Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water (30th Oct)
Mr-Paul replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It has a US trailer, saying coming this Fall. Called Fatal Frame there but Project Zero over here. -
Poor show, though I loved the muppets. Too much time on Yoshi, although I guess having a big audience a week before the game is a great way to advertise. Just not what such a long amount of time in an E3 conference should be used on. Star Fox looked great, Metroid and Zelda 3DS multiplayer should be fun - can you really be judging on a trailer less than a minute long? - and I can't wait for Fire Emblem Fates. People want megatons at E3, and this didn't have them. Doesn't make the games they will release bad. If there were some more big Wii U announcement there wouldn't be as much backlash at what there is. Me, @Josh64, @D_prOdigy, @Hellfire and @Cube have had a nice calm chat about it in the N-E staff Skype discussion, seems we didn't hate it quite as much as the majority!

We've only had a 57 second trailer. Wait for more before judging, I say.

Get in the chat room people!

That's a good point with the $29 digital copy, but I mean they know there are people willing to pay silly amounts, $200 and more, to ensure they get this game. Yeah, they get a few extra bits of memorabilia for that, but I have no doubt they could get this published with a traditional business model. Getting some money from the fans now does reduce the risk on the project, for sure, but it just leaves a little sour taste in my mouth. And the stretch goals on offer aren't exactly stellar - subtitles in different languages, something that would be standard with a global release anyway.
-
Oh my. I need this in my life so badly.
-
I never played the first two, so not into the hype that you guys are, but I'm slightly uncomfortable with them using Kickstarter for this... seems like a way to fleece the fans rather than actually make the project go ahead. I know they say it wouldn't go ahead without the Kickstarter, but surely Sony or someone would give them $2m?
-
Blooming hell, they're really hitting us fast with the updates. I've been away and can't keep up!
-
Looks beautiful. My first thought was @RedShell needs to create stuff on this! I wonder how easy it is to create stuff that's fun to play? I tend not to have enough patience on these things!
-
Just watching the Sony conference now, really like the look of this, though fear it might be a bit too Monster Hunter for me.
-
Congrats on the baby @dazzybee Haven't been on all weekend, was away for the Isle of Wight Festival, seems like I missed some good splatting. Will have to get back on with you guys some point this week, but can't do tonight, then tomorrow is E3! Wednesday maybe!
-
If you were flailing you were doing it wrong!
-
I absolutely LOVED Hyrule Warriors. But do we really need it again? I wonder how the performance will be in comparison i.e. enemy numbers?
-
Generally! You're the exception to the general consensus :p And you like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon so your opinion doesn't count! But the point was, I feel everyone is being quite fair. Even those who are enjoying it have some criticisms.
-
I think some of you are over-reacting a bit. People are just pleased they've got a lot of time so far out of a game which has been criticised for a lack of content. What's wrong with people saying how much they're enjoying a game in that game's thread, especially when people who don't have the game are criticising it for the lack of content and online options? All the discussions have felt pretty balanced in here, to be honest, and I can't think of one person who has the game and has posted in this thread that hasn't had any criticisms of Splatoon, but generally, they're also having a lot of fun! Let people be happy!
-
Am I still the only one that dislikes Splat Zones, then? :p I mean, it's not bad, but Turf Wars is a lot more fun. I think the penalty timer is the worst aspect of it, though.
-
That scene totally reminded me of Star Wars Episode 2! CGI as she flew away was a bit ropey but I guess she was on something that was CGI flying away from a place that was also CGI.
-
The paintbrush is awful! Pretty useless! Just had a game where I got 1219 points... and I was on the losing team One of my teammates only got 204p! Would've been my record score if the rest of my team were any good!
-
That is bloody fantastic.

In contrast to Nightwolf and Jimbob, I get great coverage from EE. They do tend to be a little pricey but I got a good deal that beat all the other networks. Haven't really had to deal with their customer service, so I've been more fortunate than some of you. Our broadband is with BT too and never had a problem with them either!
-
Thanks for the invite in the other thread, I'd love to play but I'm away with little/no internet for 10 days of June, so wouldn't be able to give it the time needed. Enjoy!
-
They're a different genre completely, too. You're comparing three different FPSes which play very differently to a third person shooter which is unlike anything we've had before. Just because it is original doesn't make every other shooter poor/obsolete. They all have their place in the market. It's a shame that Kav isn't giving Splatoon a chance, as I think it's great and we're all having a lot of fun on it. I think he'd love it. But it's clear that online gaming and being able to communicate with his friends is a lot more important to him than it is to you, Ronnie. For me, the missing features aren't a deal breaker, but for him, they are. (note: I started writing this before the last 5 or so posts!)

Never realised the Vauxhall Corsa was popular enough to get its own game.
-
I think it's alright, but as you said, long range weapons have a strong advantage. I use the aerospray and my team just just got completely trapped in by Sprout using the Jet Squelcher! It really needs more maps added to rotation, as you sometimes end up playing the same stage over and over and over.

Indeed - I wasn't saying that this is a 10/10 game. But I was shocked that the review was so completely different in tone to what they put out last week. Really wasn't expecting them to say it was essential. I think that is what it comes down to with Splatoon. It's missing a lot, it has flaws, but it's so damn fun.
