While mistakes can happen, this is quite a blunder. The person(s) responsible will clearly be in a bit of trouble Still, great that they cleared it up quickly.

In Germany, you don't have to pay upfront. I pre-ordered one and says that payment will process once the console is dispatched. You reminded me: My birthday is at the end of Novemeber I might try to convince my family to give me money before that Edit: He, I skipped @Sheikah's response to your post. Sorry
-
Ok, so I managed to get a pre-order in at Amazon.de. If I understand correctly, I'll have to pay once the item is dispatched. This is something the other pre-order options here in Germany don't offer. Usually you have to pay the full price immediately. If the pre-order goes through, and I really only have to pay when the console is dispatched, I might actually keep the order and figure out a way to sell some stuff to finance the PS5. Edit: Gamestop.de already sold out. That was quick.

It was disappointing to not see the UI. But, I think it's actually not bad. The internet's going crazy with the PS5 pre-orders/games/other news (and Sony/PlayStation as a brand) right now. The PS5 dominates gaming news. This will continue for one or two (maybe more, depending on if/when pre-order stock runs out) days and then there will be a little bit of silence. And then...BAM, PS5/UI deep dive to get people hyped again
-
@Julius Please just leave it alone. We can already see where this is headed.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself. This is exactly it. The messaging is clear. Ok...mate.
-
Welp, pre-orders are live in Germany. Looks like I won't be able to get one at launch. I could afford to pay for one now, but I'd pretty much have no savings left so Oh well, there's always next year
-
Nah, we all know that Sony doesn't care about gamers. It's been mentioned here many, many times
-
Who knows, but what does it matter? I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing. Now people got the option to either get a PS5 sooner, or wait a bit longer and still get to experience the first few games on their PS4. I doubt, for example, that the new God of War will be available on PS4.
-
These games will also make sure that PS4 sales will see another rise in 2021. Can't imagine it'll surpass PS2 sales eventually, but I would say it'll get close to those numbers.
-
They're doing amazing things. Why? This is an option for the current PS4 player-base. It's actually a cool thing to do. I doubt this will hinder PS5 sales much.
-
Official Source DualSense is cheaper than expected Edit: Launch line-up now officially confirmed by the PlayStation.Blog US: That is an insane line-up. Edit²: The blog post has a lot of information.
-
Awesome. The more people get to experience where it all started, the better

WHAT IS THIS MADNESS? Why is Geoff doing all this
-
Exactly! To be honest, the PS+ collection thingy and this being available on PS4 makes me think about trying to get a PS5 at launch. I might be able to get it done financially but it would take a bit of an effort I'm not sure I wanna take.

AWESOME!

It may not be turn based... (@Kav this is all your fault) ...but it does look freaking cool
-
KNOCKOFF! I think it's a wonderful offer. If are a newcomer to the Sony brand, boom: Get a subscription (probably a free trial with the console) and have access to a lot of amazing games. Here's hoping that they'll keep expanding the offer.
-
Good. If it's up to the standard of the previous installment then it's great that even more people get the chance to experience Miles Morales Edit: Why not reveal that information in the showcase? Anyway, good to know.
-
By the way, @Ashley, no Bugsnax news...how are you holding up?
-
Don't...it's been annoying then and it'll be annoying now.
-
The insiders saying that Sony had a stacked first year for PS5...were right. Now with the price being reasonable...I guess it's time to see whether the games are enough to sell lots of consoles

Much earlier than I expected, to be honest. Here's hoping that the Covid situation will be under relative control early next year and all devs can work normally again.

Very good showing in the end. Some old ("old" as in new games but we've seen 'em before) and a few awesome new announcements!
