Got 5 orbs now. No clue where to go next, though. Some weird voice told me to find a shipwreck but I have no idea where it is. I love this game Edit: ...wow, I'm blind Found it!

Because I'm pretty overpowered thanks to approximately 15 hours of grinding (YEAH!) I decided to actually make some progress. LET THE ORB HUNT COMMENCE. Found one pretty much just lying around near a pirate base. GG EZ. Also found the Ultimate Key which I assume lets me open up all doors. I'll keep repeating myself: Dragon Quest games are pure soulfood.

But didn't you say you got gold with a slower time in B-6?

Outside the Shrine of Teleportation (or whatever it's called). Don't have a map at hand so I can't tell you more details

And there it is. We've all been waiting for it.

So...guess it's time to rename "Nintendo Gaming" to "Other Consoles" Man, Final Fantasy X is so freaking good. Probably the best turn-based battle system ever made!
-
I don't start this up a lot these days, but when I do I always think: "Yes, it's time to finally make some progress". And I did...got the Black Pepper and in return was gifted a ship. Now I found an island that spawns Metal Slimes and occasionally Liquid Metal Slimes so... Yeah... 15 hours in and I have no idea when I'll continue with the story

Don't wanna do a ranking, because I'm a lazy sob, but: The PS1 is probably the one that changed gaming for me. It was the first console (+ game) I bought with my own hard-earned money I saved from my allowance back in 1998. I saved for quite a long time and once I had the cash ready, my parents took me to a local store only to find out that it had a "buy a PS1 and get Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped for free" available. Lucky me I've also told this story a few times: with the PS1 I've bought/played my first Final Fantasy (IX) game and have been in love with the series ever since
-
That's probably it. So you got the easy way out?
-
Yup, I'm in full on "licences are great fun, FUCK THIS SHIT, oh so close to gold, FUCK THIS SHIT AGAIN, YES, GOLD!!!!"-mode I remember playing GT5 with a friend and we pushed each other to new heights with records in those licence tests Now I don't have friends who play the game @Julius your ghosts don't seem to show up...

Will do, thank you Finally got some more time to play last night and will have more time today. Still grinding my way through some monsters, but I think I should move on and acquire some Black Pepper. For now, I'm going to the sauna (in real life)

25€ on Amazon.de

Only thing I hope is for hard mode to be accessible right from the start... Anyways, my mate has just started playing my copy so it's gonna be a long time until I get a chance to finish my first playthrough of this game

Any DQ3 masters here? I've reached the facility that lets me change classes but I wonder when I should do it. Also got a book that lets me switch to Sage but it says I can only do it once? Because apparently the book dissolves once read? Is Sage the best class or what gives? CHOICE PARALYSIS, PEOPLE, HELP!

You know more about myself than I do

I just looked at my trophy list for the S version and it seems I didn't finish Act 3 My brain's messed up. Anyways, I just fought my first two Metal Slimes in DQ3...and I killed them both. It's always magical when that happens Sadly, I farmed so much beforehand that I didn't level up at all
-
I finished Act 3 eventually but needed to level up a lot and do some other stuff for the Platinum, which I just didn't care for then. Maybe early next year I'll play it again and see what happens I think loading up the save and getting back into it wouldn't feel right.

Played this for 6 hours and my PS5 says I'm 33% done with the game. Seems odd, because I've read that the main story is about 30 hours long? I also spent at least 2 hours farming exp Usually the percentage isn't too far off, at least in my experience, so I'm a little suspicious. Anyways, just got told at work that there's not a lot to do and I should be "on call" for today, which is weird for someone who works part time in quality assurance. Well, I don't mind. I won't have time to game later today so why not during work hours. MORE EXP, HERE I COME! I've said it before, but there's something about the Dragon Quest series that just soothes me. I love everything about it (aside from the fact that some games are stuck on inferior hardware). I really need to get to playing every single title, but getting hold of them (and the hardware) seems like a nightmare. I've only really played DQVIII and XI (EDIT: How could I forget Dragon Quest Monsters on Game Boy? It was the first DQ game I've ever played and oh boy, I've played it a lot ). Maybe I should replay XI and then go after the Platinum

Been playing this for a bit and...I love it. It's soothing, it's making my good mood even better and I just enjoy grinding away the hours It'll probably take me until next year to finish it, though. Unless my pace improves My gaming time is split between this and CoD: BO6 (15% to 85%). And I don't game that much these days.
-
Looks like the end of 2024 will be similar to its start: Barely any games finished. I stopped playing this because it's a little too bleak for my current mood (which is surprisingly good). It's a great game and I'm looking forward to finish it eventually, but it's on hold indefinitely. I'm about 70% done with the story, so unless the end shits the bed, the game is definitely worth it at that price!
-
I see. It's a weird one. I come back to the game regularly on my Steam Deck but eventually just stop for a few weeks. I've just bought it. It's only 4 bucks. No real harm done

Hello. Question: Is Ode to Castlevania worth it to someone who always gets over Vampire Survivors after playing it again for 5 hours?
