I have no idea what the problem might be, since i don't use the Mail app in android. I just forward all my email accounts to Gmail, and use the Gmail app. Have you tried clearing the cache thingy and memory for the Mail app?

Hmmm yes. Possibly. The current trend is down to some people DDOS'ing one or two of the main Bitcoin trading sites in an attempt to make people panic and sell, but i think it might have been a bad move in the long run anyway.
