was one of the reasons I thought they could use against me, but then, when I was using Bunsen burners and has big hair all over the place, I'm cautious enough that I'd shove it out of my eyes and behind my ears and stuff.
  12. I have to agree with you that the pace is much, much different, and it's a less intense ride. I just love the realism of Nolan's movies, though the aesthetic of Burtons, as in the style overall is more attractive and fun. I think that it works, as Batman would slow down as he got more experienced. Allthough, to be honest, we all know it was partly slow-paced due to the fact that the Batsuit was notoriously hard to move around in! Although, Returns is as much a good adaptation Batman as TDK is; Returns being a fairly normal, long-panning, slow-paced story typical of the comics normally, while TDK is more like the huge comic arcs that crop up from time to time, where the pace is relentless, and Batman is pushed to his limits, reminding us that he is human, like us. I have to say, I think if Keaton were the age he was back then (or even younger) I'd want him instead of Bale. With the flexibility of the current Batsuit, we could actually see him in action for real. I think he looked better in the Batsuit, and I liked the aloofness of his Wayne more than Bale's more typical Playboy version. Only problem was Keaton's curly hair, always threw me...Batman shouldn't have curly hair! Random reason for not loving him as Bruce, I know, but it just causes him to not be the Bruce Wayne I know and love. So yeah, I prefer Keaton as Batman, but I prefer Batman himself and how he performs in the modern films (obviously more accurate to the comics). I remember liking Kilmer too, but I can't remember fully why. ---- And the Forever vs. B+R thing, I have yet to buy Forever on DVD, so had to base my rank on my last viewing about 6 years ago, which I can't remember fully. Whereas I watched B+R recently, and was entertained thouroughly by it's campiness. I mean, it doesn't take itself seriously, why should we? We have the grittier, more definitive series of Batman films now, I can laugh heartily at previous efforts without feeling robbed of a potentially good film, like many felt when B+R came out, I expect. I actually like all the films, in their own way.
  13. More like putting Batman so low down! Why's that..? It's really good! And I watched it a few months ago, and it changed my view of Nicholson's Joker, who I never really liked. Plus I like the two reporters POV angle, which in a way I missed in Returns.
  14. The way you seem to have fallen in love with Joker, you would have done well to see at least Begins...though the first 2 Burton Batman films are great in a different way, too.
  15. I think I've had like...one revel in my entire life, and it tasted like shit.
  16. Returns WAS my favourite before this, simply because they made Catwoman and Penguin work in films, and I love Burton's interpretation of them. However, The Dark Knight is not only a far superior film in most ways, It also captures the true darkness of Batman. Burton is dark in a light-hearted way, an aesthetic way, I think, which I do love, but the Joker (this version) > Catty and Pengy, for me. Opinion though, and all that. EDIT: Why don't we rank the Batman films? I'd be interested to see everyone elses lists. 1. The Dark Knight 2. Batman Returns 3. Batman Begins 4. Batman 5. Batman And Robin 6. Batman Forever Batman and Robin is only higher than Forever, becuase I haven't seen Forever in ages so can't rate it properly, and I find B+R just hilarious to laugh at.
  17. Well you could maybe take what he says with a pinch of salt, as he lies about stuff. However, I think it ties more into that he doesn't think about the consequences of his actions, or more accurately, the repurcussions of his actions, and how they'll affect others. His plans were all to do with him furthuring his attempts to drive Gotham mad, which was a personal desire. I dunno...It's complicated and hard to figure out. That's the point, though, with Joker. : peace:
  18. My school is most likely fairly relaxed, especially to the 16+ age group. I was asked to cut it once at the start of last year, and I just stalled it for so long, they eventually forgot. They obviously got tired of asking me! Also, a friend of mine has one of those scaffold things (I think I told you on MSN), and again, at the start of the year, she was told to keep her hair down at all times, but she wore a ponytail most of the year, and no one cared. It in no way affects my education having crazy hair, and I doubt anyone elses. And if parents/potential parents of the school think it's vulgar or whatever, that's their problem (literally, something must be wrong with them), not mine!
  19. Mama Mia! Went in with little expectation. I'd seen the musical yonks ago, and I enjoyed it, as ABBA where such a great music-making force. However, it was a huge big bundle of fun. I loved knowing the words to all these songs I'd grown up with, and I preferred the film version, as there's more detail that helps, than on stage. Meryl Streep was great, as was all the cast, actually. Except I hated Pierce Brosnan's voice. He slaughtered When All Is Said And Done. 7/10
  20. I've had it all my school life, and I think it's actually an ok idea. I don't like that they think they can dictate what your hair looks like though. That's always been the one thing my school and I have never seen eye-to-eye with.
  21. And Emma Frost. I jumped for joy when I saw her.
  22. I knew you'd appreciate that!
  23. Use Facebook, used to use Bebo. Basically never used my MySpace account. It's just so damned ugly.
  24. I was just thinking of my most awkward one, and then it hit me. GOD! This is just awful. This a few years ago, like 2-3 years ago. I was sitting in Maths, and so one does, for no explainable reason, I got one of those really annoying semi-erections...how that happened through long division is anyone's guess. Anyway, I knew that it would go away by the end of the lesson, and thought to myself "I hope I don't get called up...why would I though? They never call us up to write on the board!" Of course, about 5 minutes later, the teacher did. I was shitting myself when the teacher called out my name. I like sat there for a few seconds silent, then said "Um...oh by the way! I think I have that homework...*digs around in bag*..for you. Oh wait, I don't." "Just hurry up and come up to the front!" I sort of stood-up and knew I needed a few seconds to stall, before I could actually leave my desk fully. "*stares at board with fake concentration, whilst still half stood, half sat* ...Actually, I don't know If I know the answer to this one..." "But we just went over it!" "Oh, right you are. :)" At that point I was able to go to the front and complete whatever equation I had to. So it was potentially FAR worse, but no one knew/realised.
