  1. Well, we never see them, but then there aren't many long panning shots. Of course, the actual ansser is that they were pretty much destroyed in the first one remember? Or at least the section leading to Wayne Towers.
  2. The Dark Knight has a better story, simply because it's so fucking intelligent, how it all connects. However, enjoyment is much different to how good the plotting/story actually is. ORLY? "Transformers>Atonement" j/k Well...why? It was the exact same Gotham shown in the first one. The first one is just mostly set in the annoying-on-the-eye-to-watch Narrows. We see the developed inner city in the first one, a lot. That happens to be where this one is mostly set. It ties into the fact that he's no longer a rookie. Batman:Year One shows him using the poor parts of Gotham as "training", and to gain experience, and this was somewhat true in Batman Begins. He gets his ass handed to him by Scarecrow in the Narrows, first time. The Dark Knight shows his progression as a crime fighter. The Narrows are being rebuilt, and while he'll still be fighting crime there, the issue the film deal with is this much larger threat, sensibly targeting Gotham as a whole. ------
  3. No. ---- I love Hercules + Love Affair so much. They're so good. This is their new single "You Belong".
  4. Found out I can't go and see neither Tricky nor Santogold during the festival. Damn 18+ venues.
  5. Haggis posted this a while back. Put me down as "Not a fan." I think I prefer that Best of Both Worlds song I heard a zillion times last time I was at Disney. I'm not against bublegum-pop, but it's too "aimed-at-children" for me. --- The Kills are doing a small UK tour soon. In celebration;
  6. Red Skull's a generic villain. "Oh look, I have a red face. And some instant-death dust, than somehow, in the 70 years I've been trying, I've never used on Captain America. Oh, and I'm still a nazi, btw, even though there's no point in being one anymore." The writers realised he was shit, so they gave him a cosmic cube (item of infinite power). IIRC, Captain American beats him with a sword. He's crap. Black Mask is the disturbing/horrific/brutal/realistic sex. ---- I just, out of curiosity, read the original draft of the script for Batman Returns. I have to say, the way they included Robin was very well executed, and did prove me wrong somewhat that a Robin (of some description) couldn't be included. However, while still dark, Returns was still on the right side of silly, unlike Nolan's films.
  7. I stopped watching the second season. I can never intentionally stop watching something that I sorta like, like Heroes, but I forgot to watch it one day, and didn't bother picking it up. It was like the second episode with Elle in it. It was just spectacularly shit. I mean, really. I'm really not interested what Hiro is doing in hell, or wherever, and I couldn't have given less of a flying fuck if Claire ended up with mysterious flying schoolchum or not. (I did quite like they way they tricked that bitchy girl in her class, IIRC, though)
  8. I haven't watched it in yonks. Literally seen like one "new" episode, and that was 4 years ago. I liked the movie, actually.
  9. Not really. Sure, I can't imagine Tom Welling in the classic costume, but at least looks like a young version of the classically strapping, bulky Superman. But at least he's not meant to be playing Superman yet.
  10. He's not anything like Joker. Joker isn't a torturer...he's too impulsive and random. Black Mask tortures to send a message, to make people pay. Joker's only mention of enjoying his murders is when he cliams to know someone as they die by being stabbed. Black Mask kidnapped Catwoman's sister and brother-in-law, keeping both in a dungeon (IIRC) of some sort, before torturing both, and eventually killing the brother-in-law, before forcing her sister to eat her own husband's remains. And as Chair said, he tortured a teenage girl with various surgical tools and a power drill. That's beyong quick joy-killing. That's extremely sick. He's taking care over his brutal actions...which is arguably worse than just blowing up a whole load of people, who die instantly. --- I should stop writing essays about Black Mask, but yeah. Batman's villains are in general insane (except for a few like Penguin, Catwoman and arguably Bane), so one has to know what their insanity manifests itself as.
  11. Ditto. Very good animation work!
  12. This'll be awful. Sorry, but I can't look at Goku's face. It's they got everything else costume-wise right, then got some wimpy-faced child to play him. This'll be shit.
  13. I was wondering that too. Got my Cd from him today too! I really liked it. ---- I'm sending mine tomorrow, sorry about the lateness. I'm only sending one though, since I got one address. I assume that's right. I mean, I could send 2 discs to one person...
