  1. Touché, my friend. Touchérino indeed.
  2. I'm not into frogs, though...
  3. Well, that list is only for first games. You know...because it says "First [...] game"? So maybe, JUST MAYBE, that game you mentioned might be in my collection eventually. I DON'T NEED YOU. I'M SUCCESSFUL EVEN WITHOUT YOUR STUPID SUB. Still...send nudes.
  4. Previously on "Will drahkon buy a Switch to only play Slay the Spire?": The yellow legal pad on drahkon's desk showed two coloumns with the headlines Pro and Cons, respectively. After a couple of minutes of intense thinking and the help of the weird people of N-Europe these coloumns filled with arguments for both sides. "The decision has been made..." __________________________ Season 1, Episode 2 - Drahkon's Choice I will buy a Switch. The regular, new version. First retail game: Astral Chain. First digital game: Slay the Spire. The End. Thanks for watching. Like, comment, subscribe, send nudes.
  5. It's interesting how I would dislike this conversation in an action movie, but throughly enjoy it in video games like Uncharted. I don't know what it is. I don't like those cookie-cutter action movies but when they're packed into a video game I sit there with a smile on my face all the way through They do make for some great holiday entertainment
  6. My vote goes to the Uncharted series. At lower difficulties the games are very enjoyable to non-regular gamers and they're great action-entertainment.
  7. So far, I've had the most success with high-block decks for The Silent. Since she doesn't heal after each battle like The Ironclad, lots of block is great. Eventually you need to figure out ways to deal a bit of burst damage or use chain-tactics (she has quite a lot of cards that give energy). The thing with Ascension runs is: Each Ascension makes the game more difficult, but not particuarly much more. However, Ascension punishes mistakes much more mercilessly. Planning is the single most important aspect of those runs. And I still struggle with it. Knowing what type of enemy you may encounter and what damage you can expect to take is crucial in making decisions. I've reached Ascension 7 with The Ironclad and normal enemies are now deadlier, chaning things up quite a bit. Aside from character specific decisions/playstyles, each act comes with its own problems regarding decision making. Act 1 is mostly about building a deck to defeat the boss and get through the first few fights of Act 2. Act 2 is a different beast...hallway fights in this act are (in my opinion) the most difficult battles in the entire game. If you're not able to keep your HP close to full, you'll struggle. This act shows that pathing is crucial. Taking a path with less hallway fights usually keeps your HP high, but it comes at the cost of having less choices for cards. However, this is almost always the best choice. Act 3 is generally about complementing your deck with new cards. You should already have a deck capable of surviving hallway fights and the occasional elite and everything else you pick up is just there to make your life easier and take down whatever boss you'll face. Obviously, RNG can and will occasionally screw up certain aspects mentioned above. Very rarely there is literally nothing you can do but for the most part: If you die, you made a mistake and if you really think about the run you can always identify it. As a side note: The true boss is just an optional thing to go for if you have a specific type of deck to counter it. I don't particularly like its design (mechanically). I've read that Ascension 1 runs are the go-to runs if you wanna beat the boss, since you have more chances to get relics from elites. Anyway, this got waaaayyy out of hand Now I'm at work wanting to play Slay the Spire.
  8. SLAY THE SPIRE Yup. Managed to win an Ascension 5 run with The Ironclad. Fuck that character. Was quite lucky to get two strong cards very early, but then I was able to build my deck around them so I'd say it was mostly my incredible intelligence that won the run. I'm a genius and nothing can stop me. SLAY THE SPIRE
  9. @Hero-of-Time Do you prefer the original or the Master Quest?
  10. Alright, H-o-T. We really need to have a talk. Link's Awakening (the original, not the remake) is the pinnacle of the Zelda series. Any other opinion is invalid, stupid and - quite frankly - ridiculous. You should be ashamed and I hate you. Slay the Spire!
  11. Like Slay the Spire this year? I'm gonna just mention this game every chance I get. Until I get banned. This is a game that I always want to play again, but once I start I lose interest very quickly. SLAY THE SPIRE
  12. Yes, Christmas time has always been video game time. As usual, I will play through Super Mario World over the Christmas days. 96 exits-run and my sub-20-minutes run People, do you have a single game that's your go-to during these days?
  13. That, too. But I'd also get a larger screen and two separate joy-cons for only 50€ more if I sell the dock. But a Lite is quite tempting at the current 200€. If I can grab a Christmas deal (maybe 20 bucks cheaper) I might actually go for one. But it's the joy-con issue that I'm worried about the most.
