Well as long as a developer or what is much more important the publisher of a obviously neglected game gets more money than he spends nothing will change. Time and money is what developers need to make a good game idea into a great game. I am not a fan of the BiA concept but with decent technical quality I would have tried it. Especially nowadays shooters improve a lot with atmosphere which implies a higher technical standard eg. graphics, sound, physics - story might be the same horror story everyone already knows but as long as you feel the fear nothing is wrong with that. BiA needs smoke, sharp textures where you can see bullet holes, crackling walls, fear in the faces of other soldiers, burning tanks and so on. The problem is BiA for Wii was nearly completed in a year. So it is obviously: Developers had to reuse a lot of existing material and since architectures are different they just tone down the quality to make it run instead of spending time to adjust it to the Wii and make it look XBOX like or better. Call me a pessimist but I believe 80% of the third party Wii games will still be generic ports or other low effort games (which is a shame because certain games would be soooo good on the Wii) which leads to the Gamecube situation: Wii first/second party games rule the market and developers again shift to other consoles ...

Well the console hardware base is pretty good right now - Nintendo did well to aim at a broader market with a smaller price than the competition. In the long term however we will see if casual gamers will put 60€ on the table as often as a hardcore gamer might do. In the end it is all about games not the console....

No chance. Too ambitious for a first time project. Even a small game as download content takes a very dedicated team with a lot of resources (people, knowledge, time). I doubt that is the case here.

Okay 78° is too hot unless your room is really warm > 25° You could check if your fan is dusty and put it on 2 pieces of wood so air can get better into the slot (depending on your model). If that doesn't help I guess you should send it in. Sometimes temperature can go over 70° but only when really playing demanding games like BF2142, Fable, etc.

I liked Black and White. The Movies was fun for a few hours and then the motivation to play on was getting smaller and smaller. I felt that the game somehow did not want me to be creative - all this star upgrading, releasing movies became stressing instead of challenging. I mostly ended up concentrating on one movie and putting out average movies with a few clicks to keep my money on a good level. Fable sounded promising and ended up being good - like many other games. I blame that on Molyneux if he would be a bit more quiet the game would have been so much greater - but instead people started complaining about missing features instead of playing a really good PC RPG.

For a Pentium-M/Core (2) Duo that is perfectly fine - normally overheating is caused by games, because GPU/CPU get too hot since both are supplied by the same fan. So GPU stressing applications cause much greater temperature. I rather doubt that it is a temperature problem. Normally clockspeed would be reduced and even without a fan - at 800MHz (downclocked by OS) you shouldn't have a problem. Problem is that Speedfan might not read the temperature correctly - at least try Everest/Notebook Hardware Control or in the Bios settings. Run prime95, 3D Mark, etc. to really stress test your notebook and see what happens. If the problem persists try a clean Windows installation and if that still doesn't fix the problem make use of your warranty and send it in with a detailed report. I once had the problem that my notebook went over 80° in games because the fan was not working correctly - that is overheating.

Star Wars on Wii: more fuel to the rumour!

Wii + Lucas Arts + (unjustified) Kiddy Image = Lego Star Wars Wiimote edition.. -
Uhm yeah ... except that the Core Duo is build from the Pentium 3 and the Pentium 4 was Intels big failure ...

There is a pretty good FAQ how to install it as a generic USB WLan hotspot - which makes the damn thing more usefull and you can save time to worry about that "rushed" piece of software Nintendo put on the installation disc. Connection quality is pretty good - never had problems with my DS, updates on the Wii and channels work like a charm and in Strikers I have 4 of 4 stars connection quality.
-
Don't bother I have the original CD still somewhere - it doesn't work under Win2k/XP/Vista and it may be a funny gift for a 15 year old but nothing more. I really wonder why it has an AO rating .... ...oh well boobs = AO and violence = M in the USA
-
Yes your PC needs to be online all the time. The WiFi connector has no real advantage - only good thing is you can use it as a generic hotspot so when your main computer is online with the connector you can play online with the Wii and others can connect via WLan to it aswell (you have to allow/block that of course depending on your network). Downside is that it is more expensive than a decent new and working router, security is pretty low and the thing gets damn hot.

