Ahhh, I used to have that with an old phone but thankfully not with my G4. Weridly the burn seems harder to see atm(diff area/lighting tho) and Google did suggest some folks suggesting it might go away - maybe something on my phone just happened to keep it as screen on for a long time and it was a temporary effect. I'll see if I can still see it in the morning.
-
Bit of a bump to my Moto G4 friends - have you noticed that the status/icon bar up top actually causes a screen burn? I've noticed faint images of the old notification icons that much have stayed up there whilst I've used my phone extensively. Bit of an oversight imo - especially as the phone is only like 9 months old?

Great, looks like it's time to relearn infusions! Such a fucking arsehole when you fuck it up tho. I can't infuse anything yet because I don't have shards etc and tbh seeing how low these exotics are to think about getting them up later is a bit crazy. Am I likely to simply reroll/pickup better levels of exotics I have/equivalents just via engrams later? I don't mind the extra time cost at a lower level if it keeps something that might be better used elsewhere later.

I doubt I'll be up to scratch for raising this week myself, tho I would like to try it at some point and possibly blind. What would the recommended minimum power level in you guys' opinion? I can maybe make it a target to aim for with my Hunter and maybe be a very backup reserve depending when it is!

Did a ridiculous 11-hourish sesh on this yesterday, basically running the story with Psychick(done all story before) and Katca(none and no destiny) from the farm onwards, tho we haven't quite finished. Major spanner in the works is that Katca likes story and looking around, and sometimes in Destiny you just wish folks could do it on their own dime! By the same token as a fresh Destiny newb I did want to try and not just rush her through or trigger stuff without her, but you can't always control the fire team The annoyance we had was the middle bit of needing to level for a story mission - on my hunter it wasn't an issue as I'd crucible'd and roamed a bit and got XP casually waiting to story proper on the a noob. We were concurrently running the story but somehow our levels staggered a bit(8,9,10) and I think we spent about 3-hours getting Katca from 8-11 just to do another mission, having broken for an hour and a half before thinking we'd jump right into the next one when we came back. Bit annoying, though it swayed us into doing a few Adventures(actually ones slightly above our PL) and they were pretty cool/fun in places. Been jumping into a few public events and heroicing where I've figured how or seen how with someone else - I'm enjoying that random little puzzle aspect to it. Back to the rest! For me most of it was repeated story so I could take a bit more in this time round(just done the one on Io and back on the farm), and tbh it's pretty much a bit of D1 all over again, if even possibly a bit more simplistic. Doesn't feel too varied; and I feel like that's so far felt to extend elsewhere - ofc having not done or had access to all of the content yet this may soon be a forgotten thought. For me knowing the meat of the game is going to lie outside of the story I also don't mind too much - I am wondering how much Katca will come to realise and/or enjoy the later stuff; but she's already thinking about which guns she seems to like and not like so I'm hoping we've got another convert to the Destiny cause. We'll hopefully finish the story this evening or tomorrow as 3 of us, then I'm gonna do the same with my Hunter who's a mission behind my Warlock now, despite being level 20, and then I'm looking forward to the deliciously crack-like grind for all the shit I need to make the good gear I want. EDIT: ran Katca through 3 QP crucibles(clash control clash?) and 2 competatives(the bomb one?). She wasn't really keen on Destiny for the PvP stuff but we did better than I expected based of her own worries of letting us down lol. We actually brought a comp back from 0-5 to an annoying but satisfyingish loss of 5-6, and our control loss was within just a few points. She doesn't seem fully happy with her guns for either PvE at times or PvP but tbh I think that'll just be getting used to stuff and finding your niche, as well as adjusting to the PvP differences and all the game and interface stuff. I'm hoping the post story stuff will just be enough to keep her interested!

Microsoft are basically doing a bit of the ol' Nintendo imo. They've grown arrogant(possibly due to their youth) and thought they'd get away with it. I think their division also as part of a larger company doesn't neccessarily matter to them as much. I think ps4 is different because Sony's gaming division brings so much to them and probably kept them alive and saved them from potential disaster. I think MS just haven't realised they have to adapt - some might argue Sony made the same mistakes in the past until the ps4 and more engagement with the west. I think the bheaviour of MS compared to others will look a bit different off the actual situations because of them being a part of a much more successful company. Some have wondered for a while if they'll even properly continue pursuing the home video game console market - I think this is a sign of indication of the level of engagement they might have going forwards.

For my single player evaluation(I know it's a DP but I'm using my privilege) - I've not FT'd with anyone properly so far but I'm liking it. I like that the world's are a bit more open(seeing a public counting down from orbit is kinda cool) and selecting said world isn't tying ones hand neccessarily. Obvs the trade-off is the mission/cutscene cut ins but they're really not bad at all. I've been finding it more vibrant/pretty than I expected, as well as some really cracking audio early on(less fussed now). Need to see what it'll be like after story/teaming up more/doing more public events etc. I've done an 'adventure' so far that I thought was a mission but maybe it's the new style of patrol? So far got Earth and Titan unlocked. Feeling progression to be a bit quick but tbh I know that's the the case - sitting around 70-80ish on my power now iirc.

