  1. I'm actually still just at the start of the second season, but I saw the one with Robin's past on TV with a friend a while ago, and just remembered.
  2. Well yeah, but I meant like...actually having personalities that feel kinda realistic. Not necessarily exactly how they're portrayed in the comic.
  3. Especially if it's as based on Ultimates as I've heard (which was written very well, with good character bits).
  4. Was out last night with peeps from school, it was fun. Cabaret Voltaire stuns in the fact it plays music to blow you sideways, and it feels like people are there for that reason. The most mainstream it gets is extremely remixed Little Boots or Santigold. And even then they're great to hear. The only thing is, I can tell I'd prefer it if I were more drunk, but I find it really hard to get drunk while out in town because I hate spending money. Just give me a bottle of wine and let me be free.
  5. Rufus Wainwright - All Days Are Nights: Songs For Lulu David Byrne + Fatboy Slim - Here Lies Love £15 something total for preorder.
  6. Should I read Second Coming? I hate Cable/Hope/The future etc.
  7. Surely in Joanna Newsom's case reading the lyrics is just what people do cause no one can be bothered to just sit down and listen to it without distractions? (or don't have time). Listening to music on iTunes while doing a million other things on the net (usually how I end up listening to my music) isn't condusive to taking music in. That's not her fault. I understand why you're saying (I think); that you'd prefer it were short and sweet, and that to you the length and in-depth/convoluted/whatever the word is lyrics shouldn't be there cause they confuse the points she's trying to make (if any). Have One On Me is that, to me. YS is far harder to penetrate (except melodically, where it's far more superficially accessible). ANYWAY LET'S CHANGE TOPIC.
  8. Yeah it was a joke. Because as you say it depends on how you connect with it. I find her [original adjective] because I haven't ever been a monkey married to a bear/ found myself transformed into a puppet/ been moved to try and get a dead bird to fly again by climbing the treetops, or whatever. But she makes me feel I have. There's almost TOO much stuff that connects with me on the level of "Oh that's relates exactly to me." (as in there's loads of music dealing with the same things the same way). I think that's why I value her...I get the same (a more powerful) emotive response from her, despite the events detailed only mirroring my life in metaphor or symbolism or whatever.
  9. I didn't mind Web Of Shadows. What was so awful about it?
  10. *notices the I Heart Molly" mug* Where is Molly? I'm terrified.
  11. Oooooooookaaaay...whatever works for you. *looks away, smiling* p.s I don't mind Interpol.
  12. Yeah, it's hyperbole, my life hasn't changed it's course because of her, or anything (even if we may write that it has...). BUT [iMO] She is an extraordinary, unique talent. It's like she is such a cut above the rest it's ridiculous. Everything else is kinda below her. (imo, regarding the stuff I like/listen to) [/iMO] It's not like with most artists where they have 1 or 2 songs with a really interesting or arresting image that you think "Wow, that relates to me/the topic really unusually but effectively!", almost all her stuff is meticulously crafted to fuck you in the face. She, for me, manages to convey things no one else has/is (in the same way), the complexities not only technically of her material, but more importantly...lyrically, melodically whatever. She just addresses things you'd never think about; a mothers decision to abort (despite seemingly loving) her unborn child, as she unconciously stream-of-conciousness-ly links the lives of her and her partner with a possible future in which her baby was born. For example. And that was probably quite exaggerated as it is. But it's how it is for me.
  13. The guy who was in my (and Chair's) year at school is gaining popularity very fast and it's quite surreal. He's been on TV a bit recently, GMTV, T4 and stuff, and now his single enters iTunes chart at 40 -something. It's just weird. Oh well. It's not an awful song. It's been stuck in my head for a while. Hai Ben Shepherd.
  14. Did the streets make you feel brand new, the lights in-SPYEH you?
  15. I love. tori fraking amos!, yes. EDIT: P.S I Love You. BSG, yes. "Stunnyng" , yes. Arrested Development, yes. I vote for this to stay forever.
  16. Kick-Ass I'm reeling. It was great. So [original adjective]. Hit Girl is the personification of Chair and I's "phrases". The things we randomly shout out to describe people we see/things we see people doing. e.g "frak me in hell, bitch!" or "Of course." (after hitting someone with ease) "What do you think will happen now?" (swinging through a window on a rope) etc. I'm blown. EDIT: *reads post back* Bytches gonna get cut fo this shyt.
  17. Give me a ring, I'm ready to start my redemption. Let me cough up blood.
  18. I'm sorry! (genuinely) Deport me back to hell. It's not a fact anyway, I was actually posting in a "raised eyebrow way". I'M SORRY. *collapses to the floor*
  19. An attempted joke. Mildly interesting. -- I didn't finish the fun. album, I got half way through. It was fine/nice from what I heard. I will finish it, but it was overall nice. Bits reminded me of Mika though. Not many, but bits.
  20. That's amazing. I love them all. Especially the inclusion of Spiral of all people. And referencing the "L" women of Superman.
  21. Has that only JUST come out?! I stopped half-way through Drowned Wednesday. And that was like..8 years ago. Or whenever it came out.
  22. You don't know Rufus' truths. I'd bet money Here Lies Love will be the worst of those three. But it has such high attack and great special powers for the point cost. -- Christina Aguiler's "eagerly awaited" new single.
  23. Next Monday will bleed me dry, purchases-wise. These 3 are coming out; All Day Are Nights - Rufus Wainwright Here Lies Love - David Byrne and Fatboy Slim and (possibly) Go - Jonsi
