Ain-Soph-Aur!! Well this game has been great, despite the basically copied and pasted towns (and even dungeons!) and what feels like far less to do in them. The story has been a real strong point for this game, but I do wish they used all original VAs for this game as some of the returning characters do sound ridiculous (Why couldn't they have left an undisclosed sum of money on the table of the original Lloyd VA to make it happen). One last gripe is that now, after owning a HDTV, it makes the game look rather poor, and I really do wish the Wii was a HD console (even with a component cable, it's not good). Plus the same gamecube graphics (despite cel-shaded graphics, which I thought were brilliant in the other game) remain. Well, those pitfalls aside, I think that the same Tales of Symphonia magic is there, and the character conversations are great. Some of the skits are fantastic and timed really well. There's a big plus - voiced skits, and you don't have to wait ages for each person's line to fade out (that was infuriating and I ended up skipping a lot of skits). The battle system is much harder than the previous game, for numerous reasons. For a start, it's very easy to get killed when undertaking missions that are just a few levels ahead of you. Secondly, you can't get ahold of uber equipment easily (synthesis takes time and involves getting hold of items that may only best be found in missions). Thirdly, monster evolving takes ages and monsters (as far as I can tell) aren't directly controllable, and replacing characters with monsters means that they are unable to use items and if they are left in the party with humans dead, game over. To top things off, I'm at the very end of the game in a fight with Alice and co, and I must say that it's quite hard at my current level. I quite like the game being more difficult, as I found the last game a little easy on the regular modes, while I expect it to be at least a little trying. With the removal of herbs that boost your HP by 5% (10% when converted using rune bottles) and replacement with HP+10 items (useless), it makes the game harder but more challenging at the same time. Initially I hated Emil with a passion, but eventually his character grew very well-developed with an interesting take on his personality. This is a good game overall; short of the original, but still really good. I think it may have been better to include more new areas and completely remake the towns (and improve the graphics) but as it stands; a good RPG.

Woah, PS3 fanboy much? Looks like you just jumped into defense mode. A lot of people buy their console for games and couldn't care less about playing films. Even then, there's more films available in HD on Xbox marketplace if people wanted that kind of thing. The RROD issue - MS will fix it for quite a while after it's bought, so let's stick to the games worthwhile on each system, ok?

Continuing on the lines of installation-type people, I've been having freesat installation woes. The guy who was meant to be installing the satellite never turned up yesterday, and I was ringing them over the day. First off they told me that he would actually be coming 2-6pm, after I had been waiting since 8AM downstairs (apparently they should have rung me earlier to tell me this so I didn't waste hours having to be in the house and somewhere I could hear the guy coming). Then he never turned up, and later on after much phoning it turns out this guy had rung "7 times" (despite the fact that I was right by the house phone all day, and had received calls perfectly fine from other people). The manager guy on the phone also was a complete twat, one of them 50ish something 'stick up his arse' sounding stuck-in-his-ways old men. He exlained that the guy who was meant to install it had been waiting outside our house, the one with the white door. I explained that our door was brown and not white, for an instant PAWNED moment. He then said 'he'd sort it' and hung up rather abruptly. Dickheads. Now someone is coming on Saturday morning, so I basically wasted a lot of time yesterday.

I've been looking at the NC10 too, it seems quite good. The white version has a matt cover for those wondering, while the black and blue are glossy. Although I don't normally recommend Play.com for these sorts of things with a voucher and Quidco you can get it for just over £270.

The game does have an update. By the way, I use a homebrew freeloader and it works fine, to those wishing to use a freeloader.

£190??! That's a bit steep isn't it? I wouldn't bother for that price, as that's frankly ridiculous.

And now for my sister's party trick - she shits out games!

D'oh, realised now that this has been going on for a while. Kind of impossible to catch up now. :p -

9. Mr_Odwin. Yar beetches I go for the higher game (thigh slapper if I'm wrong). -
I actually agree. It really is actually quite decent, despite a few niggles like voice acting and the not so great graphic conversion (by this, I mean that it's as if they've simply switched directly to non-cell shaded with no sprucing up done afterwards). So far what I have played is a solid game, with a soundtrack that is very much like the original in style and quality. I tend to take reviews for RPGs with a pinch of salt since most review sites are American Japanophobes. RPGs in general tend to score lower instantly unless they are western RPGs, and same old gameplay unoriginal titles (often FPS) such as Halo 3 score unrealistically high. Tee-hee, all you get is some gold or gel, so I was told. Something pitiful anyway!

