Just saw that Eurogamer have released their review for this and have given it "Essential", their highest score! Was not expecting that, the preview they had last week when all the other reviews were coming out was extremely negative.

Learn how to use a camera properly @EEVILMURRAY! Were you drunk? :p

I still don't like Splat Zones :p Turf Wars is definitely where it's at!

Man, this game is so addictive. I don't know how they could solve it, but it's really frustrating when you have a disconnection on your team. It basically gives you no chance of winning. I just got 950p, but because there was only 3 of us we lost by something like 70%-20%! It's also strange when you see Level 18s scoring only 400p in a match - if they're that poor they must have played an awful lot of this game to reach that level!

I've just skipped the last ten posts :P What's wrong with making things accessible if there's still the option to have things they were before - i.e. perma-death? And what's wrong with adding in new features/mechanics that might improve the game? Surely keeping it the same would be stale and unchanged, what Nintendo gets criticised for all the time? To me, the Pokémon-amie like sim bit isn't to dumb down for casuals. It's for the hardcore geeks who get obsessed with the characters and want them to be their waifus/whatever and write fan fiction. It's fan service, and it's very japanese! It doesn't appeal to me at all, but it isn't going to ruin the game for me.

Never realised there was a grey NES zapper - mine is orange! Got my retail copy today, will be on tonight to re-level up (apart from a break for Game of Thrones of course!)

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

Also all over the likes of Comedy Central etc. and in cinemas. Don't know about ITV/Channel 4/5, don't tend to watch them a lot, and if I do, I record what's on and fast forward through the ads! -
General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

It's good for Nintendo in the UK. We're probably one of their weakest markets. I've seen more advertising for Splatoon than any other game on the Wii U. If they continue this level of marketing it might have some legs. -
San Andreas Average, but quite entertaining. Doesn't stand out in the disaster movie genre. Weak on plot, strong on crumbling buildings. Ended quite abruptly. Highlight was discovering that Rickon Stark's found his way to California! My 2015 list The Theory of Everything Big Hero 6 Into the Woods Foxcatcher Wild American Sniper Ex Machina Kingsman: The Secret Service Jupiter Ascending Focus Project Almanac Chappie Insurgent Run All Night Cinderella Get Hard Fast & Furious 7 John Wick The Duff The Emperor's New Clothes Avengers: Age of Ultron x 2 Spooks: The Greater Good Mad Max: Fury Road x 2 Pitch Perfect 2 Tomorrowland: A World Beyond San Andreas

Although there is definitely too few maps and game modes at the moment, maybe you just need to play it a bit less to avoid burnout. Go play something else and then just come back to Splatoon when the N-E guys are playing. It's probably not something to just play on your own for hours and hours on end, once you've got through all the content. Hopefully Splat Zones will be unlocked soon, and the new modes and maps coming over time will keep it fresh too. The amiibo stuff being locked on disc is really frustrating. I've got to source 3 amiibo, which will probably cost me around £40, to access stuff that's already there. It's more than what I'd pay for an actual game, and I only really want one of the figures. If it was just the outfits, I wouldn't be bothered at all, it's the fact it's actually quite substantial stuff, just not £40 worth. (If anyone wants to lend me the squid amiibo, that'd be lovely )

This is an insane deal. If I wasn't going to two festivals this month I might have jumped at this! PS4 with Witcher 3, The Last of Us, Project Cars and 3 months Playstation Plus for just £264 from Amazon. A few weeks wait on stock, but totally worth it!

Got my yellow shirt on, 50 greatest FA Cup moments on the telly. Lunch, then off up to London. Come on you Gunners! She wore! She wore! She wore a yellow ribbon! She wore a yellow ribbon in the merry month of May, And when! I asked! Oh why she wore that ribbon! She said its for the Arsenal and we're going to Wembley! Wembley! Wembley! We're the famous Arsenal and we're going to Wembley. Wembley! Wembley! We're the famous Arsenal and we're going to Wembley.

Boooooooooo. So excited for the Cup Final tomorrow. Off to the screening at the Emirates. @Ramar you going to Wembley?

Unfortunately I haven't got my retail download yet from Nintendo, so probably will have to wait until Monday to join you guys online! Frustrating! At least I'm quite busy this weekend! Guess it's karma for getting to play it for a few weeks without you! Got a lot of you as friends, but add me if you haven't got me already for games - NNID paulmuchmore

Strange that it took a long time for them to answer you, when I messaged them the other week they took only half an hour to respond! Perhaps it was because of the bank holiday weekend?
-
Slightly unreasonable, you aren't in the UK so of course it'll probably take a bit more time. If you want it for launch day, you probably need to get it from somewhere in Ireland to guarantee you'll get it. Rakuten isn't the parent company, but it's a storefront that other companies advertise their products on, like many big retailers have eBay stores.
-
Found a good price of £32 for the Splatoon triple pack on eBay, from Australia, have messaged them to see who they use for delivery/whether their customers tend get import charges when shipping to the UK. If they use Royal Mail they have handling charges of £8, plus the VAT, so I'd rather avoid. If they mark as a gift though, as some companies do, I'll be going straight for this!

I meant floating above your head, not on the walls @Aneres11, don't be put off by Gamepad only - look at how much fun everyone is having! Who knows, they may patch in Pro support later, but you'd be silly to miss out on this much FUN
-
Post a message to Miiverse and it should appear above your head in the plaza. Of course, you won't see it yourself, but others should

I mentioned yesterday that Amazon was charging the same as ShopTo for the Inkling Girl amiibo - well now they're charging £32 for the Inkling Boy! That's Amazon themselves, not a private seller! Ridiculous.
-
Bluefin Depot is in the single player too, as is Port Mackerel. I don't recognise Camp Triggerfish though, but my memory might just be bad!
-
E3 isn't just a direct though. It's more about new, unannounced stuff, and stuff further in the future. Zelda may not be at E3 in a literal sense, but I still think an update on it is possible in the presentation. It may not be there, but I wouldn't rule it out completely.
-
That'd be good if any of the amiibo were ever in stock! I've put a reservation for Inkling Girl to collect from Argos on Monday, will pick up the other two at a later date hopefully. No idea how I'll the the squid, may have to go to eBay for that or just give it a miss. Promised myself I won't get addicted to amiibo - only have two so far, but I actually want the Splatoon ones, they look pretty good and they've locked stuff I want to play behind them - which I really don't agree with. But I just can't justify spending so much to get some toys!!
-
Just was looking around at the prices of Splatoon amiibo - the girl one is £19.85 on Amazon! I know they price match when other retailers have a better price than them, but price matching ShopTo's awful price is not on!
