  1. Backup your apps + their data using my backup pro or Titanium backup. Use it to back up your apps+ their data (saved progress etc won't be lost) backup your settings and then back up your rom before you flash a new one. Just installed MIUI on my desire, nice clean rom will take me a while to get used to it but I like it so far.
  2. Stocks are down. Market share is down. US mind share is down Things are on the up in Asia, BB is still down with the kids in Europe.
  3. I think I've miss quoted a few things. It seems that you can flash some roms without s-off but roms where you may need to modify the system partitions (internal memory for the android system) things start to go down hill. Personally I would just s-off it's not a big deal and the changes it makes can easily be fixed.
  4. Do you mean this one? Because you can change it back. In fact you can change it to whatever you want. You can have root without s-off but you can't really do much with it. For example you couldn't put a different ROM on there.
  5. Don't be afraid just follow this guide and everything will be happy. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1016084 Just want to add if your decide to partition your SD card you might want to back it up for good measure.
  6. Well the original desire is reaching EOL so stores will probably look to move that stock as free handsets. The Desire S might see a fall in price band so instead of free on a £35 a month or £30 a month you might see it on a £25. In regards to gingerbread despite HTC now looking to bring gingerbread to it the second hurdle to get over is the carriers. Unfortunately now that the desire is EOL some carriers might not be bothered to bring it over. You can still root and flash a gingerbread Rom on there instead if it comes to that. Glad to see someone appreciates my app recommendation. Also anyone who can't decide on their next phone GSM Arena have done another well put together review, pitting the Sensation vs. Galaxy SII and the Optimus X2: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_sensation_vs_galaxy_sii_vs_optimus_2x-review-608.php
  7. I've actually not had any problems myself. Due to licensing some of the more well know films aren't yet available. But for USA citizens / Anyone who can set a proxy there's films like bad boys, Ghostbusters, 88 Minutes, Revolver list goes on. As for the poor reviews, as with things like youtube and Iplayer the performance is greatly dependent on your connection. As I've said no problems here but I'm just nostalgic for samurai x.
  8. Also everyone download Crackle from the market. It will be one of the best things you've ever done. https://market.android.com/details?id=com.gotv.crackle.handset
  9. Is there anyway to modify your user agent string? Many website poll this to decide whether to go to mobile site or not. It could be lazy coding that they have just said if IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome go to full site, anything else go mobile. See if this tutorial helps: http://download.chip.eu/en/how_to/How-to-Change-User-Agent-in-Opera_12220327.html

Lulzsec is claiming not to be behind the Sega hacking:

Just got an email from sega saying they have been hacked. Perhaps this answers why my junk mail has gone from 50 a day to 100 an hour. Can't even remember signing up for anything sega so don't even know if I just used a throw away password. Fortunately sega claims they were encrypted but junk mail sucks big time.
  12. One particular episode I remember was when a girl got attacked by bees /wasps and they were covering her whole body. I've said it once and I'll say it a thousand time. They just don't make TV as good as they used to.
  13. Never been scammed myself however I often get emails with people offering to give me massive amount of money. I also occasionally win millions in lotteries I've never entered. Here's a good site for a laugh though: http://www.419eater.com/ We've had the PC ones twice. Unfortunately I haven't been home to mess around with them.
  14. It seems that HTC will be removing some services to get gingerbread on the desire. Perhaps we'll be losing friend stream and maybe peep. The default apps function better and currently HTC's implementation is broken for twitter.
  15. Serious question? Provided it is a serious question gingerbread is the latest version of the Android OS. Next up is ice cream sandwich. Probably after that Jello rather than Jelly.
  16. Well I've only experienced slow down in F-zero GX once and it was purely by chance. I happened to be going over a jump along with 3 other racers and we all boosted at the same time giving about a second and a half of slow down. Otherwise it is probably one of the most impressive racing games I've ever played. Unfortunately it doesn't seem that there is room for a game like this in Nintendo's blue ocean but hopefully wii U will change that. Imaging using the touch controller to properly customise your own machine. Maybe even restructuring parts so they don't look like individual lego pieces. Also GX has a kickass sound track. Importing the OST for £25 all those years ago was seriously worth it.
  17. As a big HTC fan I'd say GS2. The Galaxy has better internals. The sensation really only has a better housing and resolution screen. Don't know if I should be happy or annoyed: Somehow the desire magically gets enough ROM to support it.
  18. Well I guess it's time to root and flash my desire. Thinking of putting this rom on there:

I loved the first series. Personally I found the first episode rather boring. But the last 10 minutes left me waiting for the next episode. Especially with the killer's current location.
  20. Bad news HTC desire (not hd) owners. We won't be eating any gingerbread for the foreseeable future.

Kinda agree with Mcoy here. However I also think now there isn't much point in choosing a secure password when billy drop tables can just come along and steal all the data anyway.
  22. Thought someone might find this useful down the line so here it is:
  23. Nicely done. Glad everything seemed to work out for the best in the end.
  24. (Is still using Vista, and prefers it to XP. Does have Win 7 on the beast of a machine that sits on the stairwell)
  25. Dude way better than me. I couldn't even get past the guy that beat up my dad (ahem end of level 2 *cough cough.*) Yeah so so much for family honour and all that. So I don't know if dad makes it or if I ever see that woman who stole the dragon statue again. When I tried to play it again today I died in less than ten seconds repeatedly and so decided to start from the beginning, re-learn the controls and go back to my old save file.
