My tutors at college cry and light 3 candles every time he's mentioned. Not literally, but they may as well. Like laughed in disgust and horror when I said I hadn't seen any of his stuff.

Yeah my signature is on overload in my head. The whole point of Anya being great is how shockingly well she's written/funny she is, but written down it doesn't come across well enough and I couldn't find a defining quote. The Game of Life bit references a joke about said gamne, and also her obsession with money and capitalism, but then...yeah. Anyway, her face is stunning. -- Both: Reminds me so much of when Madonna sings "Mourning" in 'Ray of Light". The fact it could be Morning or Mourning, and then relating it to tears and dawn and daylight. And Jo only adds. -
I loved the remake of Solaris, but am only about half-way through the original. I'm all for sprawl, but it does seem annoyingly shuffling. But then I'm aware of the good that won't come out.

I hate most/all FPS I've ever played. I can't work them. Or they don't work with me. It's too hard to have two seperate control sticks to do move about while trying to find your enemy before they just kill you. I hate it. I like the tension of the view you're allowed, but hate the actual way they're played. But I'm sure If I could do them properly, they'd be fun. I actually enjoy Halo Co-op most when it's set to only use those little swords. I know what's going on then.

^ Sounds a little like the Muppets singing :p. I've never heard Bombay Bicycle Club before. Sounds alright though, I'll give their own stuff a listen soon. I'm sure it's better. Just got a very offputting timbre to his voice. -- Dug up this while researching music video directors; Really quite interesting, and I bought the remastered version off iTunes and it's orgasmic. I find that's why a lot of 80's/70's synth stuff sounds so blah..it just needs a good remaster.

The fact that barely anything happens, plot-wise, outside of "X is leaving the group!" or "X is trying to sabotage the group!", every episode? ---- Angel Season 1 I really liked it.- 3920 replies

They didn't "realise" anything...they just killed them then laughed about "Good shooting!" and tanks running over the bodies. They actively denied/covered it up after the fact, that's the point. No one admitted to realising how horrible it was.
-
Horrible...and just so...pointless. They didn't actually bother to check. And the revelling in the death is of course a bit disturbing.

I've done nothing, since I got up at 2.30. Though I had nohing to do today and technically woke up at 9, but chose to rest and remain. Watched the last episodes of Angel Season 1, had some of my Easter chocolate, was annoyed my CD's hadn't arrived (they come out in shops today), and bought myself a DS game. Now listening to albums I've "forgotten" about, like Flavors of Entanglement by Alanis Morissette. I didn't realise I knew most of the words.

£7.95, Zavvi I never buy myself games and I realised I have such a shit collection of DS games. The only decent ones are Pokemon Diamond/Platinum which I'm bored of, of Final Fantasy III, which I can't be arsed with atm. (Mario Kart DS is cool, but painful on your fingers)

Southland Tales Second viewing. Only partially helped me figure out what the hell is going on. It's so unrelentingly convulted that nothing really makes much sense. There's some very good stuff going on underneath...but it's hard to see. I like elements, and I enjoy the cinemaography, and a lot of it is funny. especially Sarah Michelle Gellar's political-talk show host porn star. And her music. :p Amy Poehler is funny too. It's a parallel to Revelations (from the Bible), but that's obvious. It felt like it was trying to be Lynchian...or maybe it just turned out that way. Superficially it's like a dream, you don't realise it doesn't quite make sense until it's happened. And it's all quite nice at the time. Also the inclusion of Rebekah Del Rio (she sang the song in the club in Mulholland Drive) in almost the same role (her singing acts as a crux to the events) as she had in ..Drive must be a nod to Lynch. Either way, she stuns. (Another musical bit we all love is Justin Timberlake + dancers miming to The Killers) Apparently there's a graphic novel prequel that explains it better or something. Someone on IMDB said this of it, which I felt was appropriate; "Watch it knowing it's an investment, or not at all". I agree. A highlight we can all enjoy though;

New Moon For the...3rd time...promised my sister I'd watch it with her again (saw it twice in the cinema against my better judgement too). Ugh. It's better than the first, if only because Edward Cullen isn't in half of it. It's just sickeningly horrific. Her and fuckface's relationship isn't based on anything, when they're together they just make constipated faces at each other and speak in ridiculous hyperbole, like "WITHOUT YOU I COULDN'T BREATHE". UM... Eff you. Pretty sure you left for half the film easily. I'm team Jacob. Actually a person capable of a normal conversation, and doesn't look like he might keel over and faint any moment. The whole thing about her wanting to be turned into a Vampire is ridiculous...the characters go against everything they say earlier, except the blonde one from Thirteen, I actually reall like her line, it's my favourite thing in the film except the soundtrack; "I wish there was someone to say "no" for me". etc poignant But still shit. Ugh. I hate crap. But yeah, the soundtrack's good. -- Breakfast with Scot *shrug* Fine, has really good messages behind it, and It felt like it was executed..correctly. At it's heart it was just a fairly typical film though.

Yeah...I remember someone asked Essential weren't printing all 3 of the X-team books (New, X-Treme and Uncanny), and they said "because Uncanny wasn't well-received in the US". But having read 2 tpbs of Austen's Uncany, I'd much rather have seen that to be honest. At least it was set in the mansion, and would have helped explain where the heck half the X-Men were. It wasn't amazing by any means, but I much preferred it to X-treme. X-Treme was SAVED by Salvador Larroca. Its obvious now that it was his art that made the first arcs seem all shiny and nice. If they were by Igor Kordey *shiver* it'd be a different story (literally!).

He should just stop writing. Sad as it is, his day is over. Comic book writing has moved on. He contributed some good and important stories to the X-Men (and Marvel) canon, but yeah.

Lost In Translation is one everyone but me has seen. And I can tell I'd like it. I like Sofia Coppola's other stuff (even Marie Atoinette, to a degree).

Done nothing today apart from go down to Asda and get my mum a card for easter (cause she doesn't like chocolate). I dunno why one would celebrate easter at all if they weren't religious or a fan of chocolate, but she does. Been thinking about my next film project and how I'm so bored of creepiness and overdone ambiguosity. I want my next one to be shiny and warm. Maybe including a musical number.
