  1. lol. Fackin' noob.
  2. Fire Emblem is not a gritty game at all. And I wouldn't say Xenoblade is either, quite cartoony in fact.
  3. I like how you guys are dismissing this as a 'dream' despite the series originating on a PlayStation format. Just saying if it ever went to a home console again that it could happen and would make absolute sense to happen, is all.
  4. I'm sure we've had this discussion before... The Wii U is performing poorly in every territory pretty much, and if you look at the big third party Japanese titles going to home consoles, they're all coming to PS4 in Japan (Final Fantasy [both XV and X], Kingdom Hearts, Persona, Yakuza, Bloodborne...).That tells any developer that PS4 is gonna pick up even more, because people want them games. Looking at sales of games, PS4 games regularly reach top spot in the charts so there's no real reason to pick Wii U over PS4 on this basis. And look at these sales: [Wii U] Xenoblade Chronicles X (Nintendo, 04/30/15) – 85,586 (New) ^ A very Japanese RPG with mechs, backed by Nintendo and advertised a great deal [PS4] The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Spike Chunsoft, 05/21/15) – 67,385 (New) ^ Western RPG much less targeted to a Japanese audience, on PS4. The difference is like 18K units. That tells me the PS4 has more selling potential (and that Wii owners aren't buying as many games). And of course, the big reason to go with PS4 - maybe a million more sales outside of Japan. Far more important!
  5. Screw that, I would love it to come to PS4. Imagine it with a proper online infrastructure and the available audience over here/US. Imagine!
  6. Definitely up for it @Shorty, may be some time after 9 though (but not sure yet). We're usually on until fairly late on a Friday anyway. Really must level up my 4th Horseman.
  7. lol. What the fuck. "You can't trust them because they've lied in the past" "They're more trustworthy than the other guys!" How do you also manage to relate everything Nintendo to the competition in such irrelevant ways?
  8. Inkredible bargain here... Wii U Premium console, Wind Waker HD, Splatoon and £20 of Argos vouchers for £199 from Argos. 1.57% cashback with Topcashback too (if you have home delivery).
  9. Yep, that's true. Kinda funny that they secured the rights and paid for advertising and it sold better on the competitor console.
  10. Sweet. Coming on now.
  11. Anyone up for a nightfall at 9?
  12. My god easy peasy my ass. There is so much luck in that damn game. Them birds are unpredictable as fuck and the balloon placement changes every time. Lucky son of a gun more like. The lightning game is nothin' but methodical though, them bolts hit like clockwork. You've just got to keep up your concentration.
  13. I got paranoia when I did this on Vita because the trophy doesn't ding automatically. I stopped myself at 536. Let's just say I'm not good at counting in the background. Besides, the real fucker is the 0.0 seconds chocobo race. Sinful.
  14. I feel like I am actually drowning in games, I must have 4 games that I haven't even opened (Wolfenstein, Dragon Age, Diablo 3, AC Unity) because I spend so much time playing Destiny and previously Bloodborne, and right now the Witcher too. And there's a few more I want too. Fuck me, if they have a slow E3 I will not be complaining.
  15. Actually not at all true. Going back to the publisher and asking for more money/time happens all the time. And you can bet your ass the publisher, like all the others, would have dropped the Wii U due its current status 10 times quicker than they did themselves! Game delays happen all the time (with staff obviously continuing to be paid while said game is polished). It's really not incompetence, it's just reality. At least having done a kickstarter they can make their own mind up and choose quality over cutbacks. Maybe a publisher would have forced them to make cutbacks if the Wii U was popular, but we'd probably be left with a shitter game. Ifs and buts. Nobody knows the boundaries! That's the point. They could only manage 23 FPS, so clearly they didn't know at the very beginning that the Wii U would not be able to handle what they had in mind. I also don't know how you can say losing money is just an excuse. If I ran out of money I can assure you I would not be able to do very much, either. Really? Where was your voice when they abandoned the PS3/360 versions, out of interest? Then I guess we really can't blame them at all. I was looking for their original crowdfunding page but couldn't find it.
  16. lol. Good luck shifting them.
