From time to time, when drunk, I've smoked a bit. I personally am all in favour of the smoking ban though, it's quite nice coming home sometimes not smelling of smoke, or having a nice non smoky atmosphere. I don't see it causing all that much trouble either, people can just go outside for a smoke, though I imagine some people'll be all like 'but i dont want to walk through a big waft of smoke to get into my smoke free pub' and it'll be like you can smoke within 10 metres of a pub or something ridiculous.

The Bard's right, but you, you have a really shit mate. Get new friends.

Maybe it's the gun, that fires the bullet? EDIT:Damn, a bit late with that reply.

My mate's band, they're sort of punk I guess, I dunno how to put stuff into genres accurately. They are pretty good in my opinion, but I might be a little biased :P. Some of you may have noticed me link to them in my sig; http://www.myspace.com/antikid They're releasing their latest song faultlines on iTunes for 79p or something, check their blog for more details, and help them out by buying it if you like their sound!

Yeah it is, I took it up with me and they were both pretty fascinated by it, also took my rubik's cube and wowed them with my ability to solve it

Apparently running is actually really good excercise, go for a few runs a day and keep it up for a while, or even forever, as it'll keep you fit overall anyway. It's ideal to avoid too much fatty or high carbohydrate stuff and try and get lots of proteins, as proteins help muscle growth but carbohydrate and fat(obviously) don't help much in losing weight. I think, I'm really not 100% sure of what I'm saying, but I think it makes sense(as unused energy is converted to fat for storage). Simplest way would be to try and limit your calories you're taking in, effectively dieting. In theory, cutting out the beer should do that, though be warned any changes that are only temporary will probably only have temporary effects.

It was taken right next to a UV blacklight sort of thing, without a flash I assume, didn't expect it to turn out like that though! I guess it gives off some infrared that the camera picked up too! <more pictures to follow in here later>

I dunno about that, TTYD was fun and all, but it had a bit of a silly storyline to it. I wouldn't judge until you've played the first, unless you have, in which case, judge away! I can only imagine it's better though :P

I got taught that in history too, apparently they would be removed by enemies because they are the fingers needed to string and fire a bow or something like that. As for suggestions, I'm with the idea of a kind of 'spam' board to some extent without post counts, though it might take away from the activity of any other boards and get a bit out of hand. Though you said you don't want that sort of stuff, so that's fair enough. As for post counts, I think they should just be done away with anyway(well, hidden away) and a rep system introduced(encouraging quality of posts, ideally).

So, we've had a router for like 2 years now, and I remember attempting and failing to setup a network so that we could share files between the computers and stuff, and with my new laptop on the way, I'm considering giving it another go. So, does anyone have a good easy to follow guide on setting up a network between one computer on Windows 98, two computers on XP and another one on Vista with just a router so that files and printers can be shared between them all? Just bolded what I thinks important there. Of course, if it's too complicated, I can leave out the 98 computer(it's my brother's, and I'm pretty sure it's on 98), though I was hoping to include that one cos it's got a printer on it. The XP computer is this one, the other is my sister's laptop and connects wirelessly, and the other will be my own laptop on vista and connecting wirelessly. Also any information about security issues I should be aware of too would be rather helpful, I'd rather have no network rather than a highly unsecure one.

140 mil? I bet the creators are happy with that, interesting stuff really! However, paranoia has struck and I have uninstalled it now, I dunno why really.

Oh man, I want this so hard, all the mario rpgs that I've played(inc the original) have been so good, I love them. I never got to play this one though, so I'd definitely get it if it hit the VC over here! I recommend you all do the same!

All right, I skipped these pages as there's alot of text to read through, but I can't help but notice, looking at the first page and basically all of the posts on it, it pretty much is just a random post about what you've done aka like a blog sort of thread, thus I see the whole 'go get a blog and don't post it here' thing a bit contradictory to the argument about the thread's 'original' purpose. Is it just me that sees it like that? I say if you want people in the IRC channel, fix that darn chat button! I doubt alot of people here use IRC, and the channel needs a bit of activity going on in it, I've popped in a few times, but it seems to just have people in there not saying much. I also think there IS a difference between an IRC channel and forum chat, as ReZ pointed out in that you can see everything that went on, it's not so much 'here and now' and a little while ago in the past.

I am actually fairly surprised at how well chips are doing! Kind of worried too though...

hey m8, happy birthday, i'd buy you a drink, but i can't, so i'll buy myself one in your honour. Anyhoo, hopw you're out right now having a good old mashup!

Man, normally I'd vote Daddy, but he's been a reet moody so and so lately, and really pissing me off with his broken foot(not that, but the fact he expects us waiting on him hand and foot). So for now, and in favour of chips everywhere, I vote chips. Only cos you caught me on an off day. Chips are pretty bloody awesome though, especially in burger sauce mmmm.... EDIT:Wow I tied things up for chips, doing much better than i expected!

Ahhh ok, thanks! I was only gonna get one because it was cheap, I don't really need it, and I'm gonna look at a way to hook my laptop upto a TV anyway when I get it, for such situations. I guess I'll not bother with the DVD player anymore, though if anyone is interested, there's one for like £20 over on ebuyer.

I dunno, I think I am, but you guys might not see me as I think I see myself. I reckon not all of me comes across, but that's just due to the fact this is text on a page and somethings(like some of my poor humour) doesn't always work in such a situation. I think though, if anything, I might be a little more bare-all on here than IRL, it's a nice place to just get stuff off your chest, throw it out there sort of thing. I'd say I'm 98% the same on here as IRL.

Well if you're considering Acer, I bought this laptop on friday. Of course, it's not going to be here until next monday at the latest, so I can't comment on how reliable it is. My sister however has an Acer laptop from a few years back which I have been using, and the only issue I've had with it is that sometimes the wireless just times out and I have to repair the connection. http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123116 However that laptop is slightly different in the spec, as it has a AMD processor which isn't dual core(though it apparently runs at 2GHz). I don't know enough to compare the two, maybe the guys here do.

A very happy birthday I wish to Moria, he's both an awesome mod, and I also remember it was he who sorted out the whole wifikarts thing ages back, which I always remember him for. So yes, I hope you have the most excellent day you can, then not remember any of it for being so drunk

I googled Broadband Comparison, these are two of the top results; http://www.broadbandchoices.co.uk/ http://www.broadbandchecker.co.uk/?source=goog&keyword=broadband%20comparison First one's a bit better as it has a handy chart like table after you enter your postcode.
