I'm weeping. I found out I missed a Frank Quitely talk/signing/he-draws-you-stuff event in an Edinburgh bookshop. He'll probably be back eventually...he lives not far away (Glasgow). Since finding this out, I've managed to track down where he works. I could turn up. Although I'd rather meet him in an audience-talker situation. And plus they obviously don't let shits in to talk to them, since it's like a collective studio space thing. Also big news of the moment (to those in the know) is that the Flex Mentallo miniseries by Quitely/Morrison is in talks of being turned into a trade, after years in limbo due to legal issues with Charles Atlas (of which Flex is a spoof or something like that). But that is probably one of the greatest comics I've ever read (is, if I'm honest), and feels like the backbone of Morrison's work. I might buy the issue (despite their inflated price due to this lack of tpb format) anyway though.

Never heard of them until they were banned. They sound sparkly.

Desert island, top five most memorable breakups
Paj! replied to dan-likes-trees's topic in General Chit Chat
People make mistakes and regret things, it happens. Build a bridge. We can't be damned by a single meaningless-in-the-grand-scheme action someone finds distasteful. -
I never watched them as a child...in fact I watched them basically in correct order, as I saw Episode I first, at the cinema, then II (and then I think the main 3 on TV) and then III. They're not that good. Entertaining, but not much more than that. I do appreciate/like that it's a vast and thought-out universe, but I think nostaliga tints the series for most people.

I remember I enjoyed Back in Action when I saw it. I was about 11 though, and haven't seen it since, so can't truly judge.

I hate that kind of English accent. I don't know what it is. But I hate it. (On the main guy with the annoying hair)

Plus...who actually wants any of that lot back? Deathcry is a lol, but then again, only for a few moments. Found a blog that really appeals to me, where artists/designers/randoms redo comic book covers. http://coveredblog.blogspot.com/ Some are just the same but in their style, which seems a bit silly, but some are very humourous/well done. This sort of thing really appeals to me. I LOVE the little box in the top left, with him taking out his costume. I think that's brilliant. Lends the scene a whole kinda...story or something. Makes it more dynamic that it would be otherwise.

That Harribo one, yeah. I have a thing about children acting as adults. Or getting extra privleges to "be adult". It makes me nervous. And adverts with the stereotyped inept husband and the wise and sage wife. Mostly about cleaning products.

I read that in the Metro today. It conjures up a Madonnagif response in me. I like how they don't take into account the child themselves? I watched Batman TAS and Power Rangers and other fairly "violent" kids stuff since I could, and read mature comics since I 8-9. And I turned out fine, I've never had the desire to beat someone up. If your child's a thug, don't blame Batman.

I wasn't trying to say it wasn't... *lies on floor* I just can't bear the thought of like 1500 flying people in neon green zipping around talking about stuff I don't care about. I wasn't trying to make definitive statements - just my impressions of it from what I've read. Not trying to convince anyone of anything. But then maybe you feel how I feel when Happenstance says he's not interested in Daredevil. :p

I used to love winter, but last winter I got really down, think I had S.A.D or a similar thing. I still appreciate it as a season though. Summer is overrated. But then heat gives me headaches. Sun is always nicer than I expect it to be though. I also like how (up here anyway) when it rains in Summer, it's really nice rain. Rain's my favourite thing.

It's not an argument. What do you think I'm arguing? I just am turned off by the concept of it. I wasn't debating whether it's good or not, I've never read it (properly)...
-
No. I knew that's what it sounded like. I mean like actual human horror. And fragility. Space isn't so scary when you wield a power ring...
-
Never. For some reason I imagine you'd end up getting more aroused due to rubbing against the material (in jeans anyway). And I have too many pairs of shorts that I'm convinced you can see too much in as is. I've worn the same pair of pants if I stay over at someone's house/am lazy and laying around the house all day. If I were to go out during that day though, I'd change. Obviously.

I dunno why I'm so uninterested in Green Lantern. Probably because it's like..just space stuff. And I've always preferred space-themed stuff when it has some major counter. Like Alien being about normal people in space, and the ship not being all white and futuristic etc, it being horrible...BSG being something totally unique but set in Space as a frame (like Dan I think said), this big emptiness. The power of just ignoring the horror of space I think just makes me blase towards GL in general. From my experience, it's all about vast power and just being able to deal with space. I know it's not even all about space, but I link it to that. I prefer GL the individual - and Kyle's ring in particular, as it IIRC had limitations that made it interesting. I appreciate the concepts, and they're enjoyable in small doses, but it's just too-too much. And I hate how bright it all is. And Guy Gardner's old hair. I've not read any of the comics outside Blackest Night, but I don't have a desire to.

Is XXS adult not somewhere close to children's sized clothing? I only get XL stuff. Even if I lost a little weight/looked like a normal person, I've got fairly broad shoulders/am big, so I can't imagine what a small anything is like.

I've never had a filling or any big problem with my teeth, which has always brought me a bit of pride. However, acid erosion has fucked over my front teeth slightly.

I will play.

NIGHT 4 IS NOW OVER --- 3 Women sprinted towards a very scared looking girl. The first one to catch up put a hand to the girl’s face, and then ran off. Nintendohnut is dead. He was Pixie, the new X-Man who only wanted to help people. (Town) --- An armoured figure pulled the wind generator into the shadows. In a puff of smoke, the armoured figure and another man had suddenly switched places, but nothing came of this. --- BONUS: The demons once again stole away to Limbo, taking with them an inactive player. dwarf_gourami is dead. He was Wolverine. That's cause most useful people have died here/this has been a bit of a trail return to mafia games - not enough active roles on my part. Oh, and inactivty in general. But the 3 elements combine to make a stodgy pudding.

No. I understand it, and it does seem like people do it over less stuff than has been/is going in my head, but I have a fear of veins/blood/tendons/rubbing till it bleeds. And actually..y'know..no desire to self-harm. :/ I don't get where the initial desire to do it comes from though. Is it a knowledge that people self-harm out of sadness/depression, and so people think there's a reason? Or is it some natural compulsion..?

Paj's Irrelevant/Boredom-inspired Polls (1) Which is your favourite She-Hulk, based on any criteria? 1. She-Hulk - Jen Walters?! 2. All-New Savage She-Hulk - Lyra?! 3. Red She-Hulk - Betty Ross Banner?!