  14. Did it now. Retail Astral Chain Xenoblades Chronicles 2 Fire Emblem: Three Houses Digital Golf Story Cuphead Ori and the Blind Forest Then there's the prospect of double dipping (Slay the Spire, Dead Cells, and others). Consindering the (supposed) quality of these games I'd say a Switch would be worth it now. However, I'm also thinking about the Switch's future and it doesn't particularly fill me with hope that I'll get enough out of the console in the long run. And there's also the fact that a Switch plus one retail game would cost me 350€ (and maybe half of it would come from Christmas gifts). Would probably sell the dock, though, so maybe minus 40-50€. Not an easy decision. Since I have a certain amount of disposable income this year I'm 60-70% in favour of buying a Switch Tune in next time to another episode of "Will drahkon buy a Switch to only play Slay the Spire?". It's a nailbiter, I can tell you. Because I'm writing the show and I'm an amazing writer. Seriously.
  15. *checks her hair in Spectre* Yeah, will watch
  16. It's always interesting to me to read/hear those "Who's your favourite Bond?"-conversations. I didn't grow up with the Bond movies so I can never join these convos but it's funny how supposed friends get into a heated argument and end up screaming at each other I do enjoy the Craig movies, though. At least the two that I've seen. Wasn't she a Bond Girl before? She sure is a lot prettier with long hair.
  17. I have This is a game I have on my Vita, so several indies I've already covered on the best handheld ever created I've always been interested in Golf Story so that's one in the "pro coloumn". Tetris 99 is not on my list because I am way too good at Tetris. I'd ruin the entire community's experience. Nah, I don't like Tetris, tbh. Yeah, those are pretty much the games that I'm interested in without looking up anything. Hmm, that's true, but I still wonder whether the Switch could be a nice complementary device to my PS4. Which is why I'm asking
  18. Alright, I'm thinking about getting a Switch for Christmas. I don't have anything useful to buy/save for and will most likely get some money for Christmas so have disposable funds Still contemplating whether it'll be worth it. I know that I'd definitely be interested in Slay the Spire. Having this on the go would be amazing. Other than that, what is there? E.g., I've played Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey and didn't enjoy them. What about other offerings from either Nintendo as a first party studio or second party studios (to add, Mario Kart and Smash Bros are a given; these are games that I would eventually buy)? Would there be games that I enjoy? What about exclusive indies? Or indies that came to the Switch via the Microsoft deal or whatever the fuck that was? @Hero-of-Time probably knows the most about my gaming taste, so gimme a run down And to the pitiful rest: Feel free to chime in Except @Glen-i because I don't like his frog-Pokémon avatar (YES, I CALLED IT FROG AGAIN).
  19. By the way, @Hero-of-Time, I know what you've been up to...
  20. "Hey, the thing I'm making...man, I'm so proud of it. Wanna know what it is? TOUGH LUCK, BITCH! Not telling you!. JUST TELL US.
  21. Nope. I knew it was a thing, though, because there's a trophy for finding it. I did, however, look up some pictures of his place. You're image in the spoiler tag immediately sprung to mind This is exactly what I didn't get from BotW. All those little things in that game felt out of place because there was no "grand scheme of things". BotW was "full of" (a term that is weird, because the game was very empty) inconsequential moments. In Death Stranding, even losing one piece of cargo has some kind of impact. Not for you, but for others. They can pick it up and deliver it to get some thumbs up. It is very minor but not inconsequential.
  22. The Ironclad in Slay the Spire SUCKS. And NO, it's not me Nah, I can't seem to win with him no more. Ascension 5 doesn't change much and that change isn't even what keeps killing me. It's my ineptitude to build a strong deck for certain situations. But I'll get it eventually. I think I'm close to fulfilling his potential. In other news, I've finally figured out why I struggled so much with the early game of Civilization VI. It's those stupid barbarians. I've only yesterday realized that once one of their spies locates your town(s), they go back to their base, start pumping out combat units and bumrush your empire. And it's devastating. I haven't been able to keep up with putting out combat units of my own and always lost resources via the barbarians' pillage. But now I know, that you can just follow the spies and fuck up their base; usually one or two combat units of your own suffice. Game changer, right there. Lost two hours of sleep because "one-more-turn-syndrome" was in full effect last night...
  23. I'm always naughty.
  24. Never seem to get these gifts
