Yeah, to me this was a low-point in an otherwise great conference.. I'm not interested in the slightest. I either already own the game, or I wasn't interested in the first place. With a few exceptions.. I don't own Pikmin 2 for example. But even those, I'd rather hunt down the original versions, while I still can. That's not to say I don't think added Wii controls etc. won't be improvements, but not enough for me to really bother, I'll stick with the original versions. Like I have with Zelda Twilight Princess and Resident Evil 4.

IGN also mentiones the DSi uses a different AC adapter, good to know in advance.
-
I do! Ok good. Well, about the game in general, you draw the same conclusion as IGN.. Not great, simply good. You mention several things the IGN review mentions, only you dislike Nina's voice, where they'd though it's one of the better voices in the game.. As for the Wii specific things, good to know there are no (real) disadvantages. So I'll keep this game in mind. After Blob, Wario and Mega Man, there aren't many Wii titles left untill next year that I'm really looking forward too, so I'll probably pick this up in the coming months.
-
Hmm, the article on the frontpage now mentions DSi specific games (card-based games mind) will also be regionlocked from now on.. That's not good, that's bad. Allthough I never imported much myself, I was happy to have the option.. Now my import pre-order is 100% justified, the ability to easily import Japanese games far outweighs the disadvantages for me. But it also means a required EU device for the EU games..

Didn't seem to have its own thread yet, so there you have it. I've seen it in stores, and I recognized the name, as I've read an IGN review of the PC version some time ago, as I have an interest in point & click adventures. The IGN review was pretty favourable, and I've though of picking this up, but with a lot of other games to play and buy, I think I'll wait for a while. In the meantime, I'd like to hear people's experiences with this particular version (if there are any ), or otherwise with the PC version. I know there are other P&C adventure fans, so anyone else thinking of picking this one up?

Hi, Is there an option for when you use the ignore option, there won't be anything revealed at all? So there's not even a post with the notion that the post won't show up because you're ignoring that person. It's like only half-ignoring right now..
-
Too bad I only thought of this after I pre-ordered :P. Oh well, as long as I'm able to get the service of one region. I hope you'll be able to set your DSi to Europe though, so I can get the European service, but as the Wii & Nintendo shop don't work that way, I doubt the DSi will. Again, as long as I'm able to get the Japanese service, I don't mind.

I am positive I read somewhere Deadly Creatures would be out before the end of the year, where did that go? Or am I wrong?

Virtual Console - All you need to know
Sméagol replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Ha, thanks for the reply, though I didn't wait for it, I've already downloaded it . Groovy! I wonder how it compares to its SNES counterpart though? And did it get released on Megadrive first? I wonder what their policy is on multiplatform (as in both SNES & Megadrive) games. -
Yeah, but that's my point, they might do the same with this game. I'll be happy to participate in these gamesales evaluations .

Virtual Console - All you need to know
Sméagol replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Damn.. I want Earthworm Jim.. I mean, I want it on cartridge eventually, but this is one of those games I'd actually want to play now, so I'd like to download it.. But I have to be careful until Spring. I want to have enough space for savefiles until I can use my SD cards, and I don't want to delete any more stuff (got rid of Lost Winds with pain in my heart). How many blocks is it? I'll think I'll make the last exception untill Spring, if needed, I'll delete the Nintendo channel. -
I hope it doesn't, I was looking forward to this (though there are so many things to look forward to since the conference ). Anyway, NoE may be different.. I mean, we're getting Disaster aren't we?

One thing though, look at that screencap of the DS trailer on [this IGN page]; do we know what that white / grey thingy that person's pointing as the DS is? Doesn't look like a gamecard.

Nintendo Holding a Conference- October 2nd
Sméagol replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Well.. I'm excited. And I put the money where my mouth is, and pre-ordered the damn thing (as already concisely posted in the DSi thread). Guess it won't be my main MP3 player though :P. But damn, those games.. -
Pre-ordered.

Nintendo Holding a Conference- October 2nd
Sméagol replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Hmm, can't wait for tomorrow. If the rumours about the DS turn out to be true, I'll import on launch for a change.. I'll make it my main MP3 player probably. And for other possible games and announcements.. Well, lets see first, then I'll get excited (or not). -
Allthough I can understand some of the complaints, I can appreciate the effort, and I'm really looking foward to it. It may be a generic sci-fi FPS with some rough edges, but it's one with Wii FPS controls, and well, it's actually the only one since Metroid (if you catagorize Metroid simply as a sci-fi FPS, if not, it's actually the only one..). From watching the videos, I only see something I want to play, and I doubt I'll change my mind on this one, unless of course they do something weird like putting Teletubbies in it, or some of those other freaks you see on the BBC in the morning.. Hmm, weird thought.

I'm not familiar with the Monster Hunter games, but the concept surely sounds cool.. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

My excitement for this game has gone up and down and up again. After reading the IGN hands-on and seeing some brief gameplay footage, I'm excited yet again in this game, and I'll probably buy it, despite the on-rails shooter sections (not really a fan of those, though can't say I really dislike them either). But the sound of moving around a city which is breaking down, complete with crumbling skycrapers, does appeal to me.. I don't know, I just love apocalyptic themes like that. Movies like Cloverfield for example, where the city gest destroyed.. I think this game will have a great atmosphere.

So yeah, it'll be weird seeing the old ToS gang again when you know THEY'LL END UP DEAD in the next game.. (kidding :P (or am I??)). Anyway, great news! Allthough can't find it on the site, but then again, I don't read Japanese. All I can find is news on the DVD & Blu-ray box (bluray is great news as well!). For now I assume it's true, in which case I'm looking forward to it! Any hint as to when expect the first (or well, fifth) volume?

Got this friday together with Wario Land. Allthough Wario Land is a 2D animated piece of art, I find this game actually generally more entertaining.. Then again, I haven't played much of either game, as something came up (namely MEGAMAN 9). But yeah, the artstyle is great, cutscenes funny, gameplay relaxing, and the music.. Damn the music. Bloody fantastic, especially at the beginning of a level where you are making the music yourself with the sounds you get when you paint stuff. This game satisfies a need for platform action in a same way that a Banjo Threeie would have, at least for me.

You should really replace that word with "really". So there, I stopped it. Seriously though, I enjoyed Red Steel as well, despite some flaws. But you just know this is gonna be so much better.

Hmm, I came across it in stores, and I'd swear I saw a 'IV' on the box. Perhaps just the UK?

You didn't read his reply well enough.. Do as he said: just press "home" then "reset". It will take you to the title-screen without leaving your game and whenever you want to. Not as quick on the Cube, but not much longer to be annoying.. In fact, I prefer it this way.

are you sure you want to delete the file?
Sméagol replied to Portlett's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I've lent Super Mario 64 to a friend. As a fellow gamer, I expected him to leave the A file alone, and well, he sweared he did, but it must have been a friend who also played the game. The file had all the stars, but all the hi-scores, well, weren't exactly high. Too bad I never bothered to finish Super Mario 64 a second time (I've tried though). That's the only incident fortunately.
