  1. Yup that's right.
  2. MESH is a very good site, got my computer from there as did my sister. Their best netbook there is this one. 80GB HDD, 1GB RAM, Windows XP, Webcam, 9" screen, 2 years warranty. Only £269. Or for a laptop, they have a good one for £399: 2GB RAM, Vista, 160GB HDD, webcam built in, DVD rewriter, memory card reader, 15.4" screen (so not too huge).
  3. Oh well, just a couple of days anyway.
  4. Hmm going to sound ignorant, but how are you all using this? Isn't it supposed to come out on the 17th?
  5. We're matching the notes ourselves and typing out the letters.
  6. Nope, it's an earlier FF game than that.
  7. Most of the challenges really are the same. Every single challenge is against the clock for a start, which is utterly terrible and makes you always feel rushed. Then nearly every challenge is either a race or a 'reach so many different targets and do something to them'. And seriously at the pushing the ice cube? I managed to make it look easy on one of my turns, but so often the thing would slip away, and the whole thing felt terrible. I can't see why vehicles were chosen for this game - it means you can always fly in a level, rendering exploration kinda pointless. In the first BK you could fly anyway after reaching certain points/rooms (and only on certain levels, to make it less easy), as well as swim, as well as get running shoes that made you fast for races. Furthermore, having to (this one confuses me deeply) pick up your jiggies after winning them, only to drive them to a bank in the middle is ridiculous. Why do we have to to transport our own jiggies to actually get them, after picking them up? This was annoying when one of the jiggy vendors was divided by a stretch of water from the jiggy bank, so I had to carry them since the vehicle would sink. This wasn't far into the game and I had done most of the jiggies possible up to that point, and still didn't have a water crosser for the main town. Every jiggy is a cakewalk, and can be worked out instantly. I still do not know what Rare were thinking when making this game. Galaxy is the same game at heart really, while this isn't. The only difference between Galaxy and older games is that you can walk all over a planet without falling off. Apart from that it's quite similar to the Sunshine backpackless levels.
  8. Yeah, but which one? Kumbaya
  9. Clever lad, he must have been thinking outside the box.
  10. It's not even that, because on many challenges you're forced to use a particular vehicle. Pushing the ice cube on Banjo Land is a perfect example of a challenge that was not at all thought through. It's just shockingly bad. I've already slapped lots of engines on, better grip wheels, etc, and it seems that faster vehicles have next to no control. Even with a less fast and weightier vehicle, merely brushing against an object can cause a dead stop or even a 360 degree rotation! They really bent BK over with this game. Poor things.
  11. Yup, until someone goes through dissertations at uni it's hard to realise how frustrating it is, the thought of someone cheating. Probably 100+ hours went into just writing my dissertation.
  12. His opening post wasn't seeking advice (hence why I didn't give the advice of seeking tutor help), rather he was asking for evaluations of essay selling websites. Bad times.
  13. Actually, I told him what would very possibly happen to him if he did that, and fear of consequences is usually the best thing to deter people. Solve the issue? Knuckling down to do the work (or seeking our help from his tutor) is solving the issue. Coming onto a forum saying that it's too hard and so you might use a website to buy an essay is just stupid. Don't stick up for stupidity. I am guessing even he realises that it was a stupid idea now.
  14. Decided to play it...sigh. This really is one of the most bullshit games I have ever played. The vehicles are so poor to control as opposed to a player, and the environments are just wasted space with note collecting almost pointless. If I was to rate this game I'd give it a 3/10. It really is that bad.

    Kupo...

Us fellow FFVIII lovers are scarce...happy birthday, have a good 'un.
  16. Well I have a 32" and since it's not really large enough to really warrant a 1080p resolution I'd say I'm probably viewing a similar thing (Casino Royale on BD) but maybe not the additional contrast ratio / colour depth a better TV provides (cracking TV though, still). It's much less obvious a jump than with games, but that's probably because you're interactive with games and are panning the camera yourself, so it seems more noticeable.
  17. y-u-i-r y-u-i-p o-p-4-4-p-o-i i-i-u-y-u u-u-y-t-y y-y-t-r-t-r Play it slowly, marks go to anyone who guesses it. :p
  18. On another note, Game sent my actual N&B game to get here on release day, same with Fable II. No 1 day early games for me with those unfortunately. Unless there's a preorder bonus exclusive to them I might order elsewhere next time, they're getting a bit too by-the-book.
  19. They have? They seem to be having more bad press than ever what with their game DRM issues.
  20. I don't see FFVII as steampunk either. What was steampunk about FFVII? Steampunk usually refers to a Victorian style setting, lots of brass and woody objects, where steam is still used to power things. FFVII looks more like our world but gone wrong, yet still modern enough and using electricity.
  21. That's like, the last thing anyone should admit to if it's their thing.
  22. Hmm, I have the game still sealed and kept the preorder because I really wanted BK. I'm not sure whether to just take it to a local game store and get the refund (the website says you can for online stuff). The one thing that is annoying me is that I wanted to the Stop n' Swap stuff.
  23. Hmm, a few reasonably easy to miss places - break and enter all the windows in the mansion, check the hedge maze, quite a few inside and on top of the church and also at the bottom of one of the drainpipes (where you drop down as a pumpkin for a jiggy). Also try the bottom of the well (jumping down as the pumpkin makes it a lot easier).
  24. The only way they could have been more helpful is if they said the exact things I said but harsher. Given you found two places doing it and were weighing up the prices it did seem like you were intending to do it.
