  1. So.... Scram Kitty this week. Who's gettin' it? I very much like the look (and sound :awesome:) of this one, but not sure if I'll be getting it right away. Still really into Pocket Football Club and Mario Golf at the moment, and now that my backlog is under control I don't want to get back to that bad habit of buying new games before fully finishing my latest purchases.
  2. Have you managed to play any worldwide races? (I'm guessing not, seeing as only a handful of peeps currently have the game) Still curious about the matchmaking though. I really hope they've got rid of the need to watch an ongoing race before joining a game. Anyway, looking forward to your review! : peace:
  3. Yeah, it's pretty weird how the game is split up like that.I suppose the castle club is the main "campaign" of the game, but there's actually more content in the Quick round Mario Golf section, due to all of the single player challenges (which unlock characters and additional courses in the Castle Club funnily enough) and the online tournaments. But then there are online tournaments which can only be accessed from the lower floor of the Castle Club too. Anyway, at least the game is packed with stuff to do no matter which mode you choose.
  4. The results for the first set of official tournaments are up. :awesome: Was surprised to get this many coins for 986th place!: That's only 7,080 less coins than the prize for the overall winner. The amount of coins you get from tourneys + having Gold Mario = way too many coins! I've already bought almost every item from the shop as well, what the hell are we supposed to do with all these coins after clearing out the shop? You should be able to gamble them online.
  5. Setting up an online game against friends: Voice chat sounds a bit fuzzy. No MH3U style buzzing at least... that, or they weren't charging their GamePad at the time. *EDIT* History of MK vid from Nintendo UK:
  6. A look at the quicker Wii U menu from the next system update: Crazy how much they have improved performance since launch.
  7. I'd say this, so you can get involved with the online stuff. Speaking of which, I just created a new N-E tourney: 35-4334-8025-3878 Speed Golf this time! Ends at 8pm on Friday. : peace:
  8. Awesome! :awesome:
  9. I not in the slightest bit excited by this news, think I've had enough of Pokémon now to be honest. The fact that this is a remake/re-imagining of a previous game doesn't help. Mind you, even if it was a brand new game I doubt I'd have been that interested either... too soon to X&Y. Great (and very surprising) news for all the Pokémon fans out there that just can't get enough though.
  10. Man, I'm finding some of the challenges in this pretty tough! Especially the ones where you need to collect a coin/ring and still make par. Any of those that also require the use of items are particularly tricky, the one I'm currently stuck on has the coin placed in such an awkward position. I'm able to collect it occasionally by using the whirlwind power-up, but then landing on the green at a decent distance from the hole is so difficult that I'm usually left with an impossible 100 mile putt. Annoying, yet good fun. Anyway, here's the European and Worldwide online tournament schedule:
  11. Anyone that predicted something.
  12. GIF from the infomercial: The amount of detail in the character animation is mind-blowing. :awesome: Yep.
  13. So is anyone changing their predictions for E3 based on the latest Wii U forecast? It seems like a lot of people are taking it as a sign that Nintendo don't have much planned this year...
  14. Japanese Infomercial: TV ads: It's the same, judging by the vids I've seen at least.
  15. Nice to see peeps have (or are planning to get) this game. I wondered what the hell was going on then for a while. I've now taken part in all of the currently available official tournaments online and collected all of their prizes also beat the third offline tourney earlier. Now it's on to the DLC courses and more online tournaments/Vs play! Really hope Nintendo have plans for even more DLC after the first 3 packs. The core gameplay and online setup is so good that this game has potential for some serious longevity if they continue to support it.
  16. It's worryingly quiet in this thread... Hello everyone! Awesome new Nintendo game with amazing online features has just been released!!!! No? OK... *goes back to playing*
  17. Anyone else randomly get a team downloaded to their game? I saw the blue SpotPass icon on mine last night, it had downloaded Spain! :awesome: Playing them in a friendly unlocks a special combo at the end of the match, and gives you x3 of each of the cards required for it. So it's basically like the DLC teams, but free. Nice surprise.
  18. Not quite, as only player posts are allowed at the moment. But yeah, sounds like a plan once the community is open to all. Let's just hope Nintendo won't delete the posts. Anyway, on screen user names are back during online races, which is awesome. :awesome: Now I'm wondering if Nintendo have sorted my other issue with the online in MK, which is forcing you to sit through an ongoing race (sometimes the entire 3 laps ) before you can join a game. @Daft or @Ashley, have you been able to play online yet? If so, how's the matchmaking system? Assuming you're at liberty to divulge such info of course.
  19. The Miiverse Community is up and running.
  20. It's possible to create 2 private tournaments at a time, yeah. You can choose the start date/duration (14 days is the max) it can be played as Stroke Play, Speed Golf or Point Play, you can select the course, number of holes (18/9/6/3) which characters can or can't be used, toggle items, wind strength, Tee positions, etc...There are a lot of options. There are many official tournaments to take part in too. These offer a prize (some new gear to customise your Mii) just for taking part, and it looks like the overall winner at the end of the tournament will receive a huge coin prize! You can choose to upload your score and ghost data at the end of each tournament Then there's online Vs against friends, up to 4 players depending on which play mode you select. And custom communities for playing against randoms worldwide! It's one of the most impressive online setups I've ever seen in a Nintendo game. :awesome: I've created a private tournament, here's the code: 19-6623-6029-1709 Front 9 holes of the Forest Course, Miis only, coins on! Ends at 8pm on Monday! : peace:
  21. Yeah, the roster could've done with less clone types. But look on the bright side, Fused... it's Waluigi Time again!! Also, I reckon additional characters are gonna appear at some point, either via DLC or NFC figures.
  22. It was just lacking content really. The online play was very limited too. I still enjoyed Mario Tennis and played it loads, but it definitely needed more development time I reckon. Golf on the other hand feels much more polished, is packed with stuff to do and has brilliant online.
  23. This game is rad! Been so impressed that I've gone for the triple pack DLC. I just know I'm gonna play this a lot. The online aspect is superb, there are so many options/tournaments. Great how you can see other players shots bouncing around in real-time too, standard thing in online golf games for a while now I know, but new to Mario Golf. Yeah, this is miles better than Mario Tennis Open.
  24. In MK Wii I think it just slid off the screen, does the same in 7 but also fades out as well. That's weird about the map being GamePad only. I know it's the last thing you'll want to be doing at the moment, but did you check the manual?
  25. Really enjoying this so far. Despite no full-on RPG mode, wandering around the golf club as your Mii and chatting to the various characters is still pretty cool. Brings back memories of the earlier games.
