Bad idea - because it won't stop younger people from drinking but instead of doing it in a controlled surrounding eg. a bar, pub, ... they do it alone with friends and probably not with beer but vodka, gin and harder stuff. Here the legal age is 16 - you are allowed to drink wine and beer if a certain percentage of alcohol is not reached. For real booze you need to be 18.

Ace Combat 6 for the 360 sold 35.000 on launch in Japan .... how many 360s are there in Japan again ... Well seems the Wii sales are really heavily depending on casual gamers who like Wii Sport, mini games, brain quiz stuff and don't care about graphics and stuff.

Well for THE BEST GAME on the Wii this year it is not that great. After all Japan loves the Wii and the hardware base is around 3.5 million units. So 130.000 games for 3.5 million Wiis is not what I exactly call a great start - it will to quite well but there have been a lot more games which sell faster with a smaller userbase.

That would be 3DRealms

Aspect ratio should still be the same so I guess you can interpolate vague numbers from that figure.

Most reviews are sub 7 scores (GameSpy, 1UP) and to be honest without the uber gory scenes, PS2 graphics I don't think that this game will be worth it for me. Poor port which suffered from censorship ... I guess I would have to be really desperate to find anything good about the game. A game which just lives up through controversy it creates is not enough nowadays.

And again as usual pirates can play the game a lot earlier than people who actually buy games. BTW gread job Nintendo giving them FULL GAMES (if true) so early - someone must have a lot of faith into average EB shop employees. So games already finished ... translated .... mhm thanks for letting us WAIT.

Well without online fees Nintendo gets as much money as if they would sell it without MMO characteristics but without spending money on infrastructure, bugfixing, moderators and stuff. I doubt that a AC MMO would sell a lot more than a regular AC. AC MMO = development costs + servers, dedicated development team AC = development costs only Yeah Nintendo makes more profit than ever but did you ever see them spend it on big things? 250€ Wii (could be a lot less but Nintendo doesn't want to pay a part), independent developers buyout is something Nintendo doesn't do, VC prices.... With those billions of $ and a steady increase of the company worth on the stock market I think Nintendo could afford to invest a part of their fortune. Like Sony and MS do. After all Nintendo only is so rich because we pay 250€ for a console, 10€ for a N64 game.....to get third party garbage. I really like Nintendo games but the console is overpriced compared to the competition and there are as good as no big third party games. Nintendo could change old structures of their behavior but they don't want to as long as it works.

A MMO means - Servers across the world - Moderators - Continuous bug fixing - New quests/things to do ----------------------------- Big effort vs. small amount of money (I doubt blue ocean strategy allows monthly rates a la WoW) Also it would mean that Nintendo lets everyone play with everyone without friend codes otherwise it is not a MMO. Also I am quite unsure about space on the Wii with a decent MMO. I would like to see something like this but if I look back to Nintendos way in console gaming I rather doubt it.

PS3 Price Cut... and Wii still sells more
system_error replied to Zechs Merquise's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well lets wait and see. Also 400€ is still a bit more than 249€ - what I am more curious is how much more 360 will be sold with the new Arcade pack which is pretty much in the same price range of the Wii. Right now with 360 and PS3 pricedrop I really hope Nintendo does the same because from a consumer standpoint now the Wii is overpriced when you look at what you get hardware and software wise. -
I paid 50€ for that phone (new) with a 2 year contract: 10€\month, free sms, 1000min to own network for free, 1000min to a network I choose for free, other networks 20 cent

I agree with you and that is the problem I want to point out. The list now is much shorter, when you cross out first party games or launch titles (which normally sell better than they are because game variety is limited).

As in Japan the Wii sells a lot of consoles but games are left behind. Where are the games in US/EU/JAP on the Wii which sell really well except WiiPlay (basicly controller + free game).

Try the Taskmanager to check if there are 2GB physical memory available - otherwise I always thought you must not mix RAM size and shouldn't leave a slot empty. Always 2 x 512, 2 x 1GB, ....
-
Yeah notebook = laptop ... I can't remember which is correct word in english hehe - I mostly use both So if you use Vista - do you have any software/games that you are really dependent on, because if so I would check in advance if it works. Most newer stuff just works fine but some older software has issues. I have a modem driver from 2003 which doesn't work at all.

I prefer external card readers because I have SD cards for my camera, micro-SD cards and Sony Memory sticks for my phones and it is portable. So if a friend doesn't have a certain slot I just take the card reader with me. For the notebook questions: The one from Tesco sounds nice but 1GB RAM and Intel onboard GPU don't sound too good if you will stay with Vista. I can't give you any decent links because I don't know about availability in Norway but I personally prefer Fujitsu Siemens notebooks. I had 3 so far which have been very cheap in price but come with a truckload of power compared to other brands. Also warranty is pretty good - so far I needed one repair in 4 years which was a fan that got old and stopped doing its work properly within a day my notebook got picked up and 5 days later I got it back fully repaired. For Vista I would recommend: 2GB RAM CPU seems fine as long as its Core Duo or Core 2 Duo Nvidia 7/8xxx Go GPU Depending on how much more you are willing to spend I think there are so many cool possibilities to enhance your notebook: - new WLAN draft (with 300mbit/s) - flash drives for faster booting/loading Also I would take a look on message boards and stuff to check wether that laptop you want works with Linux - even though you might not want to use it now the time might come

Virus != Adware Adware can be anything from cookies to software and most AntiVirus programms only find software problems. So you need a good combination of Anti Virus/Spam/Adware. Just be sure to only install one for each kind because otherwise you slow down your system and certain software might interfere. Best choice to minimize security threads (assuming you use Windows): - update your Windows copy regularly - use a Firewall (not needed with a good router) - don't download software you don't know or from untrusted sources (just because it says porn.exe doesn't mean you will have fun with it - be a bit paranoid - use a AntiVirus Scanner (I use AVG Free and never had any problems so far) - use a Adware Scanner (Lavasoft, Windows Defender, ...)

Ghost Squad is not the most pretty game there is but at least it has textures:

LAME. Rehash of a old game, abysmal graphic quality .... even for 9.99€ I couldn't be bothered to buy that game. If I want a fun game I just get MicroMachines or RoadRash which even look better hehe.
-
Questions so far sound pretty interesting I also would like to know if they can tell some stuff about pricing. Wether it is like a N64 game or more expensive - after all I don't get a booklet, case, medium, ... and just download it. A screenshot would be cool too and some basic info about the game. Also if the WiiWare game will be successfull are there any plans for a real Wii game. Problem is I doubt that those question will be answered - NDA for most of the interesting stuff

Just finished the first chapter - a awsome game. So many cool jokes, fluent gameplay and it is sometimes really challenging to think from 2D to 3D and vice versa. I also have to admit that 43€ is a pretty good deal for that game.

Format, reinstall Windows, use a decent AntiVirus/Firewall solution and maybe restrict a few things and et voila you have a perfectly fine computer which will run forever (unless the hardware fails). I think the last virus I had was one I downloaded on purpose ... 10 years ago

Fallout 3 Wii .... PLEASE Well it is indeed good news - lets see how the engine will look once it is finished and I also hope many developers will actually buy a licence to use it and not rely on their old SDKs.

Meh censorship sucks...

Friend of mine already has it because the store got it early (in Austria release day is normally thursday) and he said something that it is like "small kittens which make candy for you" fun Jealous +1
