  1. Finished Resident Evil 7 and the extra DLC mission where you play as Chris (who looks really weird now ). I remember being a bit unsure of the direction Capcom took with this game back when it was first revealed, but having finally played through it I see they definitely made a good choice. It has very much reinvigorated the RE franchise and undoubtedly brought the element of horror back in a big way. In fact I’d say this is by far the scariest entry in the entire series! Keep in mind that I’ve not played RE 6, but I hear that game is scary for different reasons. Anyway, once I got over the initial shock of just how intense the game is, I must say I really enjoyed it, the first half in particular was just superb. It lost its impact slightly towards the later stages, and the finale was also a little bit underwhelming, but overall RE 7 was an absolutely fantastic experience. Can’t even begin to imagine playing it in VR though, it’d almost certainly give me a heart attack!
  2. ... Hmm... Yeah, I’ll probably keep it a while longer just because there’s still quite a lot of stuff that I haven’t got around to playing yet, plus I’m hooked on Sea of Thieves. But doubling the price (despite still being a good deal) will definitely make me consider my subscription more carefully going forward.
  3. This looks great, and more BotW style Zelda goodness is very welcome by me. Just a shame about that release date though.
  4. What games are people playing on their Switch at the moment? Not really focused on anything specific on Switch at the moment, just checking in on my AC island, some Mario Maker and the odd multiplayer game now and then. What's the next game release you're looking forward to? BotW 2. I suppose the new Hyrule Warriors as well, but its release date clashes with other games I’m interested in, so it will have to wait. How many people are actually picking up Super Mario 3D All-Stars on day one? No intention of getting it. I own all of those games already and if I wanted to replay them would do so on the original systems. Had Nintendo actually remastered the games I may have been tempted, but as it stands, nope. Which game are you looking forward to playing first? It probably would’ve been Mario 64.
  5. Nice theme. @Sméagol & @Dcubed, are we ok to also use the modified versions of those enemies, i.e, Dry Bones Shell and Unchained Chomp?
  6. I do use it for stuff like that, but for regular jumping/recovery I just can’t get my head around anything but tap jump. Was that always there, or did they patch it in? Anyway, don’t think I have seen those before so will check it out, cheers.
  7. Put a couple of hours into Resi 7. Holy shit! I was not prepared for that. Absolutely brutal. Loving the return to traditional RE horror vibes though, it's impressive how well it all works from a first-person perspective too.
  8. It won't, for me at least. Yeah, I know... Tap jump is bad, but I've been playing Smash Bros. like that since the N64, the button jumping method is just impossible for me at this point.
  9. Good games @Glen-i & @BowserBasher, some real close ones in there too! Glen-i, those (up tilt?) seemingly infinite combos you often do, how the hell is one supposed to counter them? Or is it just a case of don’t get stuck in one in the first place?
  10. Yep, same here. It’s a fantastic game but I have no desire to replay it, and if I did I would just do so on Wii U. Bowser’s Fury will have to have A LOT of content (and be available from the start) to even get me thinking about picking this up.
  11. So just watched the trailer again and it looks like the course creation is as simple as placing those 4 gates and then driving around (and through each gate) with paint on the tyres to draw the track. It should be possible to recreate SNES and GBA tracks then. I imagine some people will even construct mini real-life replicas of existing MK tracks for this.
  12. Yeah, I’m hoping they eventually decide against that. I mean the game will have a limited run anyway (just like every online based digital only title) but at least keep it running for the entire lifespan of the Switch online services.
  13. That was really great. Even though some of the content was already known/rumoured, I don’t think anyone saw Mario Bros. 35 and Mario Kart Live coming. They were both a surprise to me, anyway.
  14. Amazing!
  15. Hahaha! Oh man, that looks like so much fun! What a fantastic idea. Any info on price? Don’t really have the space to properly set something like that up (also, how will those things drive on carpet? ) but even so I really, really want it.
