So i've not got very far with BOTW2 - I kind of got bored with it and stopped playing. ______________________________________________ I did however buy A Short Hike following H-o-T's recommendation. I've played a couple of sessions on it, and it's pretty good! It's kind of like if Animal Crossing were a platformer/puzzle game? I haven't finished it though - but i hope to soon. _____________________________________________ Another game that I played was Far Cry 4. This is a game that I bought many years ago, shortly after I played the 3rd one i think, and it has sat in the wrapping under my TV the entire time. I finally had an hour to spare, and decided to try it out. It's a charming game (completely different to the 3rd one - that came as a surprise), and it ended up quite emotional. It's about a son whose mother dies, and her last wish is to have her ashes scattered in her home country. So you go on a journey to fulfil her dying wish, eventually placing the ashes next to her daughter's ashes (your half sister) at a shrine. Like I said, it's quite a tear-jerker. Bit short though. Anyway, 3rd game struck off my pledge list!

Who? Oh, you mean Orange Peach? Yeah, she should get her own track. She's so iconic.

Did they need to use 3 near identical shades of blue for that plot? I would imagine they are impossible to tell apart if you're colour blind.

It was very pretty to look at, but I remember being incredibly frustrated with the actual gameplay. I guess I'm just shit at flight sims, but I could never complete many of the objectives (I remember trying to keep that medical freighter alive in one mission being nigh on impossible).

I had to Google who Ganacci was. That is a very bizarre choice for a guest character for a fighting game... Ronaldo was bizarre, but he is a global superstar with a huge following, so I can see the thought process of crowbarring him into a fighting game. A Swedish-Bosnian DJ? A not particularly famous one? It's like someone's weird fever dream.

Not sure why they're bothering to add any other characters tbh. Everyone is going to choose cow. Cow Kart World.

Is N-Europe still number one in Europe?

I don't see why they would add a Nintendo section given that it has nothing to do with the UK. All the articles I've seen have mentioned James Bond, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Paddington, given that they are all original British IPs.

I didn't realise that the sequels got rid of the time limit. Yeah, they do sound more appealing without it. I quite enjoyed marshalling my little army of Pikmin and gathering parts, I just didn't like the stress of knowing that night time was approaching, or that I wasn't gathering them efficiently enough. Maybe one day I'll play the other ones...

I always hated playing Pikmin as I found the time limit way too stressful. I don't think I ever even got too far in it either. I only remember seeing a couple of environments, and probably only got half the parts. I did like the idea though (which is presumably why I bought it in the first place).

Man, i'm in such a state of gaming ennui right now. Even when i have a spare 20 minutes of time to myself, the thought of firing up the Switch or PS4 to play a game seems like such a mountain to climb, which is ridiculous. I see all the fun games that others are playing, and all the cool announced games, and I feel left out that i don't get to play, but when I actually get the opportunity to play something - I can't be bothered. I'm not sure how to dig myself out of the rut. One issue might be that all the games I have on my backlog are on there for a reason - that i don't really want to play them and that's why i never have. But i can't really justify buying new ones when I might never play them either, or that i've got all these unplayed games laying around. Anyone else going through similar?

I've been following all the excitement from a distance, since I know full well i'm not going to be getting one at launch (which coincides with my remortgage date, so no money available that month anyway). Out of the games that they've shown off - only Mario Kart World looks to be one that i'd be interested in. I reckon that if my kids turn out to be big gamers, then i'll probably buy a family Switch 2 in a few years time just to play that. I think if i suddenly came into a spare £600, and a large amount of free time, i'd more likely be buying a PS5 anyway.

It's crazy the effect that the US has on the rest of the world.

We occasionally get prototype stuff manufactured at work, and we've dabbled with some Chinese companies. You can get the exact same part sent over from China, usually quicker, and for about a quarter of the cost of getting it done locally (one company offered to make us the first few parts for FREE). Obviously if there's anything wrong or if you need a quick mod, you can't do anything, but it's easy to see why people will turn to Chinese companies.

This does look a bit dodgy, but I'm definitely ready for some more spoof movies. It's a forgotten genre.
