  1. Heh, I thought you meant as a whole as a practice like. You're right though, it's pretty rubbish at alevel(i did it as an AS before doing it now) and the worst bit was the biological stuff. It's all right if you find it all interesting which I do, but as for the common sense stuff, that's pretty much all of psychology for you :p Exactly, I cannot believe how they've achieved status as a 'religion' in some places. It's a total cult, what sort of religion is so secretive? Requires money to 'advance' within it? It's absolutely ridiculous, and their 'fair game' techniques are terrible. The way they collect and hold information about people, make stuff up, they're like a secret intelligence agency or something, and it's quite worrying. I seriously hope this 'religion' is non existant or as close as in 30 years time. I hope no one I know gets into it, cos it's some worrying stuff. I been reading and watching alot of the stuff on xenutv.com and although it's a biased site, it doesn't help scientology at all. The videos speak for themselves, and they aren't fake. Scientology needs to get a grip, or fuck off.
  2. I've heard of these before, though never actually remembered to use them in the rare occurences that I need to ring a special rate line. Not so much related, but for people looking to save all kinds of money, google 'Money Saving Expert' for Martin Lewis's site, it is actually quite useful! Funny youtube video with that guy lol, classy! I tend to just hang up on the people when they ring, but as soon as I get back to what I was doing, some other company will be calling for some crap or other
  3. I had paint.net on my laptop before it broke, I need something easy to use that can do a few more things than paint, but nothing too fancy, and most importantly, free! I don't notice much issues with things from paint for what I use them for, and .pngs aren't too big.
  4. I remember noticing some nintendo stuff in a few things, but I don't remember what exactly. SO maybe I don't remember so well after all! I also remember that advert for potato things where they was playing an N64 on mario tennis or something, I dunno. Not so much placement, but apparently at the brits(or some other recent award show) all the celebrities get a little goodie bag and there were DSs or Wiis in everyone from Nintendo or something. (I really not sure if I know what I'm talking about, you may have noticed)
  5. Hmm, my biggest problem there would probably be that I firstly do not have photoshop, and I know nothing about it. MSPaint noob ftw!
  6. Does this one also play like poop on a GC pad, because I'm never gonna get a 'classic' controller so if I can't play decently with a GC pad, I'm not playing at all!
  7. Question is, how do you do the merge so that it is clean? Well, that's what I was wondering anyway.
  8. Tis a sad news to hear, Neighbours at 17.35 finished at 17.58 was a big part of my growing up as it was on right after the kid's shows we watched and that, and we'd be eating just around that time too. I haven't properly watched neighbours for a while, I kind of went off it after it was changing so much with all the crazy new families and story lines. Even so, it's a dent to the BBC in my opinion, they're just gradually getting shitter.
  9. Ok thanks, now I have some things to look for! I dunno alot about the differences between stuff anymore, so a bit clueless and worried about buying something that'll start breaking and crashing after a year or so. I reckon I'll check out some high street stores tomorrow. Thanks guys!
  10. lol, I considered a macbook, but no. So, there aren't any processors I should avoid, or maybe even ones I should favour? Also, should I get a laptop with vista or not? I kind of want to, but don't want to, is it buggy or anything? Much different to XP?
  11. Whilst fields tactifully pointed out the issue of bytes and bits(alot of people don't know a byte is 8bits therefore divide it all up and stuff), that's not very good for an 8Mb connection is it? I don't think mine is more than 2Mb and I get speeds of 200KB/s sometimes, in theory you should get 4 times that!
  12. Those who remember, my old laptop buggered up, I planned on replacing the broken CD drive after my exams so I could restore windows to fix the problem that had occured. My exams finished yesterday, to my horror when checking the laptop(cos my brother broke the heatsink away from the CPU when fiddling about) it seems some idiot didn't heed his warnings of being careful where he left it(though he left it somewhere stupid) and now the fucking screen is cracked too. So, my dad has offered and been offering for a while to buy a new one, though I said I didn't want to if I could fix this. However, with all these issues, I'm thinking I can't be arsed with sorting it all out, so I am looking to buy a new laptop now. Can anyone give me a good recommendation of places to buy new laptops for a decent price, and what's the best kinds of processors to go for(or ones to avoid). I dunno if that matters much, though I remember a number of people telling me to avoid celeron stuff a while back. My laptop isn't going to need to be too fancy, just something a bit average in the current market that'll last and not encounter any problems or struggles for a good few years.
  13. I just lol'd in real life, I remember I used to watch it as a kid and loved when they found the bonus prizes, though I dunno why they excited me so much beyond being massive inflatable bananas!
