Just checked back on other people's impressions - very much agree with @Wii that Wiimote/Nunchuck would be great. You could still have the map on the gamepad in front of you, but aiming would be a lot better with a Wiimote. Didn't try the non-motion controls, didn't realise you could turn them off!

Mixed feelings. While it was fun, and I liked the mechanics, it didn't totally win me over. Think I need more time with it, and perhaps the single player to get fully used to the mechanics and weapons. Felt a little bit too random for me. Matches are too short, and would've been nice to have more than the two maps, but I appreciate that it's just a demo. Dare I say it, I've never used voice chat before... but I really think this could do with it and would make it a lot better... and the fact you can't join friends yet is a very sad situation. If I didn't have a £22 pre-order, I'd be tempted to cancel... I am tempted to anyway and wait til August when it's a bit more fleshed out.

Ooh, forgot about this. Will try to pop on for a bit at 12, meant to be helping the parents in the garden, but I'm not free tonight so would like to try it out! They can wait! Good impressions so far then??

Fantastic news

Pestneb, you have too much faith in an MP listening to people and not following the party whip! I do agree though that people should engage with their MPs more, and with grassroots politics in general. If there was a vote on electoral reform, which there won't be, no way would it be a free vote for the Tories.
-
Sadly, we won't get any voting reform in the next five years because the tories have a majority and will vote it down It's what this country needs most. So many people are disenfranchised. But we won't get it. It makes me so sad.

Haven't watched the Direct yet, but pleased I've got it pre-ordered for £22 from The Game Collection. A bargain even if it doesn't turn out to be the best thing ever.

Tax cuts are too appealing to the general public. Unfortunately, your wages won't rise, you won't be able to get a doctor's appointment, and if you do, you'll probably have to pay for it. Tax cuts - not necessarily a good thing. Even if Labour made things a little bit better, it would have been progress. Better than the pile of crap we've got now.

Here's to five more years of the rich getting richer, the poor getting poorer, people starving, having benefits cut, schools getting worse, the NHS becoming more and more privatised, Britain becoming even more cut off from the world, maybe even the end of our union, and despite what they say, the economy not getting any better! WHAT A WONDERFUL RESULT!

This is bloody awful. Worse than I ever expected. How people can vote Tory absolutely confuses me.
-
Not for a few hours yet. The narrative is very depressing so far. Hopefully things change I'm not a Lib Dem voter, but it's so sad to see them lose so many of their good MPs. Vince Cable I'm so scared to think about the future of our country. It's going for a very acrimonious split

Was re-tweeted by an ex-tory MP for saying I agreed with her. She tweeted that the exit poll is probably wrong. I'm hopeful!!!! Wish Michael Gove would fuck off from our screens. Got BBC on the TV and Channel 4 on the iPad for Richard Osman to give me the pointless answers.
-
Exit poll with tories on 316 seats. That really can't be right. It can't be. Goes against all logic and all other polling. Would be disastrous if it turns out like that.

Well that was fun! Awful in the first GP, I came last. Second GP got better, came 6th. Third GP, I won a race! Was leading after 2 races, second after 3. It all came down to Baby Park. I came last. Meaning I finished in 4th! FOURTH! So close to a podium. It really does depend on how you start. Get caught in the pack and if you get hit with one item, you get hit with loads. Case in point, I did well on Cheese Land, my least favourite track! I love Royal Raceway, so was pleased to win that one! Hope you enjoyed having me, unfortunately I can't do Thursdays usually, but that was good!

Just realised I'm not out tonight as I usually am - staying in for the election! So I could make an appearance for one week only! What time is it usually over by? Need to pop to Tesco before 10 for election snacks! I'll join group 2 @Clownferret, I believe I already have you on my friend list but will double check!

I voted, for Labour in the parliamentary vote and Lib Dem for the district council. The only other options for the local one were UKIP and the Tories so had to go for the least bad option! My vote in the main one is pretty much wasted because of living in a safe tory seat - according to http://www.voterpower.org.uk my vote is worth 0.13 of what it should if things were proportional! To make up for my main vote being useless, went to the nearby marginal seat to help the Labour campaigners for a couple of hours, leafletting and making sure people could get out and vote. Really excited and hopeful that we get David Cameron out of power tonight
-
Yep, we need serious electoral reform to a more proportional system. I actually went and protested to the Lib Dems about it the day after the last election, that didn't end up changing a lot! Hopefully another hung parliament and more power for the left wing parties will help bring an end to our very unfair system.

I forgot to visit this thread as much as I should have IT'S ELECTION DAY PEOPLE, REMEMBER TO GO AND VOTE! Even if you don't want to vote for any of the candidates, please go down and just spoil your ballot to show your disapproval. Staying at home achieves nothing. Yes, you may live in a safe seat which means your vote won't change anything, but please, please have your say. It's so important for our democracy. Can a mod (@Rummy) change the thread title telling people to go vote? Who's staying up all night for the results? I am!

It's crazy that there were so many cheers for keeping things the way they always had been. A sad situation when you're cheering for the status quo. I do think it's a bit ridiculous that these things get so many cheers in the room too - this is meant to be a press event. The press who are there to report on it - they aren't meant to be there as fans. Really, the cheers etc. amount to so little. Yeah, they increase the atmosphere there and then in the room, but overall, hold so little consequence. With the PS4 no DRM stuff, it would have had the same positive press coverage if it'd been in a Direct style video. I'm happy with either style of presentation - it really doesn't matter to me at all.

I actually miss Prov Donk and Comedy Rainbow. Bring them back please! Congrats on 30,000 - I hope we meet someday!

As predicted. Strange choice of characters. Would sell more with Luke and Han or tied in with Ep 7 more. Unless that isn't the main pack - all the previous starter packs came with 3 characters. Like all other NFC games, will pick when cheap. Still haven't bought the Marvel one yet. Will eventually, but going to pick up Lego Marvel Superheroes first to satisfy that Marvel itch.
-
I have the stars, and I love Majora's Mask, but that light looks really quite tacky and cheap... sorry!

Maybe streaming is the future of gaming, but it's a long way off being viable on a worldwide scale - yes it may be good enough in the UK, USA and Japan, but the market is bigger than that. When/if streaming becomes a viable option, surely all gaming would be through it, not just used for backwards compatibility. And when/if streaming is the solution, surely they still actually will need hardware on the other end to run retro games, so baking it into their systems now is a sensible option? For now, hardware based backwards compatibility provides the better service for the consumer, and probably easier and cheaper for Nintendo too, so for the foreseeable future, it probably won't change.

£33 is a sickening price. That's the price of a whole game! That much for add ons is ridiculous. It will either be poor value for money, or be a lot of content held back from the main release. Having a price that high will actually stop people from buying it too! Make it a third of the price and I bet more than 3 times the people would buy it.

Yeah, I thought I was quite comfortable until that point, I'd slowed down a bit from the start but still running constantly up to that point, I think once you've walked a bit it's harder to get going again! After that I think I was probably doing 8 mins run to 2 minutes walk. The final straight was just the best. I overtook so many people on that part! Would love to do it again and get a sub 4 hour time, the problem is actually getting a place in the ballot! Never got quite enough training in because I was in my final term of uni and had a lot of work to do - had to hobble down to uni to hand in my final project the following morning! Such an emotional experience that I'd recommend to anyone.
