Well, first week of work nearly over. Overall, it's great. People are friendly, easy to get along with and i'm having a great time overall. After yesterdays slight "hiccup", which i explained in the "bad stuff thread", everything has been sorted out (except the 8am Saturday starts, still to be sorted a little). Which is all good now, and i can have the weekend to myself without worrying about anything. Oh, and i also joined the Union as well. Get 6 months free membership, and they listened to my issue with Saturday 8am starting, with me being 15 minutes late. They said as i informed the staff i'd be late every Saturday shift i work, and they know i am limited to public transport and still took me on. They said if i am sacked, it would be unfair dismissal.

I wish the BBC would pay for this to return, it was a classic show to watch. Some of the calls are terrifying to watch, especially them two.

You'll be surprised how many people attempt to get personal information when calling up the office. Probably why we are trained to spot them when they call. I've had calls and emails trying to get my personal information, even had "debt collectors" calling to try and get me to hand over card details to pay a "debt" off which i didn't have. Emails offering jobs which don't exist, and people trying to get me to hand over account information for my PC to "repair" it.

Yeah, Tingle in WW and MM. Over-pricy twit indeed. There is something about Majoras Mask which makes the game awesome, probably the dark story and the character profiles.

My team leader finally picked up the message about my holiday from the HR department. After all the comotion from last night, it was confirmed i can have the holiday. I was asked if the trip was refundable, of which i said no. Which also means my first Saturday shift isn't until the 30th July, which is even nicer.

Cheers for the advice peeps, going to see what the situation is today. Don't see why they can't move half hour from 1 day to another, and as the recruitment and hr agreed my holidays are fine i should be ok with that

It does make me wonder why people drive in London, when they have a good public service transport system. Yes, it can be packed but at least you get there on time for a reasonable cost.

I think there is a problem. I have already raised this issue twice to two different departments, including my team leader. Before i was offered my job, they asked if i have holidays booked. I said i do, in July (over the 15th weekend). They confirmed that i can have this holiday, as i booked before i was offered work. Confirmed again on the Monday, so all good. Now they are saying, i can't have the holiday as i may be working that weekend. Even though they got proof i booked up, my team leader says no. HR and Recruitment say yes, no problems. Shift patterns. I have no issues with the shifts, except the Saturday. No matter what train i get, i will be late no matter what. I informed them of this, they said they can be flexible and i can work it back on a later day. Not a problem, i can tag that on the Wednesday so i have less time waiting for my train home that day. Now the team leader says no flexible hours, shifts are shifts and if i am late too often, i will get disciplined and possibly sacked. All because of my travelling, which i can't help. How hard is it to be able to move just 30 minutes from one day to another, would save a lot of inconvienience.

Yeah, i wouldn't mind if they left something behind to show that security is lacking in the companies. But stealing data isn't cool, i frown upon that. It is annoying a lot of people, especially the minecraft peeps. Doesn't annoy me at the moment though. I just wish they'd go after 4chan, destroy them and take them out of the picture. Then i'd laugh.

Slight bump Checked with work today about what shifts i am working. Apparantly, i'm working the 9th and 23rd weekends. Which leaves, the 16th available. Now then, i also mentioned that i am heading out on the Friday, so they are seeing if i can either have 1/2 the day off, or the whole day.

I, like many others were kind of hoping that Luigi's Mansion 2 would be on the Wii (or WiiU). But i guess the 3DS will do. And, thinking about it more it works. Depth 3D in each room, that would look excellent.

True, it would be annoying though re-installing everything again. One of the reasons why i dislike using a PC store, the other reason is because they sold me security software, and a month later my PC was in a completly unfit state. Less problems + Vista, something that is close to impossible in my opinion.
