  1. You need _a_ save game, so play through to at least the first save point (takes about 5-10 mins). I did that to get the DLC quests, even tho i'm still busy finishing Lufia before I play this properly.
  2. Deliberate slowdown feels ace tho, like in a Shmup when a massive boss is exploding *looks at Ikaruga*
  3. Going back further, to the 2D consoles, it was almost never a problem. The Bitmap Bros games (Gods, Speedball, Chaos Engine) didn't run at 60fps but were still perfectly playable, and those are the only ones I can remember at this stage that didn't run at 60. Everything else was just pretty much deadsmooth at the time. Enter 3D hardware and everything started going jerk jerk. And we haven't progressed much, most PS3/X360 games struggle to keep up 30fps without screen tearing or dropping frames. Luckily most Wii games run at full frame rate but I wonder if we've seen the last console where majority of games run at 60? And agreed, Perfect Dark 64 became pretty unplayable in the later stages. Playing it on XBLA at a solid 60 was like a breath of fresh air.
  4. Me too! I loved the original, then got the 2nd & 3rd, but in both of those as much as i enjoyed the story & really wanted to see more of it, the gameplay just seemed to become too much "go to this arbitrary location and possibly do a mundane task" to pad out the story, with the only other option being to wander around & look for sidequests that don't feel like you're progressing. I got the 4th one last year, but have lent out my PS2 so haven't unwrapped it yet. Apparently it's more of a regular platformer again (with an awkward camera).
  5. Anyone else old enough to remember Zero in the late 80s / early 90s? Mostly Amiga, PC, ST games. Loved that mag. I think it eventually became assimilated into PCZone?
  6. Yea their Wii conversions were often considered better games than the HD ones (ok not a difficult feat in Thor's case). I love Mushroom Men, has a very "N64 platformer" feel to it.
  7. Well, in the same way that Lufia, Zelda and Last Story could be called RPGs then... yep no menu based combat (ie. me likey).
  8. Wahey, my copy from CoolShop arrived yesterday! Pretty close to finishing (imported copy of) Lufia then i'm starting on this. Tried a bit of someone else's copy on their DSi, it all seems really smooth & slick Hope it is too on a DS...
  9. http://uk.gamespot.com/wii/action/thor/news/6321834/red-fly-lays-off-30 Apparently after the Wii version of Thor (and before that, Ghostbusters, Star Wars TFU II, and Mushroom Men) they had a big project cancelled, which caused the trapdoor to open. Sad times.
  10. DiemetriX: In the land of the short women, the tall man is King.
  11. Sounds like a question to start a new thread... /leaves too
  12. Wow chair, have your arms & chest, like, doubled in size?
  13. The number of games i could say that about... DKCR for one I started with tilt controls & was all over the place, then went to nunchuk & it felt better, then tried tilt again and it felt even better. May try nunchuk again next... haven't decided yet which gets my preference!
  14. Got this & been playing it for about an hour now. Great fun. Which control scheme do you guys prefer - tilt or nunchuck? (or classic controller)?
  15. Highly recommended to download the video from their website - the mp4 is at 60fps (youtube chops it down to 30).
  16. So if you smile in a photo, it's be best to have your clothes off?
  17. Bump time: Now with "download only" option! Download individual tracks (£0.60 / €0.70 each), or the whole album (£4.20 / €5.20).