Reputation so far from what I see seems to be collectibles that are the traded for it? Did a reasonable bit of crucible(and a couple story missions) earlier. Mostly was control and DM/elims(always forget the name for it) iirc. Bit annoying it's a randomised playlist(did two comps too, lost one won one) but as I said to a few of the others...goddaaaaanm I have missed control, my pulse rifle, and my fists punching a guardian the fuck out. 4v4 could be better, but it isn't terrible. I think I'd still prefer 6v6(particualrly in control, as @daft made me consider) as it gives more room for overall variance to allow balance for lesser skilled folks with less frustration hopefully. Other than the two comps I played QP otherwise - as ever its be expected of online. Some on objective, some not, some just not even thinking tactically or paying attention(imo that's the crux on control - zones, radar, and gambling on their plays off of it). I dunno what Bungie are like with their Dev stuff and fan demand - but I poss wouldn't be surprised to see an eventual 6v6. I am not finding it too unfun so far - tho I'm a level 9ish and I can definitely tell when I'm hitting some super noobs and it might not be fun for them - tho I've been on both sides. Time shall tell. I feel like I'm not minding it as much as I did in D1 - but that may be a combination of the game being new/opposition not too skilled up, or having basically been playing OW for over a year now.

I was never too keen on the crucible from 6v6 to 4v4 exactly because I thought it'd be less fun for solo or low level folks such as myself. Still possibly feel it but not sure. Only played two so far. Played two games for a milestone yesterday - strangely topped the team(absolute last minute clutch too) for kills despite being a 2 with and against 20s genuinely couldn't understand how tho, but my efficiency and damage was second last anyhow. That was a 4v4. Next one was the one where to collect the player's marker when they die or try to save your mates' ones instead? Clearly nobody on my team knew what was going on and they did - went about 0-15 in no time. After that I think we had a leaver or rejoined or something and people wizened a bit but it was just too late and not tight enough. Didn't want to leave but was pretty quickly demoralised in that match(also still ended on time). Gonna have a crack at a couple now. Obvs not got any really decency on my weapons but hopefully it won't suck too much

Miiverse, Wii U Chat and Tvii Shutdown In November
Rummy replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Personally I'm somewhat the same. I really want one, but for the price it's at and the trust I frankly don't have in Nintendo after seeing them do something like this again really makes it a difficult purchase for me. I can't invest in something like that if it's online/game features are going to be taken off within 5 years, though as you say hopefully it won't be like that with the paid service - but even that puts me off because I don't see the value in it. It's a real shame as the Switch ticks a lot of boxes for me and I would without a doubt be gaming far more(and probably actually gotten somewhere in BotW) if I had a Switch, but for me they're making it hard to take that plunge -
Miiverse, Wii U Chat and Tvii Shutdown In November
Rummy replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Far too soon imo - especially with many Wii u's and particularly 3DS's out there and games integrated into it. Massive fuck you to the fans imo - why shut it down so soon? Enough people were fucked off with the Wii u as it was - give them some support for another year or two at least until Switch has a more than solid foothold? Big slap in the face imo - also big loss to a game like Mario Maker. Another example of Nintendo not learning lessons and repeating mistakes imo - it's the same as the Wii servers shutdown(who's gonna give me the excuse of hosting being out of their hands again this time??) as I see it, and not necessary quite right now. They obviously seem to have implemented something without forethought to real long-term sustainability - the crux of most of what I end up finding criticism against Nintendo for. It's a choice they're making here imo, and I think it's a terrible one that someehat harshly disrespects the loyalty of some of their fans and consumers. -
Monolith managed to run a pretty big tab of credit for me from Xenoblade Chronicles alone - enough to help sell me the WiiU. Depending what comes of this it could definitely be a decider for a Switch choice later down the line. Definitely interested to see what they come up with - I think as ever we may be pleasantly surprised!

Decided to stop being such a pansy about it and bought it last night. Definitely see what's being said about the devastator - I used the insta-15 boost to start a bio-specialist and got a legendary 15 devastator with a crapton of slots pretty quick - just a massive shame it'll be outlevelled soon enough. Speaking of which - I dunno what it is or if maybe playing a main/200+ character for a while but I'm seeming to really struggle on the first few missions - sometimes even just on rookie! Can't tell if it's maybe a gear thing(ie would have had better at the time on previous runs from lvl1) or me being too reckless! The primary weapon hack is kinda cool I guess - energy guns range is a bit crap and not sure it suits/works so well out of tank hands - on the flip side of that though it seems tank(started one of them too :p) can't actually fire SMGs particularly well because of its dual wield? Like the times I tried it seemed to struggle to get shooting. Still, finding something about the game rather addictive - I think I'll be continuing to play it for a while to come. Nice easy one to kinda sit back and not think too much with.