  17. Oh come off it. How did you interpret that from what I said? I was pointing out the comparison you made is not a very good one, in the context of things. A film will play the same on any Blu Ray player, so you could make a kickstarter saying "I will make a film and release it on Blu Ray", and nobody will kick up a fuss because everyone with a Blu Ray player can play it. Whether the film or crap or not is a completely separate issue. It's not the same for games as all games consoles are different, both in terms of power, architecture and difficulty to develop for. You could pitch a game, say it's coming to Wii U, then partway through development find out that actually the machine isn't really as capable as you'd initially thought. "It's all time and money" - two finite resources. Who is to say they don't have the money/staff to produce such a scaled back separate Wii U version? Maybe their initial pledge was based on the belief the Wii U was more capable. As I say, this is all round bad for them (they don't honour their pledge in bringing it to Wii U and piss people off, or they scale back their game and people get pissed off), so it's not like they would have deliberately set out to deceive. So let's just say, perhaps, they are telling the truth and this is an unfortunate thing to happen? It's a shame you're back to mockery! What I accept is reality - that not everything always goes as planned. What seems possible on a specific budget may not be possible months later when you find out the machine isn't quite capable. Just recently, The Witcher 3 graphics were downgraded on consoles as the machines couldn't manage such PC-like graphics. Again, is this 'ignorance', or is game development a teensy bit complicated and impossible to know everything about in advance? * Also, "people like me" do not accept shoddy kickstarters because people like me very rarely use kickstarter anyway. So less of the prejudging, eh?
  18. Yeah I'd like to do VoG Hard for the Fatebringer. Can you use a headset? Anyone game for Sunday evening by any chance? 7:30 PM onwards?
  19. Yeah, you had a mental superstitious bout of meltdown. Maybe mentioning it brought our A-game and we wouldn't have won otherwise! We will never know...
  20. I don't make the news, do I? Project Cars had something that I consider pretty important news, I posted. Even then, why does it matter? It's just poor taste; if someone has a valid point about it, why try to downplay their opinion by being like "Oh you're always negative about everything, what a surprise". Why not just try and have a half decent discussion with a little less judgement? I don't understand this requirement for being a "balanced" poster as a prerequisite to expect civility. Most people are not balanced. I am more negative about Nintendo than positive, because in my opinion Nintendo do many negative things these days in relation to positive. And you are the inverse. Let's just not let things like that be the focus! Let's have debates without grudges!
  21. So they had to know beforehand how well their game, which wasn't made yet (in fact, was a concept), would run on every piece of hardware, despite not having the game itself to test on those pieces of hardware? I mean, sure, they can have an idea, but how can they know for sure? The truth is, they could have made it for Wii U. They thought they could have made it run on Wii U in its current state, but it only reached 23 FPS. That sounds like a reasonable margin of error to me; it wasn't exactly running at 10 FPS. Yet cutting enough to gain 7 FPS was not something they wanted to do as they thought it'd diminish the experience for everyone else. It's a catch 22 as they either make a universally shit looking game or screw over a small proportion of gamers. This unwinnable situation is why I don't believe this was a malicious decision (ie. pitch for Wii U then drop it). That film and game comparison is pretty wack. You make a film once and it will run on any Blu Ray player. A game you make separate versions of and they don't all run the same on the several pieces of hardware.
  22. Yeah. What a way to ruin the game.
  23. That's not the issue; the issue is the people on here who have a problem with anti-Nintendo commentary, and get all defensive about it. Go into the Other Consoles board and see how completely relaxed and laid back it is in relation to the Nintendo boards. If someone has a complaint over there, people try and offer up a solution rather than always trying to insult them. I understand Wii's point about feeling like you can't say a thing negative without getting an earful. Almost every single post Wii makes is followed by Ronnie mocking him (honestly no clue how this guy is not banned yet). Sometimes Wii goes over the top, but quite often he doesn't, and there is often something actually there worth discussing. It isn't just him that feels it, either. Just the other day, I commented on Nintendo's hardware in relation to Project Cars (incidentally, negatively) and how it was a shame it wasn't coming and you remarked that it wasn't a surprise to see me posting negatively. Downplaying people's opinions like that is kind of a crappy way to talk to people.
  24. Wow, people actually spend money to unlock players now in the games they already bought? What kind of bullshit is this?
