Sigur Ros and Bjork, as already mentioned. They get it right...the music on the recording is important, but it's the live music that REALLY counts. And they bring it. All hail Iceland.

I've now read a couple of negative and mixed reviews of Watchmen (not fully). It seems that the whole thing just suffers without the knowledge that it's a deconstruction of "The Superhero". This is evident in the book...but on the cinema screen, I can't imagine it working as well?

I just watched P!nk performing the opening song to her MAMMOTH tour, from last. (She touring for a whole 3 months exclusively in Australia, as well as doing the rest of a world tour after/before) She was singing her single Sober while performing fucking high-wire acrobatic tricks. Like fucking...trapeze but swinging really fast and stuff. And she was still singing! Very few people know how to give a performance nowadays...seems she's one of them.

It's a big graphic novel. Can't remember, as I borrowed it from the library, but it's lengthy. Of course comics are quicker than books to read, but this, as I mentioned is split 3 ways, and the less frequent but more-requiring-of-your-attention bits add to the length. You could read it in 2 days comfortably. A day if you're bored/get into it.

Don't trust whoever said that. There's 3 sections basically; The main comic strip dealing with the immediate story, the pirate comic that some guy is reading, and then various articles that are meant to be taken from magazines/books, concerning the history of the characters. The pirate comic is an allegory to the main story.

Despite that being the most derivitive song I've heard in years (Dead Or Alive sample/chorus, and I recognise the backing track), it's thumpiness and sense of delayed urgency please me. It's not "fast" or "slow". It just is a good beat. I can't believe I said that about Flo Rida. Paj Will Do.

I love the purposely obtuse sexual imagery in Stela Gibbons' Cold Comfort Farm. I started laughing in class today when we read it (Our teacher reads it so well, really passionate and a good actor), talking about "voices sounding like throbbing rods" etc. Literally my favourite book, since it's a hilarious satire. And the way he main character Flora generally purses her lips at the abundance of sex, controversially (for the 30's, the book was banned in Ireland) promoting condoms.