It's a shame to see it happen but this looks like a bit of a total washout this year. I've had a shitty bit of flu for most of the week that's still with me so wouldn't come out uptown tonight. Lesson for next year is to organise ourselves a bit earlier and firmer!

I'll bump this over the PS+ Free games thread. I'm still getting a nice amount of value out of this. It's a very nice little 'quick game's mentally for me that is never a quick game. Given I got it for free I'm very tempted by the complete DLC pack at around 7 quid - but I wanted to ask how many other folks bought or got much out of it? Obvs brings some cool new weapons I've sent others using tho I am also still kinda happy with the defaults I've got(or rather found) but I am thinking if I'm gonna keep paying this game it makes sense to DLC now rather than later. Just wondering if anyone else here did? Progresswise I've only completed full W2 with one tank char and I've been mostly playing that for XP/levels to 300 recently, but I'm thinking of getting back onto the other characters if I get the DLC. Dunno whether to do it or carry on without though.

Given this is theoretically in a day or two - do we even have a plan and list of attendees?

looks like absolute crap to me, cheap and doesn't appeal at all. Not even an actual N64 pad layout either!

It is good if you stop expecting it to be RL. It obviously isn't RL not going to be - if you want to play RL then go boot it up and play it! Personally I've been really enjoying this year's Lucio ball. It feels slower than last year's and on the surface this slower pace and less interference makes it seem shallow - but as with everything OW a good team can make it fun. I've taken to holding spawn positions for the round - left field, right field, and goal. Using the jump pads can move you around quicker and the ult adds too. Honestly I think it's good if you accept it as it's own thing and start playing it in line with that. The power isn't in yourself or Lucio really - it's positioning, passing, covering the field and the closest aspect it probably has is that 'random' goalness/saveness to compare it to RL for me. For anyone enjoying it who fancies comp I'm down too - placed 2400ish from 5 losses and 5 wins. I lost in duo and won solo tho, so not sure if there's a wanky queuing bias anywhere.

I was never a big Sonic kinda guy so I'll probably pick this up digitally eventually on a sale or so for PS4. Was watching that special stages etc vid the other day and it did get me kinda excited/nostalgic(espesh trying that sega classics emu thing for Sonic 1 on my phone) but looking at the money of it I'm not sure I'd pay that price for that content now - but I'll earmark half of it for some other indie title or DLC for something I like, then buy this on the cheap when I can!

Last page people are asking why SF isn't being supported - this page people are talking about the Switch's still sub-par online features. Can't help but wonder if those two things might go hand in hand, especially with something like SF where people are more likely to play each other online than offline these days... (Tho Switch's portability is good for local, as was said with Wii U both should be easy options)

I think the big difference is the use of motion controls attached to your screen. In Splatoon 1 it wasn't too bad because you didn't have to actively look at the screen you're moving between your hands - whereas obvs with Switch and the JoyCons attached you would. I've not played so can't obviously comment fully, but trying to picture motion controlling attached to the screen seems to my mind like I'd get a bit put off by it.

Ahhh I didn't do the sheet cos it doesn't work on my damn phone! Kept forgetting to do it on my laptop. I'm definitely in for Friday and Sat @Zell, but I probs won't do the escape room.

Ahhh! Yeah the bastion/shields combo is a cheap and often used strat - but I've mostly been QPing lately and annoying trying to break it. I think anything with a shield is a good shout - Orissa is great for popping down and taking a turret or bastion(if he doesn't move). DVa needs someone to back her and zens a good play if you can get a discord and cover to charge then shoot. Also been contemplating some junkrat for shooting over tops/corners when there's reins/Orissa's helping.nmy biggest frustration with bastions are essentially teammates not seeming to prioritise him or boosters to him.

I'm one of the rudest, and somewhat ironically if you heard me just talk without knowing me, racist brown people you'll meet. I love a harsh joke, a rude joke, an inappropriate joke. They're all always contextual however and I am aware of the actual whole inappropriateness that I probs wouldn't do it with other people. Am I offended as a result? Generally no. I get annoyed sometimes because I wonder if a jokes being run for its own sake or rather to make a point/put someone down but I sometimes realise in my own harshness I sometimes probably come across with a more malignant and solid seeming intent than I mean. I think it takes(beyond a few things) a lot to offend me - tbh more often that not I find greater offense in things that might offend others - but on that note I try my best not to self-righteously leap to their defense without knowing it's cool.
