Png or gif. Gif limited to 256 colours. Otherwise use png 32 format.

I was going to vote for him in every single NE award, but I didn't think anyone would know who he was. Class chap. Happy birthday.

try clearing cache and cookies. I'd say a system restore is a bit OTT.

I know for a fact Morrisons have a pick and mix. I was thinking the lego advent calendar would kick with chocolate, lego pieces inside. But then I realised you would always eat the chocolate and never make the lego men.

From where, I need another copy. Wasn't that microsoft experience sales training deal was it?

Not entirely. Flash v. 10 has considerably cut down on the cpu load, and thus has meant that flash is now available for a wider range of devices, and is at the forefront of the open screen project initiative. By adding GPU acceleration it allows some of the strain to be taken away from the processor. With small devices implementing chips such as ION and tegra as their graphics solution a low power machine wouldn't be an issue. But additionally in lieu of flash most of google's services make use of technologies such as ajax /javascript and json. But I agree its nice to watch the odd video without it running like chitty chitty bang bang. Secondly, flash isn't native to the chrome browser either.

Or rather it will run on your girlfriend's notebook if you create the drivers for it. But to be fair you could also run it in a VM.

Chrome OS demo:

Sigh this has been coming out forever, and I've wanted it forever. Would have been nice if they kept the pc version in production. But maybe because of that original plan its taken so long. One more cherry on the cake that is getting me to buy a 360 this Christmas.

Reminds me of when I stuffed the Sunday chicken. I like the vibrant colours though.

Yeah pretty much works how the whole thing with apple is. Control the hardware so you don't have to sort out drivers for different processors and graphics cards etc. Although I don't think it will be a mega cheap netbook. I remember Asus with the eepc was aiming for that $100 sweet spot. The one laptop per child couldn't do it. Elonex tried it but couldn't quite deliver. But I'm expecting the same sort of hardware combination that was inside the one. But back to my point about the eepc. It came with Linux. In fact a lot of netbooks came with linux but never were really able to break the sub £100 barrier. So keeping that in mind the closest a company that ever came to a sub £100 netbook threw this together. LNX Code 8 Mobile 300 MHz Processor Dedicated Linux Memory 128 MB DDR-II SD RAM On-board 1 GB Flash Memory, optimised for Linux Removable 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB wristvault Maybe source a faster processor and a bit more ram with some more on board storage, but to just run the chrome browser you don't need very much.

I agree wifi is more readily available. But in most places at a cost. If I have to work while away from home I don't want to cut my productivity because I can't get on the internet. I went to a travel lodge on a business trip last month. It cost me £5 for an hour's worth of internet time. I know google is all about the web because the second you aren't on it google isn't making any revenue. But what I see here is a system that just boots into the chrome browser. Nothing more nothing less. But I'm still going to see how it pans out. I was all for dropping this in a VM, but I think I've seen all chrome OS has to offer at this very point in time. I'd like to see what functionality there is for when you aren't connected, because to be honest, its not always easy to stay connected. And for some people being connected at all is hit and miss or 1999. (56k)

Pretty crap concept if you ask me. Because the way they are touting this is an operating system that is just a browser. Great, why not just stick with what you have already. And if I don't have a internet connection I'm pretty much screwed. To tell the truth I only saw the second video, but I would expect any other kind of rationality from Google.

Made me chuckle:

This is not a penis. (fairly ridiculous and NSFW)

Reminds me of the get me to the other side thread from way back when. Fallen into the depths of time and space now. I'm up for this. I've got a day off tomorrow so might give it a shot. -
Roughly from off the top of my head. A wireless router, so that it can be accessed wirelessly. The network HD connected to one of the routers ports. And power for the both of them. I've found a slightly cheaper solution for you also. Get this from big pockets for £16.99 Which is a network hard drive enclosure. Then you can buy an IDE hard drive of your choice (size wise) and put it inside. Could potentially lower the cost to under £50 for it.

Perhaps but in the time it takes to contact you, and go through all the motions, I would have my network key in the wii and connected long before the whole thing is started. If I remember correctly all that sort of stuff is set up during first boot anyway.
-
Pretty much what everyone has been saying. Basically a hard drive with a network port that plugs into your router and can be access over the network via the router. Works the same way as networked printers etc. Here is the relevant Ebuyer link: http://www.ebuyer.com/search?q=network+hard+drive&x=76&y=17

I'm pretty sure anyone with an ounce of sense will probably be better off doing it themselves.

I've just been streaming episodes from my good old and faithful. I think episode 8 was a bit meh really. Has a nice twist at the end, but I saw it coming to tell the truth.

Its not a big deal anyway. I think you end up downloading the same file anyway. I would also not install any of the included tool bars with this installation. Don't hate on comodo for doing it though. AVG does it too.

I played the demo really liked it. But I'm going to sit on this for awhile since I've still got to get through: Crysis Warhead, Bioshock, Obilivion 4 and Mass effect. Still I haven't played the first one like with COD MW. So I might end up in a step backwards complex if I try to play L4D after.

Well I don't know how Comodo compares to Avira, but for me I moved from using an AVG and zonealarms combination that I have relied upon for the past 10 years or so I using Comodo as my all in one solution. Comodo AV is a 3 in one package consisting of antivirus, firewall and active defence shield. And I've used it as my security solution for my previous vista and my current windows 7 install. Mainly because its on a family PC and after the initial learning process it looks after itself. I currently use AVG on my laptop but that is only until my license expires. After that I will switch to comodo, or use vipre if I feel like paying for something. But Comodo has a strong community, and the only nagging will come from the firewall element which asks for your permission to all certain programs to connect. And based on what I just said I should have directed you all to this page instead: http://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php CIS Includes: * Firewall: Slam the door shut on hackers and identity thieves. * Antivirus: Track down and destroy any existing malware hiding in a PC. * Defense+: Protects critical system files and blocks malware before it installs. * Memory Firewall: Cutting-edge protection against sophisticated buffer overflow attacks. * Anti-Malware Kills malicious processes before they can do harm. Was at work when I posted and it was a slow day. Brain could not compute the difference.

Ok I've got you. It doesn't really matter, you can end it with task manager because Malwarebytes should still pick it up. Having said that if there are any other associated files you may not know of. They will still be lingering around. Also you may want to kick AVG to the kerb and use a more complete solution such as Comodo

But even if you just kill the process it won't remove the offending file from your computer, so you will continue to have this issue each time you restart your computer.
