  1. I dunno, maybe it was a missunderstaning or a translation error. I just post what I read.
  2. According to some portugese GAF member it is only a timed exclusive - he translated some parts of a gaming mag from Portugal where the pictures came from.
  3. Nice cover but so far I don't see what Nights 2 will come to Wii. I believe it will because it is logical consequence but if it will be a exclusive game, a PS2 port or a spin off we don't know yet. Probably an aprils fool aswell
  4. Are you sure about that? I thought it will use a modified version of the RAGE engine (Rockstar presents Tabletennis), which could be scaled down for the Wii - after all most engines can be pretty much used for everything. Need for Speed Most Wanted/Carbon can be turned into 1996 graphics
  5. I just don't like being called a "liar" by others just because there have been a few incidents in the past. Especially if they are a bunch of kids which are barely finished with high school or whatever Diemetrix: Technically it would be possible, after all the Wii has decent horsepower - and if you look at the PC versions you notice the big free roaming world but the rather mediocre graphics. The Wii success and the 360 user base make them perfect targets for a financially wounded Take Two.
  6. I guess a public forum with a history of cheaters and kids fooling around isn't the best place to expect some trust. I am not boasting around with that hole GTA4 thing, to be honest I don't even care if someone believes me or not. Everyone which read a few of my posts so far should know that I only write something if I stand behind hit. Believe it or not but at university you can meet a lot of interesting people which actually work at certain developers, publishers, etc. So if a friend of mine who never boasted about any "insider" news before tells me something I tend to believe him. I guess that is what friendship and trust are all about. Too bad that nowadays everyone needs a URL to prove their points. Yeah as if websites are the holy grail of information or even PR guys which talk like a flag in the wind.
  7. Nope, a friend of mine told me he is quite sure that there will be GTA4 for the Wii. Since he works in the industry and has been right so far I really doubt why he should lie to me.
  8. Old news. Reggie said that months ago. So far we did not hear anything from Take Two yet BUT I am quite sure that GTA4 will hit the Wii ... like I said before and my sources never lie.
  9. B O R I N G fits you in my eyes. University is a time of life where you not only study and should live alone for the first time alone. You should meet new and different people, enjoy life with all its leisures aswell. I go out on weekends (sometimes during the week aswell), sometimes I just stay at home with my girlfriend, I visit and invite friends, we talk, we play, we drink, ... It is not about drinking but about enjoying your life and I am sorry to say but one day you will probably think why can't I go back and make things different. For that you don't have to be a heavy drinker - I might drink a few beers once a week but the times where I am really drunk are long over. I would say I prefer a quiet pub with my friends more than spending a fortune on booze.
  10. Why would I need HL2 on the Wii anyway? PC version is superior in gameplay + graphics and I am sure that the Wii version would be 60€ compared to the PC version for 10-20€ (including CS, DOD, etc.). Also a port would mean a lot of work for the developers so I doubt they would add multiplayer functionality. I can't believe why there are so many people obsessed with HL2 for the Wii. To be honest I am even disappointed with the PC version. It took Valve ages to finish the game and the result is average in my eyes. It would be possible to run HL2 on the Wii but I guess graphics have to be cut back a lot. Loading times would be a issue and the physics engine (even though it is rather small) would cause the CPU to fall apart. XBOX had the advantage of being a rather PCish console - porting was a simple task.
  11. That is what I hope but interest often means that developers already worked for the Wii on a project and got a green light to finally announce it. SDK and devkits can help but you need the idea, money and a good team aswell - if development starts it takes at least 2 years for a great game in my opinion (also from my experience).
  12. Problem is from sole interest to a good game (original IP, remake, no port) it takes more than a few months ...
  13. Sure but Nintendo announced the real cool games a while back and except Zelda we did not get a AAA game from Nintendo so far. Also lets assume Zelda would have been released on the GC like scheduled - not even a single AAA game by Nintendo for launch. Don't get me wrong but so far the first party line up is below average.
  14. It is a drought - no AAA games but at least solid third party games. Mario Party 8 has been pushed back to Summer 2007 in the USA - so we won't get it any earlier than Summer 2007 too. Nice that even such games get delayed. Where are the AAA E3 games by Nintendo? Those have been shown as a video and now months later we don't have any news about Strikers, Battalion Wars, Disaster, etc. Fire Emblem released in Japan already but where are the videos/feature of the EU version, or a relase date?
