Other Consoles@E3. Thread of Hype & Disappointment.
drahkon replied to Choze's topic in Other Consoles
Don't worry, I stopped getting hyped for games since Smash Bros. Brawl. :p But I still am curious. Demos would annoy people? Certainly not me. -
Yep, exactly my thought. What are leaderboards, a community and stuff like this for when winning a race is largely influenced by luck (assuming that it is)? It would only make sense if winning was about skill. Have to agree with flameboy, Split Second sounds way more interesting.

God Of War 3. But it's highly unlikely the big news is about that. Where do you get the information from, anyways? -
Wow, definitely need to try this one out (especially since I'm a sucker for Jack Daniels).
-
Strange. Worked fine for me. Me likey. Needed to get used to the control scheme but after about 2 minutes I found it quite intuitive. The boss kicked my ass, though...
-
Well actually, I meant that in the first game something (I don't know what exactly) happens to him, since they talk about the issue of Shepard being dead or not.
-
Good lord, I was just getting into Mass Effect (played for about 8 hours)...now I've watched the trailer (too bad that I know for sure that something happens to Shepard). I'm impressed already. Mass Effect 2 is the only game I'm looking forward to right now. Might be the first release-day purchase in years.

"Improvisation" gameplay? Sounds great. Never gotten into the series. Played Pandora Tomorrow and I actually didn't like it. But Conviction appears to be something I'd enjoy. Love the idea. Co-op (online!) in this seems like a must (at least for me).

Indeed, it is. Over 100 blades? Nice. Hope there are hard challenges in order to get some stronger swords.

The largest poem I've ever written. I'm not satisfied with it at all. Anyway, here it is... Natural Science Greyish rocks leave coldest eyes looking for the greatest prize while walking roads of simple stones paved with rocks and death-hushed bones. She rests on metallic silky leaves, dreams of rocky cottony jeans. The mirror seems just like a gate behind her back it starts to change. Water drops inside her mind wanting her to touch and find the calming beauty outside the town which rests upon a tired down. Now let's imagine what she sees. Fire, bricks and bumble-bees. Join her truly fantastic journey, I passed by an infected gurney. Open and close, right and left alternating feet are the way's theft. East and south and north and west, find the direction suited best. Places, routes and courses settled, time tick-tocks in speedy battles. Choose the hand's positions wisely. When it's done, it warms the icy. She did it well and what she did: opend the door and closed her lid. Right and left walked with control, she pointed fingers, compassed the whole. Time was checked, the sun's erased. Moonlight shadows reveal the pace. Hands tick, hands tock, even her own. She starts to walk to the unknown. Mankind, cars and an intrusion. Neon lights, but not the fusion of hydrogen into high-pitching helium, voices keep on itching. She felt at ease with nightly visions, dark and cold, complete incisions. Down the street into the clear, none of them seems to come near. "Did you know I cannot talk?" Looked at him, eyes like a hawk's. "Well, did you know, what do you say?" He answered - plain and simple - "Ney. The question's awkward, don't you think?" "What do you mean, get me a drink." She sipped the Jack quite rapidly. After some more she's on her knees. Outside the pub she can get up. "I cannot talk!", loud noises dub the scream she screams while violins are crying and absolving sins. "Can we help you?" asks the carbon. Response came fast: "I beg your pardon?" "We carbon twins and hydrogens as well as hydroxyl origins?" They did their work, then she was done. In and out, they start to run. Cleared her brain of darkest waves, pain and sorrow gone for days. A little light was able to wake what appeared to be a lively ape. Climbing through the treetops' heights, it carried two large golden crates. Inside these "almost treasure chests" was nothing else than what was left of a girl's soul and of her love for nature's beauty touched by gloves. She woke under organic matters heard some birds' suspocious chatter. Waterfalls reflect the spectrum. Reached the place called "Nature's Kingdom".

You may not know me that much and I don't know you that much, but still: Happy Birthday to both of you

Other Consoles@E3. Thread of Hype & Disappointment.

Hm, good point. But I'll keep on believing: No MGS4 for 360. At least I won't be disappointed if I'm right. :p Looking forward to seeing footage of Alan Wake. Not confirmed officially but we will see stuff. Hopefully a lot of in-game stuff. Will there be anything about Mass Effect 2? -
I seriously laugh about it everytime I watch it.

Related to this? Still sceptic about it. Don't know why though...maybe because of "GTA.BAAFLC". Sounds stupid. And I will always believe that MGS 4 won't be released on the 360. -
I'm betting I won't. At least not if I don't import (but Prototype is probably the first game I'll import). There's no way this game is coming to Germany. Maybe censored, but still... Gameplay looks good. Probably will spend hours on just killing things without doing any missions

No. Don't think so. Why do you think it's very likely? Microsoft: Alan Wake Geometry Wars sequel announced (probably not at e3, though) Sony does not interest me that much since I do not own a PS3. YES! -
Getting more and more interested in the game while reading several reviews about it. How's the length of the game? I've read the main quest takes only about 10 hours but there are a lot of sidequests that increase the play time. A friend of mine said, though, that he did a lot of side quests and had still played only for 20 hours or so.

I'm not far into the story, yet, so I can't say much about it. Battles are turn based. In battle you only control the main character. The others act mostly freely, but you can give them several commands like "assign target" or "support. If you found weaknesses of enemies your allies will try to exploit them. Aside from attacking with your weapon you also have skills. Your skills are set by the Persona you have "equipped". These skills include the whole bunch of skills in RPGs (magic, physical attacks, supportskills). Personas set your stats and weaknesses, as well. Of course, items are usable, too. I think in Persona 4 you are able to controll every character in battle completely.

FES adds another chapter ("The Answer"), which is said to have 30 hours of gameplay, a new difficulty (hard), some new personas (don't know how much), costumesm, social links and quests in the original chapter. And there's a new "weapon fusion system" (or whatever it is called). Hm, still need to finish Persona 3 FES, which should take some time ._. But I'm tempted to buy Persona 4 just because it's relatively cheap at Amazon (30€).

Hawker Mech looks awesome =) Well, finally bought myself a copy of Burnout and I'm loving it. Looking through the Soundtrack I found those classical music tracks...some epic stuff there.
-
Question: Should I get Burnout Paradise or Halo 3 next month? I've played Halo 3 with with a mate before and I liked it. But I also liked the demo of Burnout.
-
I definitely will =) I forgot to post one purchase: Couldn't find a better picture. I bought a ticket to that festival and I cannot wait seeing Billy Talent, Enter Shikari, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, Korn. And there are still bands to be announced.

I have to admit: good opening. And those gameplay videos look solid as well. Still not sure whether to buy Street Fighter IV or Halo 3 next month. Never played any of the Street Fighter games that much. How is the tactical aspect of those games?