Sounds really promising but my notebook won't have the power to deal with it properly I guess. Pentium-M 2GHz, 1GB Ram, GF 6800Go 256MB Ram are simply not enough - but it will take a few years until I get a new machine I guess it gets time for a second console...

Yay for Austria - we will probably get a uncensored version with english language and german subtitles. Gameshops here will be more than happy to supply german customers with the game - as usual. I really hope our government doesn't change that in the near future I am a big fan of free speech and freedom of choice. As long as certain boundaries made by law are not hurt. Nobody banned Saw from the cinemas, XXX movies are shown starting with 23:00 (22:00 for the UK) on the Adult Channel and nobody cares in general about movies. Just to clarify I pay for digital TV as a whole and the Adult Channel is somehow demoing its programm - I did not need or want it. Especially because those UK girls are really really cheap looking hehe....

Well good point but there are also games listed with "Q3/Q4 2007" - so if NoE would be sure Galaxy, Brawl, Prime hitting EU in 2007 they could put it there with Q4 2007 BUT they don't .... for whatever reason.

Crystal Cup sucks - I destroyed every AI player until the final 2 out of 3 game with xx:0 for me. Then those frickin lasers always hit my best team mates - that stage is really a bit unfair.

Rumor Control - IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat

I guess it is Tales of "..." That hardware stuff got backed up by a friend of mine - who told me about harddrives and other stuff for the Wii. -
You ruined my joke

I am happy with the GC version - the new features don't convince me to spend money again. But for everyone who missed the game should get it instantly also true RE fans/collectors should buy it I guess. Now just to annoy Teppo: I heard that the japanese version will be heavily censored ... hope that doesn't happen with the PAL game

No More Heroes - early 2008 in Europe Too bad ... would have been cool if it launched in summer 2007 like in Japan/USA here (although I doubt that a bit too).

I can't decide both have their unique advantages - currently I am more into Firefox. MS has the advantage that they integrated the IE into Windows - it uses a lot less CPU time and doesn't need as much memory. Which also reflects startup time. IE: 39MB RAM FF: 49MB RAM

NoA loses 90% of staff and three major employees.

There are next to no people in marketing who actually understand the product/stuff they are promoting. So replacement will be easy - maybe some hot young girl. Don't bother if she ever played Super Mario Bros. -

Wow they must have had really strong ties with Nintendo .... I guess I wouldn't give up such a job - at least not when I am in a key position. Well since this is USA business I don't really care - EU marketing/sales can't get any worse hehe. -
Well I just heard about battery problems and some cracks in displays - I admit every notebook manufactory can cause problems but at such a price I expect PERFECT quality That is why I am not into the iPOD - it seems they are not build to last for eternities like my cheap USB/MP3 stick which is a lot cheaper. Performance compared to Windows is still a lot less than expected - now with Intel it is going for the right way. Yeah I could run Windows but a lot of specialiced software won't work and having a MAC for internet/office jobs and Windows to work is not what I want.
-
Well since I only use notebooks for my work at university I could get a Macbook but: - less software - high price - performance - reliability (at least from what I have heard) versus stylish design, OS x.x ... That is just not enough for me to switch sides. Also I need 17" notebook and Apple only goes up to 15" or 15.4".

http://www.ash.org.uk/html/factsheets/html/fact08.html Around 11000 people die in the UK because of second hand smoking a year. This includes outdoor and indoor places. So I assume that most of the unneccessary deaths are because people stay in crowded places full of smoke and not outside. And I guess a anti smoking organisation won't use pro smoking statistics. So avoid indoor places where people smoke - I am sure your friends will respect that and go to non smoke clubs, bars whatever.
