IGN's video review showed about 5 seconds of Wii footage in the middle while the narrator said "look how crap it looks compared to the others" (it looked pretty much the same to me apart from no HD). My copy hasn't arrived yet, may get it on Monday... Ganepark32, what's the frame rate like? Does it go choppy or is it still 60fps like the first? I saw 1 video of the first 15 mins on youtube which looked jerky, hoping it's the video not the game...

Gametrailers review: Best part for me is that it stops the clock when you've finished the main missions, so you can go around doing sidequests without dying every 5 minutes. My copy of the Wii version should be in the post, just hope it's decent compared to the HD ones.

You mean the Wii2 version?

SS looks like watercolour paints to me... DQ looks more like oil based paint in a way.

Wow, a 360 game in the Japanese top 10? What heresy is this?!

If it comes out during this year's June/July release drought, it could sell better.

The special effects, esp the microscopic photographic scenes, were absolutely jaw dropping on a big screen. DVD would almost definitely not do it justice, and i wonder if even BRD would; it seems any finite number of pixels could be detrimental to the experience. Yea i know what you mean, i managed to find it showing in the farthest corner of Birmingham, and my friend & i were the only ones in the cinema.

You do know that Luigi's Mansion was actually made in 3D when they were experimenting with it on the gamecube prototype? http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interview.html#/how-nintendo-3ds-made/0/2 (about half way down the page)

On the subject of Aronofsky, anyone manage to see The Fountain when it was in cinemas?

Also really enjoyed the single player, wished it went on a bit longer

Was thinking the exact same thing! The first Conduit was already considered quite similar to the N64 shooters like PD, now this. I'm looking forward to this game, hope they release a bundle with a Wiimote plus.

Considering the number of petitions i've signed that got completely ignored by the government anyway, at least if this game gets released it'll "feel" like the petition helped
-
Petition! I've signed it, so should you. Yes, you. http://www.petitiononline.com/TLSWR/petition.html

Nah, 2's too little, 4 does the job nicely - fold in half & half again. (Plus another 4 if you need)

I don't mind, even if it only comes out in US i'll import it - at least it's in a language i can understand.

BUMP! After emailing both NOE and NOA about both Xenoblade and Last Story, I received the following reply from NOA: So it looks like Xenoblade (Monado) is at least scheduled to get a US release

It was an impressive game for its time, with excellent cutscenes and rude spoofs that weren't really seen anywhere else. Unfortunately, the gameplay itself is repetitive (collection tasks, dying & going back to previous cutscenes) and frustrating (eg. getting hurt when you jump then land on ground 2cm lower). The framerate was also pretty awful. Some parts are still fun to play today (flying around as the bat, the Great MightyPoo boss battle, the wipeout style racing sections), and the Rock Solid club is actually a lot better on N64 than the Xbox remake, with the lightshow being properly synced to the music and Conker dancing during idle animations. So it may be slow and frustrating by today's standards, but it's probably still worth playing through in the same way you'd watch a classic old movie again 15 years later.

Think of your own mindfuck to trump her with this xmas! You have 2 days to plan it. No seriously, that's a horrible thing to announce, although my mom's told me about being pressured into having kids too. Apparently in her day (50s) by the time you reached 17/18 years old, everyone was constantly asking "When are you going to get married? When are you going to get married?", then as soon as she was married expecting them to be happy, they just changed to the second verse "When are you going to have a baby, when are you going to have a baby?". It wasn't until she had her first child and they went onto verse 3: "When are you going to have another one? When are you going to have another one?" that she realised they'd never be satiated and stopped caring about them. Didn't stop my parents having 7 kids tho

...is what i've been accused of, many times. I used to believe it too, until few years ago i realised if you look at it from the planet / carbon footprint perspective, and not "the world deserves to be blessed with more of *MY* own DNA", the selfishness could be argued the other way, so it's pretty subjective. But in my experience, this turned out to be a volatile topic that offended many people!

Wonder if it's time to change the title of the thread...

nightwolf, i'm completely a member of your club there. Around 8 or 9 years old, i remember telling my mother i didn't want kids. Cue the usual "you will when you're older" speech. Yet through my teens it just made more & more sense not to. In my 20s, with so many people saying it's selfish to not have children, i started to realise that in a way, it's actually selfish, toward the environment, to have kids. 35 now, and those feelings have not changed. And for those who want kids, i can't believe we've been moulded into such an arrogant mindset of "the world needs more of my own DNA", when there are so many children awaiting adoption, we could give homes to instead...but that's getting off topic.