  16. Blue rose GET!: Only took me 167 days...
  17. Resident Evil 7 tomorrow?! Sweet! Never did get around to picking it up, so that’ll definitely be getting played.
  18. As someone that very rarely replays games anymore, these kind of subscription services are becoming increasingly appealing. I think one of the best things about them is how you can get introduced to new types of games that you wouldn’t normally play. I’ve not been subscribed to Game Pass for very long, but so far I’ve been incredibly impressed with both the quantity and quality of titles available on it. The only problem is deciding what to play when there is so much choice! How often do new games get added? Not that I need anything else to play right now but just to have a better understanding of how it all works. I wasn’t even aware that Microsoft’s own titles are permanently available before today.
  19. Oh nice! Cheers for the info. It seems like the kind of thing that could be a bit hit or miss, yeah. Sometimes I can play an entire session without encountering anyone else, and other times there are ships and pirates all over the place! I suppose the worst thing about it is if you’re just trying to focus on one of the Tall Tales while there are other players trying to kill you at the same time! Although saying that, the potential threat does also keep you on your toes and makes the game more exciting.
  20. So I’m still enjoying the daily bit of Animal Crossing, but with those sessions getting shorter and shorter, and with there being nothing new to play on Switch (and seemingly nothing new on the horizon there either ) I’ve since turned my attention back to PC gaming in a big way, and it has been an absolute blast! Here’s what I’ve played/am currently playing on PC: Death Stranding - complete The Touryst - complete 100% The Messenger - complete New Super Lucky’s Tale Forza Horizon 4 - complete Microsoft Flight Simulator Halo: The Master Chief Collection Sea of Thieves Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night Sunset Overdrive Streets of Rage 4 - complete At the moment though it’s all about Sea of Thieves. This game is incredible! I obviously hadn’t played a new game by Rare in a long time (probably Star Fox Adventures on the GameCube ), went into this one completely blind and have been absolutely blown away! Rare always had a real talent for producing high quality visuals back in the day (often at the severe expense of performance ) but what they’ve achieved with this title is simply remarkable. It looks so good, I don’t remember the last time a game had me in such a constant sense of awe. It’s not just the graphics either, the music and the overall presentation, all of it has that unmistakable Rare vibe that I’ve really missed over the last 18 years. Gameplay is fantastic too, exploring, solving puzzles, finding treasures, sailing the seas (feels like Wind Waker on steroids! ) fighting skeletons and encountering other pirates, it’s so much fun! It’s clearly designed around multiplayer but I’ve found playing solo to be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience, there’s a similar sense of satisfaction to that of playing Monster Hunter solo, and occasionally getting ambushed by a full crew of rival pirates is both exhilarating and hilarious. I also have to tip my hat to the guys that programmed the being drunk mechanics/effects, top-notch! Anyone know how long games typically last on Game Pass before being removed? Hopefully I’ll be able to finish all of the story quests before this one leaves, anyway.
  21. Yakuza 4 was actually my introduction to the series (back when I had PS+) and yeah, it very quickly became one of my faves too. Akiyama is such a great character and Hana is absolutely adorable! Anyway it’s great to see you’ve been enjoying the games, Julius. Probably a wise move not to jump right into Yakuza 5 though, as it is indeed a very big game (double the length of 4 is about right) so taking a break beforehand should make it all the more enjoyable.
  22. Just what has already been recommended really, which is to do as much research as possible. And get some advice from the experts on here too of course. Also, while buying a pre-built system will get you out of having to mess around with the hardware side of things, don’t assume it’ll be plain sailing from there. As I’ve rediscovered recently, PC gaming can be a right faff to get setup and running correctly on the software side too, so expect to have to do some tinkering now and then. But yeah, I have no regrets with going the pre-built route so far, and have been enjoying loads of games this month thanks to Game Pass! @will', definitely check out Game Pass once you get a PC, it is insane!
  23. Is my custom Cuphead stage just completely unplayable online now, or is someone using WiFi?