  14. Just a word of warning, that includes some software associated with being a p2p app, similar to that used by sky's download service or something. I forget its name, just I remember it begins with k...I think. (not related, but shorty is a redman now? awesome!)
  15. Well yes, we weren't seriously going to incite war between them and scientology. It's tempting, but I'm not sure everyone deserves oxygen. In fact, we should re-locate to mars and make some oxygen pumps and have exclusive control over them until one day a fella named Quaid will come along...
  16. Hahaha, yes! I love it though! Also, as someone mentioned the Mortal Kombats definitely need to fall in somewhere(how did they manage to make two?!), terribly awesome films. Or awesomely terrible, some might say.
  17. Damn! I really wanted to watch this, but I totally forgot as I was cramming for today's exam, looked like it'd be pretty entertaining from what I saw of the adverts. They'll probably repeat it about 12 times or so on their various channels though.
  18. http://www.xenutv.com/ Been watching videos and reading things at that site, and these guys are like some sort of secret intelligence agency more than they are a religion. They need to be shut down. Maybe we can get them and The Most Hated Family in America to have a fight and wipe each other out.
  19. It's quite worrying, they turned up halfway through one of his interviews with one of their critics with a rap sheet of the interviewee's criminal convictions, which is actually what later caused him to explode. Anyway, something my mate found of some other scientologists, being quite hostile from what I observe, to a guy who's just come along to film some stuff(being quite amicable too).
  20. I thought the same, the reported guy seemed to be making more of a point by shouting over him, as the scientologist guy kept cutting him off and talking over him. Even so, he shouldn't have done it, but I do not blame him at all. He clearly wasn't all that raging, as he spoke quite calmly right after in asking if he understood that. He had a totally valid point too! BBC article about the show - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/6650545.stm Some people are sort of missing the point of this thread, it was about the panorama documentary, which hopefully will surface on tinternets soon. It wasn't so much about the cult/religion itself, but about its methods, what they call 'fair game' tactics. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_game_%28Scientology%29 It is...? (original post now has links to documetary!)
  21. Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I love them too! Especially Big Trouble, classic. Doesn't mean they aren't terribly pointless and unexplained.
  22. I find it's the case with most of them, in being the worst possible thing ever, they end up so far there that they touch on being the most awesome too. Two films both deserving of such descriptions, Total Recall and Big Trouble in Little China. The Golden Child was a little bit similar to Big Trouble, but for me it takes second place. I'll think of some more soon, probably. Or not. Who knows? I did think of another, but then I realised I'm more naming the most pointless movies every. This time, the recent Dawn of the Dead remake(not seen original). It was just so...unexplained!
  23. I should have known the south parkers would have stepped into this. Admittedly, I knew pretty much nothing but what I'd learnt from south park, but just seeing this documentary is really creepy scary, and the worrying thing is that they have a fair bit of support already like. Plus lots of celebrities on their side. Plus, they say Psychology/Psychiatry is the tool of the devil basically, they can fuck right off with that. I tell you, that documentary has done nothing but inspire me to want to fight against them. Also, it's debateable about how true it is, but a quote about John Travolta and Kelly Preston from wikipedia; They are DENYING THAT THEIR CHILD HAS AUTISM. Why? Because psychology is the tool of the devil(or words to that effect, from scientology). I do believe the child is adopted, I may be wrong.
  24. Snap, when I did alevels it was basically a free AS(well, sort of, the alternatives weren't upto much, though one WAS a gcse in spanish, but a language from scratch in the space of a year? screw that amount of work). It replaced general studies from year 12, as that was only AS, then in year 13 we did critical thinking 2 periods a week, and one period a week I learnt some japanese to no sort of level at all. Anyway, I only got a D in it, but that is a whole extra AS at a D, at the time it seems like alot, and I guess it kind of is. A whole AS level. Total waste of time, me and my mate had just imported DSes, and spent most of it pictochatting and mario DSing under the tables, classic.
  25. Now with links to the documentary! Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 No, I'm not one, and I'm not converted. This is about what I've just witnessed on Panorama on BBC1(an article from bbc is here). Seriously, anybody who can get a hold of this when it hits the internet, watch it. They're like some fucking secret mafia police, and that isn't an exaggeration. There was much in the documentary of the actual content and teachings about scientology, it mainly focuses on their ruthless methods of attempting to discredit any critics, in particular ones who call the 'religion' a cult. I tell you, that is some freaky worrying shit, and for anyone who saw it, feel free to discuss it here. EDIT:This thread is about the documentary and scientology's 'fair game' principles, which were quite evident throughout the documentary and not so much the religion itself. Have a read of this for a better idea of their stalkerish behaviours; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_game_%28Scientology%29
