  1. Maybe that's because Nintendo are a bunch of frickin idiots?! The point should be that the gc pad CAN be used to play snes games. Not that because of their laziness/money grabbing/plain stupidity they came up with a solution to a problem they made.
  2. When I grow up, I want to be him. He's such a nerd lol! Raises a good point though, who the hell plays with the tips of thumbs?? That's just plain weird. Personally I haven't bought a CC, because they seem like a total rip of money, only thing that I hear they're good for is SNES games cos Nintendo are a bunch of f*cking cocks who say the GC pad can be used for all games but don't bother to fucking remap any buttons of even give us the option so in a games such as smw or dkc, running and jumping isn't really an option, unless you hold the controller like a spaz or have spazzhands. Myself, as I said, have bought a CC controller so I can't comment. Seems less likely that I'll buy one now. I want it to either go down to like £5, or for there to be a wired version. Expect me to waste my batteries when I don't need to?? No thanks.
  3. You, are missing out. It's one of those films that's simultaneously the best and worst thing you'll ever see. AT THE SAME TIME. I would also put Big Trouble in Little China on that list.
  4. I saw it recently(well not really, just at some point in the last year) and I've opted for Get Shorty which I've never seen before, and I'm not really following that right now to be honest. Maybe I should have gone with Arnie...

    Scars!

Ooo scars, interesting thread topic! I've got a couple of scars and lasting marks, I'll take some pictures tomorrow. I think the main cause of the scars I have are from being retarded as a child and playing with shit I shouldn't have. I've got some crappy skin, it scars/discolours after cuts quite easily and for a really long time.
  6. Interesting stuff, you read that from an actual study? If so, where? I'm still looking for inspiration for my project next year, and that seems pretty interesting. As for fate and destiny and what 'powers' it, I'd imagine the answer is itself. The issue with it is that, like God, it's a pretty hard thing to prove to exist. As someone said earlier, do you really have a choice or just believe you do? Once you've firmly made the choice you can't go back and change it, how do you know you weren't fated to make that choice? I'm sure you've all seen the matrix, so I won't go on about that.
  7. I dunno about that explanation. It's an interesting topic, I touched upon it a bit when I was doing my study into luck for my project this year. Apparently luckier people see the good in the bad, whereas unlucky people don't, even if it's the exact same turn of events. (i see somebody swiftly dealt justice to hobbizinio's post)
  8. I swear, this guy is reading my mind or something. I second everything in this post.
  9. The real crazy people! (no offense to anyone who has psychiatric problems)
  10. I think the difference is very fine, but in the original sense of the phrase, it is saying something is happening for a reason. The bad event(assuming it's bad) happens because of some reason or another. However, later finding good fortune out of the bad event and then saying that the good event was the reason for the bad event is a bit...erm, I dunno the word I'm thinking of(counterintuitive? backwards?). It's like explaining a cause with an effect, and not an effect with a cause. The good thing happens for a reason, the reason being the bad event that happened before. Not the other way round?
  11. I like this, I like it for a number of reasons. I'm a bit of a believer in half arsed(and I do believe wrong) 'karma' theory, and that bad things happen to bad people and vice versa, but I think it's just to help me through life when shit comes up, and helps me to be grateful for the good things. Basically the kind featured in My Name is Earl. I also believe it's a good saying because it helps people to not dwell on the matter, people like to dwell on things that happen and wonder why and wish they could go back and change it when they simply can't, and it helps them to get over that fact. Third, I think you can look at it in a sort of after effect way, something bad happens and 'Everything happens for a reason' you later find something positive that happens that wouldn't have happened had the bad not preceeded. Like finding the silver lining in the cloud basically. Well, I guess that's more along the lines of the original intent actually. As for fate and destiny, I'm not sure if I believe in it. I'm in two minds, sometimes I think it does exist to an extent, sometimes I think we make our own.
  12. I'm not sure why, but this made me let out a real loud snicker as I started laughing and tried to hold it back. If you see her before the bus, and after the bus, what's happening in between that you don't see each other? Do you remember what things were like before you were going out? Act like you did then, pretend you never actually went out(obviously, dont literally pretend it, but act as you would have before). Act as if there was nothing between you, acting like there's still something whilst you're supposedly on a break seems a bit...paradoxial to me? I dunno. Or, you could get it on with someone else, and if it ever comes up in future constantly refer to that fact you were on a break, ross style. Well no, don't do that last bit, just all this talk of being on a break and I feel like this thread needed a reference to it. What I think you do need to do though, is to seriously sit down with yourself, and consider the fact you may never ever get back together, and fully accept that fact too.
  13. Heh, that looks like a pretty cool dog(Haggis's), especially like the first pic where he looks like he's got a cheeky little grin on his face! Myself, I don't claim ownership to them, but in the household we has a rabbit and a couple of guinea pigs. I'll take some pictures and post them when I find some procrastination time. One day I dream of owning a cat...
  14. They're a bit leading too, I just went back and answered No to everything and guess what? It came out as being low on everything. I felt for some of them as well, it wasn't as clear cut as yes or no.
  15. Lol, the best bit was that after I finished it, there was an ad on the page, but I thought for a brief second the quiz was insulting me! And of course, my results are as follows, I was worried during the test, but kind of glad now. These tests should be taken with a pinch of salt though, got all sorts of problems with them. Paranoid: Moderate Schizoid: Low Schizotypal: Moderate Antisocial: Moderate Borderline: Moderate Histrionic: Low Narcissistic: Moderate Avoidant: Low Dependent: Moderate Obsessive-Compulsive: Moderate Feels nice to know I don't have anything more than moderate! Yay! I imagine the tests bases its measures off general averages of the population, which is most likely to differ between genders so they have to factor it in?