  14. Yes. He's the only "Ganster" villain I actually really like, from Batman's rogue's gallery. Penguin is a bit shit, really, and worked well enough in Batman Returns, with Burton's transformation of him. Ventriloquist is worse than Penguin. Black Mask is actually a torturer, brutal, and insanely anarchic under his organised crime veneer. I clapped for 5 minutes when he (basically) tortured The Spoiler to death. He does the dirty work himself. because he relishes it.
  15. I think It's a beautifully made sig, but the "The Villain" bit in the top left throws it all off, for me. And I'm not a football fan. 8/10
  16. While I like that it's Cap Falcon unmasked, it's too fuzzy. 6/10
  17. Robin is of course a famous character who is almost as old as Batman, at around 70-something. However, I've never felt he was integral to Batman, the character. He was introduced as comic relief back in the day, and while I do like Tim Drake, a child/teen within one film being able to stand beside Batman is a ridiculous idea. He's not necessary in the films, I don't think he should be added because he's a main character in the Batman mythos. Bruce would never take a young boy under his wing, nor would he accept Robin, were he independant (shown in The Dark Knight, his unnacceptance of other vigilantes). If they were to have a "sidekick". They'd do better to have someone like Huntress. Batman disagrees with her methods greatly (using over-the-top force), but she can damn well handle herself (and her enemies), so she remains on the streets. She's an adult, though. If they introduced a Robin with that kinda attitude, he wouldn't be acceptable, he's a child/teenager. What do you mean by your last statement? That it's not truly dark? Of course not, it's a film based on a comic that isn't actually a psychological thriller/horror. However, he's made it as dark as possible, within the limits of "the summer blockbuster". --- I think to even introduce the idea of sidekicks, have Catwoman in the next one. She and Batman would have to work together against the Black Mask/mob/whatever the threat is, all the while Batman questioning whether he can trust her. (Inc. some plot where she wants to kill Black Mask, but Batman won't let her, etc) I think that would work.
  18. Robin is the worst possible character they could intoduce to the series. It'd be worse than having Ace, the Bat Dog as his new sidekick. Seriously. Batgirl would be 10x better (based on Cassandra Cain Batgirl probably), and I still don't want her. --- I quite like the idea of Depp as The Riddler, just cause I love when Riddler is portrayed as a dark character. However, on the other hand, I feel he's too famous to be in it. (If you get me) Nolan likes using B-Popularity actors for the most part, and those that have a great deal of skill (Except Katie Holmes...). --- I'm still sticking with my preference for a War Games-based story for the potential third, introducing Catwoman and Black Mask. Penguin and others like Ventrilioquist could be in it as minor characters, but possibly not at all. Only because I don't see Riddler working well in Nolan's universe. He can't have the elaborate traps like in the comics, it'd look silly.
  19. 7/10 Works well. I like/find intriguing how your skin is strange shade of yellow/green in those photos. A bit She-Hulk-esque.
  20. As good as Sin City is, this avatar could be greatly improved on. The fact it's not a square basically means it's not good. Very few non-full area avatars work, and that pic doesn't. Try and find one that'll fill it all out. 4/10
  21. Oh yeah..so he is. Last time I saw Gladiator was when I was about 10, though, so I forget things.
  22. Maybe they'll give it a real video, with girls...y'know, kissing girls...
  23. *shrugs* I have no idea, I got that link off a DC message board. Her features and poise are too agressive, if you get what I mean. She's not slight enough, and she's never shown vengeful or angry very well in the films I've seen her in. (Except A Mighty Heart, but that doesn't count) Though she does have perfect eyes for Catwoman. But then people keep telling me she's the most attractive woman on earth and I don't see it at all. Occasionally there's a good looking picture of her, but apart from that, nope. I can't really describe what I feel Catwoman needs. Michelle Pfieffer was perfect, but there's no one that really is stunning, like her at the moment. I think someone with that kinda stunning face, without being amazonian (like Angelina, IMO). Winona Ryder, maybe? Dunno what she looks like nowadays. (I suppose Angelina could do it if she wasn't stick-thin when she was in the suit. I think her lips are too big too.)
  24. Angelina Jolie rumored to play Catwoman I pray to god that this never happens. She's been an ok actress in a few films I've seen, but she's so NOT Catwoman!