Ah I hate when enemies can do that. Hopefully it should still be good though.

Add a talking mouth and tweak it to make it invisible, then set the text. It's near all the creature parts.

I don't recall standing in the way of people's 360s with outstretched arms, preventing their play. People are free to enjoy it, and people are free to not enjoy it (having paid a whopping £40) and then post whatever their view is. Hey, that's a forum. Really, every so often a game comes along that is such a turd compared to what it should have been that everyone is allowed one game that they can rip to utter shreds. Not only is this game, in my opinion, quite poor, it drags the Banjo series with it. I don't think you quite understand my position: I love the previous Banjo games, possibly more than humanly possible, and therefore it's a huge annoyance and a screw up when a game I've been eagerly awaiting, in my eyes, has fallen flat on its arse. Oh and btw, I don't see how comparing it to mediocre Wii games is saving it. XD Most Wii games deserve to be flamed to hell and back, and are far worse than mediocre. Also, me not liking the game neither means it's a good game nor a bad game, as 'bad game' is entirely opinion, just one that seems rather popular for this title.

Best online store to buy laptops/netbooks?
Sheikah replied to triforce_keeper's topic in General Chit Chat
Oh, you want it for style? Heh, best off with something Mac related. I prefer functionality and cost over style. I wouldn't use Play.com as they have a hopeless return system and aren't exactly electronic/PC specialists. Decent price though. -
Insignificant? I feel empowered! I'm but a speck compared to a planet or star but I'm a real boy! What a waste of rock and gas they are. They'll never be real boys!

Skipping things? Hardly. Door 3 or 4 of it didn't load up. How is it skipping things, anyway? If I'm told that a new game orb thingy appears and it practically wants me to place it in the next world opener, it's madness not to do it. Considering the challenges are pretty much all the same it only makes sense to want to at least see the next level; something fresh. How would not going onto the next level 'early' somehow erase the bad driving mechanics/mundane and repetitive challenge experiences? It's getting mediocre ratings for a reason, ya know.

I kept getting the jiggies from all the acts I could in nutty acres, then logbox opened up, did jiggies in that until banjo land opened up, then did some jiggies in that. Got quite a few more jiggies and still haven't reached the second grunty fight, so still pretty much float-less.

That's not my logic, that's some daft logic you made up. Everyone knows Mario Kart involves racing around a track, so to alter your example it would be tantamount to the next Mario Kart being a platformer game. Also, you are forgetting that BK aren't a mass whored out symbol like Mario is, and have had two successful games that were both platformers, so they don't lend their faces to every genre going. The creation of BK/BT spawned fans of those games, who were fans of the series because of the games they were. Those fans are the ones who care the most about a new BK game coming out a full 8 years later, while many newer gamers don't know who BK are and are much less likely to appreciate or buy into a new BK game. Put simply, this game goes against what most Banjo fans want, and for many isn't really that fun, and as a result the majority seem to dislike it. That's what I found, and made me question what the game was playing at. I honestly couldn't find a way round, and as a result dragged them individually. I don't see why they make you transport your jiggies after getting them.
-
Because even if you go in expecting a good game that's not a platformer it still sucks. Practically every review has picked up on the points that pretty much make it pitifully average, but I guess you just don't see it. It's a generic attempt at a third game with all the charm sucked out, and repetitious gameplay that is in itself cumbersome. Also I find it weird that you say that you can't be disappointed unless you go in expecting a 'Banjo platformer'. If they didn't want people to think it would be similar to the other games they wouldn't have made it a Banjo Kazooie game. In fact, they shouldn't have.

I saw the Clannad movie and.. NAN DE?? Do they just change the events that happened in Clannad for fun? Either way, I'm going to watch the after story now, should take the taste away from the film. I swear it sounded like a different voice actor for Tomoya as well as a few of the characters seemingly having personality transplants.

I like how they pick up on items having no weight and vehicles being top-heavy and snagging on everything. This is true, and practically ruins the driving experience (as the environment is usualy littered with little animals and bits here and there, that when snagging can completely screw up your forward direction and mess you up when racing against the clock). Nice to see how they also noted the pointless jiggy transferring process, too. It's good to see a fairer review rather than 7-8, as it's really not deserving. If Rare do make another BK game hopefully they will take on board the criticism as well as the fact that the XBL arcade BK will dwarf this in sales and hopefully not come up with something that is a piece of crap.