  15. Does that "no online" feeling also includes playing against a friend in class via WiFi? Because I really don't use the DS WiFi a lot to play with distant people, but I surely play a lot against friends in the same room - because its fun. I need online multiplayer because otherwise I can't play much games with people beside my girlfriend. Most of my gaming friends are at a different university and the rest is not so interested in gaming. So for me online is a vital functionality in a game.
  16. I don't need a HD enabled console for my living room because I don't own a HD TV yet - it is different compared to a computer screen. BUT extra horsepower for a console is never wrong. Wether it is for more detailed geometry, antialiasing, physic effects, AI, ...
  17. What worries me is that Connect24 needs nearly the identical amount of power compared to playing Twilight Princess.
  18. Sony already copies Nintendo and MS could do the same if they wouldn't be happy with their way. I don't get your point. MS could make a controller like the Wiimote aswell including high-end technology and the price would still be fair - because MS pays the bill - like Sony does because they are confident enough that they will make the money back with accessoires, online, games. Nintendo makes a console where I pay the exact amount of money it costs including EU price bonus.
  19. Offtopic: Yeah I know that about KidIcarus but I did not know that there is already showable content available eg. a video of both games...
  20. If they really would like to announce something spectacular they just could add another day and tell the press what they would like to share. GDC is not about fans and userbase - it should be a possiblity to communicate with developers. Get ideas and make deals with game studios. Oh before I forget I am 95% sure that the Wii will get Kid Icarus and GTA4 ... (I can't tell my source but since nobody will believe me anyway, I am just going to keep that thread bookmarked and grab it out when it is time)
  21. LOL but it is basicly free ... unless you live in Europe "HD makes games more expensive" "nobody picks up a game at 60$" "we want to attrackt casual gamers with a low price" Nintendo makes enough money with VC games too ... those don't really have a fair price tag to be honest. The problem is I missed a few classic games and eventually Nintendo will release a few of them. I just can't pirate games - it is not the same.
  22. The lack of online enabled games is surely not the main reason for a console to fail but it can be one of the main reasons why people buy or don't buy a certain game. Assuming you are a third party developer . You make one game and then port it to the other console. 360 gets better graphics, probably more content (DVD size, microtransactions), online play. Wii version will be graphically inferior, with no online play but if the game suits the Wiimote a much better style of control Now as a customer which game do you buy? I doubt Pro Evolution Soccer plays that much better with a Wiimote but better graphics and online play would make me buy the 360 version. If that happens too often the developer will start shifting development more and more towards the console which sells more copies. I KNOW that lazy developers can mess up any game for any console but Nintendo can make their life a lot easier. So with online support I think you do a console more good than bad.
  23. I see your point but do you really think after all those years were the XBOX, the XBOX 360, the Playstation 2/3, PSP, NDS have online enabled games a company should neglect online functionality in their games? You know it takes time to build a comfortable, powerfull and stable online experience - MS and Sony already tested out their systems. Nintendo did not. Do you really think that Nintendo can compete with Microsofts XBOX Live in a year? Especially developers need time to understand the basics of a new system. The online SDK should have been available a year ago not reccently. Look what happend with the graphical quality of the games because the SDK was basicly a Gamecube SDK with Wiimote documents/libraries? I am aware that Nintendos online service will be free but the tradeoff is that so far it is not running (at least not for the Wii) and to be honest in my opinion you play the role of online games down a bit too much. Animal Crossing, Battalion Wars, Pokemon, Brawl, ... sure great singleplayer games but their true strength lays in online play.
  24. That stock trade is the best thing which could happen to Nintendo. They gain money from the trade and they don't have to disappoint fans with release dates pushed back. No online games, Galaxy/Metroid in 2008, more third party shovelware...
  25. So Nintendos strategy to gain more market share is to deliever online capabilities as late as possible? I mean to be honest whats in that SDK now? 2 examples of code used for a chat? A library to make it easier to connect to servers? That is a cruel joke. Such things should be in the package from the start an be improved in a regular interval. Maybe that is why the games are the same when it comes to graphical/online quality ... Nintendo did not update their SDK.
