    Destiny

    So...that Destiny update. Anyone up for Iron Banner Rift? I'm kind of in the mood for whole team of us in Crucible.
  6. I got a code. Downloaded it and will be online tonight. Literally not got a clue what this game is about. Didn't even know it was online.
  7. Personally, slow. I concentrate on form and maintaining tension. If I know it's going to be a hard lift I might speed it up a tad but that probably matches what should be the normal speed. If I can't complete the set I will sometimes have the next lower weight ready next to me and switch to that to finish out the set. Really depends on a whole host of factors including where I am in my routine, how I'm feeling generally, the type of lift, etc,.
  8. Today I did chest and triceps. On bench I did 110kg for three sets of five (accidentally wrote 5x5 on my Instagram) but I had quite an overeager spotter. So I'm a little unsure of really how much I did. I don't think he helped at all on at least the first couple reps of all three sets – so that's good – but it's hard to gauge. He said it was all me (except on the last rep of both the second and third set) but he's one of these people who doesn't even come close to touching his chest on bench so I think he's a lot more generous than me when it comes to form and what is construed as 'help'. Still, that's all pretty promising. I think on Monday I'll do negatives at 115kg. Over overhead pressed 60kg for 3 reps. So there's that, too. Good day at the gym all in all.

  11. Yeah, I really angle that the Amazon were created to protect the world, like some sort of mythic peacekeepers. Really like the WWI setting, too.
  12. Fair enough if it doesn't strike a chord. I think comparisons with GotG are going to be inevitable, no matter what happens, the premises aren't a million miles away from each other and the trailer is going to have to hit the same basic beats as any trailer introducing a new bunch of characters to the world.
  13. Have no idea how you could think it was poor?! Honestly, would love to know what you would have changed. I fecking love David Ayer. Love how they've just embraced who bat-shit all the characters, down to Katana's sword stealing the souls people it kills.
  14. We should have a new (technically the first) trailer tomorrow during the DC special after The Flash airs on CW. That should give a better idea hopefully. Bar Sabotage – which I haven't seen and sounds like it was pretty bad – I'm a big fan of David Ayer so I have a lot of hope.

    Because sod all has happened in Destiny for a while. I expect an announcement next week.

  18. From what I've seen, of all the things innumerable people have complained about, Batman's voice hasn't been one of them.
  19. I have rope pulldowns to do at the end of that routine, my triceps are absolutely wiped. Think I went from about 38/36kg on rope to 21kg – it's a little bit mortifying since it's the first isolated tricep exercise I do in the routine. I guess if they're tired they've been worked out but it still feels weird.

  21. I love posting screenshots/footage to Facebook. Suddenly you have a whole load of people who know nothing about games commenting it. Suddenly you have the most unlikely people talking to you about something like Mad Max or The Witcher. That's become a part of social gaming to me. The feed on the PS4 is a piece of shit though. It's just an unfiltered dirge of un-targeted content.
  22. It's definitely tough. If you're failing I might just recommend lowering the weight. OHP is a lift with relatively slow progress too, which I don't think helps the feeling.
  23. Well I do bench followed by overhead press, so I don't have that problem. I think Bench and OHP are both necessary parts to a good chest/shoulder routine.
  24. A proper bench press strengthens you chest, shoulders, triceps, forearms, core, lats, and even your legs if you’re pressing your feet into the floor as you’re supposed to be. It's an absolutely massive exercise, the problem is a lot of people don't do it properly. I see it all the time. I've benched for years and even I need to focus on my form. It looks like a simple lift but it really isn't.
