  1. Haha! Work caved in, they're going to start paying me again! Sweet victory.
  2. It's sad, on pancake day I normally eat nothing but pancakes, pancakes for breakfast, pancakes for lunch, pancakes for dinner. But I work now, I didn't have time for my morning pancakes, and eating pancakes can be messy, so no pancakes for me at lunch in the office. Dinner time will be pancake time and I will enjoy it.
  3. It was a really really tiny company who my dad did a website for. They rent out big posh cars to people who are compensating for something
  4. Just got an email from a company I did a Christmas card for in 2007, they've referred my work to someone who is looking for an illustrator so hopefully I'll have some awesome paid work coming my way!! Sooo happy It's times like this that really get me motivated to do some drawing.
  5. Man, Hooch is crazy.
  6. Definitely want in on this. It's my first game so it'll be interesting...and complicated. I'll think of a character and send a PM your way Jonnas.
  7. http://marvel.com/news/comicstories.6766 Not a comic book, but comic related. I'd totally watch a Robot Chicken style program with Marvel characters.
  8. Well as long as you weren't flaming mine and LazyBoy's posts because they were a little more than 'OMG Season 9 woz wen it all went downhiiillll!!1!!', because I agree, that's not a discussion, that's just mindless, so let's leave it at that. Any way, South Park. In my opinion it's always been great because it's changed with the times and has grown up with the people watching it. I feel as though when it first came out it appealed to a lot of the younger audience because of the foulness of it, and as they got older, the controversy seemed less shocking, so while the show pushed the boundaries of what it could show on television, it began to deal with real issues and dealt with them in a clever and funny way, often making fun of both sides of an argument. Let's hope Trey and Matt can keep it feeling so fresh.
  9. Sorry guys, long post. LazyBoy speaks the truth. I know it's easy to jump on the Simpson's hate wagon, but I don't think it's even a good show anymore. The plot lines in the new episodes are ridiculous (and they are really really ridiculous) but that's not even the main problem. It's just not funny. There is no subtlety, no pacing, absolutely NO sense of comedic timing, and they keep introducing wacky new characters every week as an excuse to get celebrities on there. They're basically doing the exact same things they made fun of in the Poochy episode. The show has completely lost its heart, and is entirely reliant on non-sequiturs and, very poorly, making fun of itself. Yes, you could say that some of the earlier episodes had better plotlines and characterizations that both made sense and related to the plot, but ultimately it doesn't matter if the show isn't funny. And the characters have devolved throughout the show. Bart used to be a mischievous kid but had morals (eg in the Christmas episode where he stole the videogame, he wasn't mad because he got caught, he hurt Marge's feelings) The Bart of today would do that obnoxious laugh and run around the house. They've turned him into a completely one note mindless character who used to be an underachiever but is now just retarded. Lisa used to be a little mischevious as any 8 year old would be. She was smart but would get involved in some of Bart's smaller scale schemes. Now she acts like she's 30 all the time, always right and almost inevitably, everyone gradually comes around to her way of thinking. All Marge seems to do now is nag nag nag nag nag nag nag. Homer used to be an unintelligent guy who would do anything for his family. They've turned him into a selfish and violent person who cares for no one, he used to be flawed but lovable. I found a good synopsis of the first episode: Homer doesn't get his Christmas bonus so he tries to salvage the family Christmas; Homer saves money by buying little cheap gifts (and works as a Santa); Bart is a brat but he has a rationale behind it (wants to get a tattoo with 'Mother' on it to impress Marge, not just to be obnoxious); Bart and Homer bond at the race track after Bart discovers Homer working as a Santa; Santa's Little Helper joins the family as a result of how bad he is as a greyhound and is a completely accidental 'good present' from Homer. Here's how it would probably play out with the writers they have now: Homer gets a bonus but blows it on some random, idiotic thing (...Let's go with dog sledding insurance); Homer does some inane crap unrelated to the plot; Bart runs into an antique store and breaks things "because he's bad, it's what he does" (forcing Marge to use the Christmas money to pay for everything); Homer strangles bart; Lisa is sad that Christmas is ruined (contradicting her normal moral and secular stances...which happens quite frequently) and Homer gets Santa's Little Helper from the pound as a dog to cheer up Lisa. Anyway I guess The Simpsons is just not for me anymore.
  10. Dollhouse - Episode One Joss Whedon is back!! I really liked this pilot and I think the premise of the show has real potential (if Fox gives the show a chance). I think it needs more of the witty Whedon dialogue so we'll see if that comes, but the show seems to have had some really thought put behind it. I am definately looking forward to this. Scrubs Season 8 - Episodes 9 and 10 I adore this series, definitely back on form. I was missing the JD and Turk interaction so episode 10 was great. I also like how they seem to be focusing on how each character has changed through the series and also hinting back at previous episodes
  11. To be fair to the magazine they did start to go away from the kiddie image and put more focus on 'teh hardcore' titles. IIRC they even had a feature about the seemingly endless drivel of party games. However it's still not a well written magazine and I don't know why I still get it on subscription...hmm...
  12. Can't be that....we got a mouse mat last month...
  13. Have a good one!
  14. Haha, the hardest I've laughed at a trailer for a long time. I really, REALLY want to see this.
  15. In related news take a look at The Fallen and Devestator
  16. That's what I was wondering. I didn't think she was dead, she's just missing at the moment. I'm pretty sure she'll show again. EDIT: I've been recapping what's been happening. Claire went off with Christian Shepard
  17. Eenuh, I can completely relate to how your feeling, I've been in the same situation where I felt as though nothing is moving forward and I lost a lot of motivation to draw because I didn't see much point if I'm not getting anything out of it. All I can say is keep at it, I know it's easier said than done, but I've seen your work, it's amazing and needs to be seen by everyone. One thing I did was to put my work up everywhere, on websites, on forums, when you start to get praised for your work it gives you a real boost in confidence. I'm currently getting my work out to publishers now, so maybe that one thing you could try, I know your still doing your art course, but it's never too late to get yourself out there. Hang in there! Hope this helps.
  18. From my experience Forbidden Planet have been great, pretty fast delivery, about 3-4 days, and as you said, they're prices are really good.
  19. Awesome, thank you very much, I can't be online tonight, but tomorrow evening I can if that's ok with you?
  20. Excellent, I've checked game faqs *shudder* and it's normally 1,420 bells. How does 5000 bells sound...I really REALLY need one :P
  21. Then again this is Lost, he could turn up again, especially now with the time jumps.
  22. Congratulations Danny, that's wicked news. I wish I would wins things...
  23. I thought the letter from Captain Olimar was a neat touch as well. Btw, does anyone have an Exotic Wall they would be willing to sell me? Thank's in advance.
