  1. Anyone else randomly get a team downloaded to their game? I saw the blue SpotPass icon on mine last night, it had downloaded Spain! :awesome: Playing them in a friendly unlocks a special combo at the end of the match, and gives you x3 of each of the cards required for it. So it's basically like the DLC teams, but free. Nice surprise.
  2. Not quite, as only player posts are allowed at the moment. But yeah, sounds like a plan once the community is open to all. Let's just hope Nintendo won't delete the posts. Anyway, on screen user names are back during online races, which is awesome. :awesome: Now I'm wondering if Nintendo have sorted my other issue with the online in MK, which is forcing you to sit through an ongoing race (sometimes the entire 3 laps ) before you can join a game. @Daft or @Ashley, have you been able to play online yet? If so, how's the matchmaking system? Assuming you're at liberty to divulge such info of course.
  3. The Miiverse Community is up and running.
  4. It's possible to create 2 private tournaments at a time, yeah. You can choose the start date/duration (14 days is the max) it can be played as Stroke Play, Speed Golf or Point Play, you can select the course, number of holes (18/9/6/3) which characters can or can't be used, toggle items, wind strength, Tee positions, etc...There are a lot of options. There are many official tournaments to take part in too. These offer a prize (some new gear to customise your Mii) just for taking part, and it looks like the overall winner at the end of the tournament will receive a huge coin prize! You can choose to upload your score and ghost data at the end of each tournament Then there's online Vs against friends, up to 4 players depending on which play mode you select. And custom communities for playing against randoms worldwide! It's one of the most impressive online setups I've ever seen in a Nintendo game. :awesome: I've created a private tournament, here's the code: 19-6623-6029-1709 Front 9 holes of the Forest Course, Miis only, coins on! Ends at 8pm on Monday! : peace:
  5. Yeah, the roster could've done with less clone types. But look on the bright side, Fused... it's Waluigi Time again!! Also, I reckon additional characters are gonna appear at some point, either via DLC or NFC figures.
  6. It was just lacking content really. The online play was very limited too. I still enjoyed Mario Tennis and played it loads, but it definitely needed more development time I reckon. Golf on the other hand feels much more polished, is packed with stuff to do and has brilliant online.
  7. This game is rad! Been so impressed that I've gone for the triple pack DLC. I just know I'm gonna play this a lot. The online aspect is superb, there are so many options/tournaments. Great how you can see other players shots bouncing around in real-time too, standard thing in online golf games for a while now I know, but new to Mario Golf. Yeah, this is miles better than Mario Tennis Open.
  8. In MK Wii I think it just slid off the screen, does the same in 7 but also fades out as well. That's weird about the map being GamePad only. I know it's the last thing you'll want to be doing at the moment, but did you check the manual?
  9. Really enjoying this so far. Despite no full-on RPG mode, wandering around the golf club as your Mii and chatting to the various characters is still pretty cool. Brings back memories of the earlier games.
  10. Phenomenal. :awesome:I can't listen to this soundtrack without continuous shivers up and down my spine, it's just amazing. The fusion of electronic and classical is so so good, and I'm actually in love with that distorted synth on the Electrodrome track. Biggest disappointment is how they've handled SNES Donut Plains. Nowhere near enough percussion and removing the Samba whistle is absolute sacrilege! The Hammond organ on it is great, but it could have been so much better. Even that can't stop this soundtrack from being incredible though. Then there's the title theme... Audio Which is just ridiculously good. That Jazz-Funk rendition of the Super Mario Kart theme @1:03 is perfection.:love:
  11. Intended to post this earlier but got my quarters muddled up Anyway... Summary of Q1: Wii U = 4 3DS = 9 Wii U eShop = 7 3DS eShop = 14 Wii U VC = 12 3DS VC = 8 Total = 54 Just 4 Wii U retail games is pretty awful, especially when only 1 of them is significant. Q2 is obviously going to be a big improvement though, the situation has been so bad it can only get better.
  12. That was incredible.
  13. days to go...
  14. Reggie's robot acting is actually pretty good. He didn't have to change much. Anyway, I'm not really fussed about Nintendo continuing this sort of approach to E3. As long as I get to watch the announcements/trailers, it's all good.
  15. Indeed. Whenever I see people playing MK like that now, I'm always reminded of this: It never fails to amuse me.
  16. Looks about right to me. We're obviously not seeing it at 60fps either (far from it with that vid ) but yeah, don't be expecting MK8 to be any slower/faster than previous games in the series. It's unlikely that's the final build of the game. We're probably not going to be seeing any of that kind of stuff until just before the game gets released, or if Nintendo do a MK8 Direct.
  17. VS gameplay starting at 21:30 on this vid: The lighting in MK8 is just astonishing. Game looks incredible even on a crappy 360p quality YT vid.
  18. Awesome stuff. I wanted to have a go at doing that myself, but gave up as it was bloody difficult. BTW, spoiler warning for those that were avoiding the latest trailer, it's playing throughout that vid.
  19. She's gotta be shooting to the left for bum emphasis.
  20. Not sure as I haven't played for a while now. Was doing great on my last few matches though. Well, that must be because someone has already taken them, because I did put a couple of players up when I got R. Lampkin. It doesn't actually let you into the friend market without offering one of your own players first, remember?
  21. Of course you are.
  22. Nintendo's advertising efforts have indeed been pretty damn terrible recently, but I'd be seriously disappointed if they screwed up with MK8. I mean, it pretty much advertises itself! :awesome: All they have to do is stick some gameplay footage on TV and it's job done. I just hope they don't do something like this again: As much as I personally enjoy watching Harry Redknapp not having a clue at even pretending to play a game, it does not make for good advertising.
  23. Anyone else get a message from ShopTo about choosing the T-Shirt size? I'd rather decline the T-Shirt altogether, as I'm thinking it could potentially delay receiving the game.
  24. Only skimmed through it, but I very much agree with the part at the end of the vid, about how Japanese devs should continue to focus on what they do best, rather than try to create games specifically for the western market without proper understanding of the culture. Well made games targeted at the Japanese will indeed find an audience outside of Japan, so there's no need to change.
  25. Those aren't trees... That's a tree.