  16. Cancel on her one day. You won't want to, but this really seems to me like she's totally playing you for everything to be her way. You start off like this and it'll come back to kick you in the arse later on.
  17. The Yacht? Is that the one down Long Lane, not too far from Total petrol garage? I've never been there, as I said I tend to stick with wetherspoonses, and don't go out around bexleyheath much. I like Greenwich, it's pretty nice, it's just that it's a bit of a trek getting there! I usually go blackheath with a bus then walk down. I know what you mean about the people too lol, I remember being in Lloyds once with a mate and everyone looked the same! Since Lloyds was changed it's a bit empty and devoid of them people though, mainly full of older people, though I've actually only been there once and that was on st patrick's. Alot of the people I hang out with these days are kind of alternative, but having said that they all look the same as well, black hair, emo-styled covering one eye or spiked.
  18. I'd say to confront him and tell him to tell everyone to leave you alone, because you didn't tell his secret to anymore. If it still continues, just fucking punch him. Now I know some people may dissapprove of this, and violence isn't really the answer, but I remember one time everyone was having a big joke at my expense and they thought it was funny, and it was at first, but then it just started grinding on me and getting worse, one day I snapped and just hit someone. I'm not proud of that, but it DID solve the problem. Of course, your school seems a bit messed up, and I dunno if he'd be the sort of guy to grass if you did, then you most probably WOULD get excluded. I still think an all out vendetta to ruin his entire life is not the way to go though, and it will be something you'll probably regret when you're older(unless you actually just grow up to be a ****). People here are right, you have practically become a bully.
  19. I don't live too far from Platty in that case, in a town called Bexleyheath(we used to be classed as barnehurst though). It's got a bit of a reputation as a chavvy area and a bit of a crappy place, but I happen to quite like it. Just 5-10 minutes up the road from me is a rather nicely sized high street/shopping mall which has been pedestrianised to an extent, it's quite handy if you ever need anything cos you can usually find stuff there. There's alot of pubs around the area, which does lead to a bit of trouble on a friday or saturday, but I don't mind going out around here, and then there's lots of choice of where to go. Got two wetherspoonses(one's closer and on the pedestrianised bit, but it got redone recently from more of a bar style to a pub style because of all the trouble i think). There's also a cinema right near to the shops, so if I ever fancy catching a film it's just a few minutes away. It's also absolutely brilliant for buses, quite a little bus hub so you can get to most places you want with just 1 or 2 buses. Also, central london is only like an hour a bit away by train. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bexleyheath The only real problems I find are the slight numerousity of chavs, and there's ALOT of schoolkids around at school ending time, mainly congregating up at the Broadway(the shops, namely the pedestrianised bit). Also, kids seem to think they're untouchable, and can be a bit lairy. Apparently there's alot of fights amongst themselves as well. My friends don't like to come out around here, so I usually find myself going up to welling on greenwich for a night at the pub.
  20. darkcloud, telling it like it is. This is my kind of view, though he expressed it alot more bluntly than I did lol, awesome post.
  21. Happy Birthday to you, and your ever so awesome avatar too! Congratulations too, you're now legal worldwide! Hope you have a great day, what you got planned for it?
  22. What I don't get is why does he deserve worse than what you have gotten? I remember a few who fell from grace back in school, I remember one guy who used to be a really good mate basically got rejected and laughed at by practically everyone, and I didn't care at the time because I had little issues with him, later on though and a bit now, I do regret the way he was treated by everyone. I don't know how the guy who instigated most of his downfall feels. I think however, the guy who lost his social standing actually ended up in a position which brought him better things than he would have gotten otherwise, which makes me happy to think of, and he did invite me out for his birthday drink this year and I went, and it was cool. I just don't see the point in destroying/attempting to destroy someone for some little injustice they did to you. Have you even talked to him about it? Told him it wasn't you, found out why he thinks it is? Pointed out that he told SEVEN other people? Told him to get his little bitches to back off and leave you alone? I think you should have done alot more before going down this path, or maybe not go down this path at all.
  23. No way did that happen on grange hill?! That's crazy, even for grange hill! I still don't see why you're so intent on this heinous revenge against this guy, he hasn't ruined your life so why ruin his?
  24. Couldn't you maybe take some unpaid leave? Or just up and change, and hope if everything goes wrong that they might take you back on the job? What is it you do? I think alot of people have too many reasons why they can't do things they really want to do. Admittedly at the moment, I say I can't do anything because I have uni, but I really do have uni! I like to think that when I'm done with uni that I'll wake up one day and just leave the country, and see where things take me until I come back(assuming I will!). It's a distant dream, I'd like to just travel, just be moving around care free, but I'm not dissatisfied with this life I have. I like it here when friends are around, and I can get by when they aren't. It'd be really cool if I could go on some crazy adventure with someone I know though! As for you, what's really stopping you? Sometimes you've gotta just take that leap of faith.
  25. Doctor Glue, he's magic like that. Can't believe he dropped his screwdriver though, amateur! You'd think he'd have learnt something simple like holding onto it at a crucial moment given the amount of adventures he's been on and how long he's been around! Silly doctor. As for the episode, I liked it. I was never a big doctor who fan before this recent revival(i can only remember the 1996 telemovie, and barely) and I haven't watched it religiously(i did rather like torchwood though), I tend to not like the dalek episodes, for such a deadly race the doctor seems to live alot, and they seem a bit pants like. I dunno, maybe it's just me. I did like how today's ended though, also like that last dalek basically giving the doctor a big 'fuck you' and teleporting away, classy.
